Jodie been here 2 nights now and had a vet check. Has a growth between her toes on left back leg which vet wants to keep an eye on and quite a few warts but other than that she is just OLD! Is totally deaf and a bit senile but certainly not a reason to abandon her. So the daft old bat is staying here for good (daft old bat is a term of endearment lol)

Had breakfast in bed this morning - cheeky madam!
June
Well done to everyone who has helped this lovely older lady. Shame on those who abandoned her. There was no need. Happy life to you Jodie

Just to let everyone know - Jodie was a model passenger and she is finding her way round my place. a bit slow on the learning how to use the dog flap but we will get there. My dogs have met her - male (castrated) dog is in love and 2 bitches are tolerating her as long as she doesnt come too near to me when they are having a fuss.

She will be fine.

Thanks to all who helped this old lady xx
DogLostAngus
So pleased castbury - can we have a picture of Jodie with you, her new Mum to finish the page off and move her over to the blue please xx
Beebs

Beanie245
Big relief for everyone...We reunited JODIE a fews weeks ago and were horrified that this had happened to her, we are currently fostering another poor little dog but obviously we just had to help Jodie again.. We are collecting Jodie tomorrow from kennels and she will go to her new Mum (and savior) Caroline the permanent foster home in Staffordshire found through the wonderful Labrador Rescue where she can enjoy her retirement with love and care... Many Many thanks to both June of LR and Angus of Doglost for all the help.. enabling us to find this truly happy ending for Jodie... just for the record she is a pedigree Black Labrador (OK going Grey but she does not know that!!) 15 years old and a wonderful natured old girl who gets on with everyone dogs and humans alike in spite of her deafness, a little treasure who deserves and will now get the very best in her Golden years... Be Happy Jodie.. rest assured that we will be checking up on her daughter too, old age comes to us all even uncaring owner's!!
THe power of Doglost strikes again huge thanks to you all for rallying to Jodie's cause..

DID'NT REALISE SHE WAS A WANDERER AND HER OWNERS WERE ELDERLY BUT AN ENCLOSED GARDEN WOULD HAVE BEEN THE ANSWER!!MOST IMPORTANT IS JODIE IS SAFE. SOUNDS AS THOUGH YOU HAVE HAD A BUSY MORNING ANGUS.
DogLostAngus
Thanks Everyone - I am very happy that Jodie is safe and will enjoy the rest of her life - my phone has been red hot this morning so apologies to anyone who called and got my long and garbled work message !!

I think that her daughter will be safe with the owners as she is not a wanderer
dewilliams42

IT SAYS ON JODIE'S REUNITED PAGE SHE HAD A DAUGHTER-OBVIOUSLY SHE CANT BE YOUNG SO ITS WORRYING WHAT THEY MAY DECIDE TO DO WITH HER AND ALSO POOR OLD JODIE WILL PROBABLY MISS HER.
castbury
You mean there could be another dog as well? :-(
DogLostAngus
Have spoken to Castbury and just waiting for a call back from Beanie & will then call the kennels

dewilliams42
ANGUS- WAS THERE ANY MENTION OF JODIE'S DAUGHTER-SHE CANT BE YOUNG AND IT MAKES YOU WONDER WHAT THE OWNERS WILL DO WITH HER.

LRRSE will take her. We have a fosterer sorted already, Castbury, she has posted on this thread.
Can someone please tell me who I need to contact and what happens next.
Scrappy2010
Just unreal. Does she need a new home ? if so let me know some more details and i will crosspost and hopefully find her somewhere she will be loved. She hasn't been PTS has she?? x
castbury
If someone can give her back up -I will foster her for the rest of her life
Poochie Freak
As her owners are "known" is there any info on how she is with other dogs, kids, cats etc.? Or could someone find this out, in case a rescue space can be found for her. Heartbreaking :-(((
Puddies
I am astounded at how heartless some people can be, to have a pet for 17 years and then just leave her in a pound.... I thought they were pleased that she had been returned to them last time? Hopefully someone can step in and give this lady some comfort in whatever time she has left.
dewilliams42
THATS VERY HEARTLESS AT HER AGE. DID'NT JODIE HAVE A DAUGHTER? IS SHE IN DANGER OF BEING PUT TO SLEEP? CAN YOU TELL ME SOMETHING ABOUT HER-HOW SHE GETS ON WITH OTHER DOGS/CHILDREN? I LIVE IN SWANSEA AND HAVE A 14 YR OLD JRT BUT DONT KNOW IF I COULD GET UP TO SEE HER,
Unknown
O poor girl.........reaching a grand age only to be thrown away...so sad.......I do hope that someone will take her on..........She has such a sad face.
DogLostAngus
No owners have signed her over to the kennels ...
dewilliams42
