- I don't know how or why chips move, but if she had been hit by a car then the vets should have known to scan her whole body, so maybe it moved too far in to be picked up? Holly, please tell owners that in the wild, if a dog is sick nature ensures it is killed before suffering but our dogs are not in the wild, so I think that sometimes God has to step in, as he knows what's in store if he doesn't. I understand their pain, I lost my dog in a similar way, but sometimes if you think about things from a different angle, it can help. Not now, but maybe later on when they able to think about it. Even if God had to take Missy, He made sure she was found and looked after. I am sure she didn't suffer as she would have been unconscious. God Bless Missy and her family; they will always be together, forever. x

My thoughts are with her family. - 2011-08-26 19:34 Jan S
- Could I just add....Missy was chipped nine years ago by PAWS the animal charity but the Vet says he could not find the chip. Owner was contacted by one of the kind ladies that stopped and helped Missy when she was hit, I guess we should all make sure that our dogs chips are still in place and readable.
Holly will be pleased to look out for missings in her area, I think admin have the e mail, I did send it earlier, ask me if you haven't. - 2011-08-26 18:26 digbysmum

- I just heard from Holly that poor Missy was hit by a car late Tuesday evening, as they were told. Thankfully somebody took her to a Vets in Port Talbot but she had lost the use of her back legs and was passing blood, so was p.t.s. I don't know at the moment why they didn't scan her there and then and save the owners a lot of extra heartache. But its a great comfort for them to know that she was looked after and kindly treated at the end.

- Thank you everyone, Missy belonged to some really good friends of mine and they are completely devestated. She had love and affection after the accident which makes it somewhat better. It's very upsetting for everyone, myself included. Thank you all very much for all your help and support in finding Missy. She can run free over Rainbow Bridge will all the other dearly departed pets xxxx

- Hi Jan, we have just had some news about 45 minutes ago. A dog of her description has been spotted walking around the north cornelly Marlas Estate, Porthcawl. We are all on our way out now to look for her. The person who originally said she had been hit has been located and he said she got up afterwards so there is hope. Thanks again

- Hi Holly glad you have registered it will help a lot if you get any sightings (and I so hope you do) if you put the information on here. Are there any parks, woods around or even gardens she might have managed to get to if she was hurt ? Can you get something about her in the local paper, mentioning how ill she is would surely tug some heartstrings. Be sure to poster around any Bank Holiday fairs/carnivals etc.

- Thank you everyone for all your help. Still no news unfortunately but we wont give up, she is microchipped but had no collar or tag on. It's quite strange because she never leaves anyone because of her condition, it's like she's vanished into thin air. Everyone has been contacted, all vets, council people in the area etc..everyone but nothing has come of it yet. We are putting lost posters up everywhere. I would like to thank everyone who has helped to find her, I would like to thank Jan because I wouldn't have got here if it wasn't for you or Yolanda and thank you Sherlock Bones for making this poster for us.

- Thank you for putting this on DL Dee. Missy belongs to my cousin in Porthcawl, but as I'm in Epsom I'm not able to help directly. Unfortunately this lovely girl is extremely unwell and probably very confused. It is so important she is found quickly. All the family would be so grateful if any Dl helpers in the area are able to offer assistance.Last edited: 2011-08-24 19:01:52 by Jan S

- Message from owner: At the moment she is unwell so she looks underweight, much more so than in the picture I have provided. She lives in Vintin Terrace in Porthcawl but she was with my friend and his other dog in the South Cornelly garage on Pyle Road in porthcawl. My friend then put up posters around the next day and one person rung saying they had seen she had been run over on Pyle Road at around 8:45pm, two cars stopped but that is as far as we know, we do not know who was in the cars and what happened to her after. She is microchipped and all the vets etc have been rung but no one seems to know anything. It is very important that she gets home because she is unwell. She is the dog on the left on the picture provided, the other dog is her son.
