Just checking on Widget. Where are you sweetie.

If you need polypockets for posters, Viking have them on offer - about £3.00/100 if you buy 600 - I know money has nothing to do with finding our babes, but 600 would cost you £60 at supermarket - thats a lot of miles looking/ads in the local paper. I think of you such a lot, have had "sightings" of Rags 3/4 days before they tell me. I do hope you have good luck soon

Fingers crossed for your lass too, Jo. We have found posters to the local post sorting offices very helpful - posties keep a sharp eye open, and most supermarkets will put up posters, don't waste your efforts with Sainsbury though, they take them down even on the edge of their carparks. Morrisons and Tesco are helpful. I have been advised to poster garden centres, B & Q and car boots coming up to the weekend. I so hope you have some support to help you do all these things

Just keep the posters going up Jo in case someone has picked her up.
Jo
Thank you everyone for all your comments and help.

hi everyone, sorry but i have been having such problems logging in. On Tuesday night I got a phone call saying that a dog looking exactly like widget had been seen in the litchborough area, not far from Bugbrooke. We searched that night and all of yesterday and put up about 20 posters and no one else had spotted her. I've been in touch with Dunsmore but will call all the vets and dog wardens again tomorrow just in case she has been picked up. i don't know what to think but the woman was very convincing and no one in the area has a black terrier that we know of. I just hope that if she is alive she is safely warm in a cosy place and i cant believe that she has not found her way home. She has a radar sense of direction but may have got muddled. lets hope she is ok or if not she is chasing bunnies in the sky.Last edited: 2011-09-09 01:33:54 by Jo

I know what you are going through (Rags B32). Don't know if its a help, but maybe someone could e-mail local commercial dog walkers with a poster for you? Best of luck. Caroline

Advertised in The Countryman's Weekly magazine today. I hope it brings some news.

Widget is in the paper again today.

Thanks JD for crossposting and also June for the info on Dunsmore. Forest Lodge still take dogs from quite a wide area but I've added Dunsmore to the list of information that I pass on to owners to make sure they check there as well.
June
I have seen in the parish council minutes (Moulton PCC June 2011) that stray dogs are being taken to Dunsmore Kennels, Stretton on Dunsmore since june 1st. I wasn't aware of this and still thought they were being taken to Forest Lodge.

Can anyone please qualify about what areas go to which kennel.

Have postered notice boards in Stoke Bruerne in case she comes along the canal towpath, and man who runs the boat trips also has a poster. One poster up outside post office in Hartwell. Seeing friends from Roade and Gayton tonight will pass a poster on to them.

  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
