Thankyou so much for all your efforts, kind words, thoughts and support. Tess was found this morning by a local farmer, next to his pheasant run. She had her lead wound around a tree nearby. She was not there yesterday so we do not know where she has been - rabbiting and having fun we suspect! Mad border collie. She did actually whine when approached by the farmer, so we now know she makes some noise. Thanks again to all of you.

I've printed off some of the posters and delivered to dog owners in the Meadow Park area, asking them to spread the word. I've also put a poster on the local Parish Notice Board. I will walk Shockerwick Lane also in the hope of finding her. Good luck our thoughts are very much with you. Jacqui and Brian

Hi
I have emailed my Dad and asked him to keep a look out and spread the word. He lives in Northend, I think there is a road that goes from the Common to there.
Good luck,
Vickie.

Bannerdown is only about 10 miles away from me here in Chippenham so it might be worthwhile sending out emails to any helpers with SN13/14/15 postcodes too??

I've only ever been to Bannerdown once for a dog show so don't really know my way around the area, does anyone have a more precise location for where Jess disappeared as I can take my two up there to help look and hand out leaflets to any dog owners etc, but don't really know where to start.

Jane - There's a full list of contact numbers for Wiltshire vets and Dog Wardens in the 'Notes' section of the "Doglost - Wiltshire & South Gloucestershire" Facebook page.

I also have a list of vets for Bath and Bristol that I can send to you if you need them (will need your email address) Mandy x

After spending many a happy hour on Bannerdown Common whilst Dave was stationed at 21 sig sqn just up the road I know how easy it is to loose a dog up there.... I have found many a dog whilst walking our 2 old dogs. I hope and prey Tess is found very soon, she looks so much like our old dog Jess who we had whilst we were there. Many people use the common out walking so hopefully someone will come across her or see her... it's a worry with her lead still on, hopefully with it having a looser collar it may come off if she pulls..... hoping to see her in the blue soon... will keep on checking.. I have also posted on my facebook page as we still have friends down there xxx

Thanks very much for all your help so far. Tess belongs to my parents, but we all love her! She is a very timid rescue dog that does not bark, she is not noisy at all and will not necessarily alert us to her presence when we are looking and calling. Our fear is that she may be trapped by her lead and she will not necessarily respond to being called. I hope that one of you dog walkers on Bannerdown have a dog that will lead you to Tess perhaps. With time hopefully she may woof, we live in hope and keep looking and calling. Thanks again for all your support and help so far.Last edited: 2011-08-24 16:33:23 by Jane

I spoke with owner this morning. Tess went missing on Monday whilst out for a walk along the Fosse Way (Roman road from Bath to Cirencester) at Bannerdown which is mainly countryside. She had 2 collars on, a tight one with her tag and a looser one with the lead attached. Tess is a rescue dog around 7 years old. DWs in 3 adjoining councils have been informed and owner is visiting Bath cats & dogs home today. They have also started postering and are visiting vets and more built up areas in all directions: Chippenham, Bath, Batheaston and Marshfield. They have informed the chip co. Any sightings or info please call the landline number. I have a mobile number but they do not use a mobile very much.
Info sheets have been sent and now a pic of the lovely Tess is on so please can email alerts be sent to local helpers. Owners would be very grateful for any help. Stay safe Tess until we find you.
