I'm so sorry to hear this. I despair at the level some people in this country have been allowed to sink to. I have no time for political correctness and I have no doubt that there will be some bleeding hearts out there who would say that those who do these things need understanding or (something that makes my blood boil because it does nothing but compound some people's views of animals as inferior being) if they do this to an animal they may eventually do the same to a child. Sorry but I hope whoever did this suffers a long lingering death.

Just to let you know I am deeply disturbed and saddened by this horrific and tragic loss of both dogs. My heart goes to the owners of Ripley and Diesel and they are being thought of at this sad time. I hope one day there will be some closure on this story and someone can shed some light and I hope the culprits get what they deserve.

Ask for the culprits the scum bags that did this attack I hope they will get their come-uppences very soon. What low lifes are really wandering about these streets these days? it's sick to the core!

Thanks to all that have contributed in the search for Ripley and Diesel and again I am saddened that it hasn't been a happy ending.

Well said jobadger. Can I second that? While your dogs are happily playing at the bridge, this scum will hopefully be rotting in hell. Then you get these lovely people (members) who really care about other people and their pets. Makes you think that this lowlife is a monority. Incidentally does anyone know if the RSPCA is also involved as well as the police? I hope the funeral went ok and gave you a little comfort, knowing where they are. It's taken me a while to come onto Ripley's page after reading of Diesel's loss. I am so so sorry for you and your babies. I cannot know how you feel - my stomach churns at the thought of the scum who did this being able to wander freely. What goes around, comes around. I hope they suffer long and hard. I too am posting on both pages, for the love of both these precious dogs. I have no idea how you get through something like this. I don't know if I could, but owners have to, for Ripley & Diesel. They would not want them to give up even though they must feel like it right now. Deb4gsd, I don't think it is because the dogs are chipped, they could easily have let them go if that were the case and I doubt they even knew or cared. I think it is just evil, plain and simple. And, don't worry about these being in the human race as these are not humans! These two precious babies are now safe in the arms of God, never to feel harm again. Through it all they had each other, side by side in their love. God will bless and keep them safe forever, and may He help their loving family through this worst tragedy. God bless you sweethearts, & your loved ones. You will be together, always.x

I am sickened and horrified to read this. My sincere sympathies are with you. I cannot begin to comprehend what is going through a person's mind who would contemplate these acts. Rest in peace babies - play safely without a care.

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE POEM

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

As for the B*****ds who did this, may they suffer a horrible painful fate......and soon as we don't need scum like this walking the earth! I say it many times but I'm ashamed to be part of the same human race who can do such things to innocent animals! could this be another situation of both dogs being chipped so unable to sell on and killed and dumped like the poor puppy collie and Labrador? altho it's beyond me the need to take the poor dog's lives :( Run free and play together at the bridge xxxx

I have some sad news. I can't begin to imagine how their owner is feeling and readin their post on the forum brought tears to my eyes. There's some sick people out there and I think people need to be aware.

I would just like to send a MASSIVE thank you to everybody who had thought about my dogs and kept an eye out for them!!!! My babies have been found, but it is not good news. They were found dead and dumped in a human waste sewage tank, my bullmastiff had a rope tied round his front leg! The police have been informed. As you can imagine we are totally devastated to say the least!!!!!!!! We had a funeral at home for them today. My heart is broken! Thank you all again!! xxx

In case you haven't done so - check found dogs on this site - there was a German Shepherd cross found in Burton on 22 Aug - given the name Belle by the finder - worth having a look at.

Also add your missing pets to other 'Missing Pet', 'Lost and found' websites as you can. I do hope the never ending search is over soon.

Might be worth mentioning I was out walking my dog bottom of Underbank, Stocksbridge Saturday 20th and my dog picked up a strong scent of something around, he was playing me up and I was having to drag him along he was a proper handful, at the time I was thinking a bitch on heat must be out and about. But to be honest, I would probably have been frightened if I came face to face with yours while I'm out walking with mine.

Hello, sorry to hear Ripley and friend has been stolen. It might be worth noting that I was reading 'The Star', Sheffield newspaper on the 16.08.11 and apparently it reports that an Alsation attacked a heavily pregnant woman in Handsworth area. The police was investigating the incident. This may not be your dog Ripley, as it also states that there was another attack about a month before in the same area. But just letting you know anyway, and I certainly hope you get reunited with Ripley and pal very very soon.

I have spoken to Ripleys owner who has contacted the dog warden and stray kennels and has been postering. They have a Crime number for this theft. There has been no word yet of Ripley or Diesel the male Bullmastiff (doglost ID 31947) she was stolen with. More postering will be done plus media and radio coverage. Hoping Ripley and Diesel are back home very soon x
