I voiced these concerns to my vet many weeks ago, I have all my pets microchipped horses, dogs, cat, vets willingly take our money off us to microchip our pets but are not prepared to make the system work, or should I say very few of them are prepared to make the system work, this also applies to charities and kennels.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Until we make it law scanning of dogs is not mandatory-What a con! We are led to feel the chip will be picked up but until we get automatic scanning introduced it is a bit hit and miss.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

okay understand your explanation but...........Sandy is microchipped!!!!!!!!!! one of my biggest fears has been that Dollys' chip will not be picked up and this makes me feel no better.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Kennels have admitted a huge mistake was made and have offered compensation to the owners-but the best thing is that Sandy got back home-mistakes are made by everyone and I do not think the kennels should be made a scapegoat hence I have not put kennels name on site. I am sure they have learnt from their mistakes and will tighten up their system in the future. As this kennel takes in strays as well as being a boarding kennels they certaINLY NEED THE INCOME FROM THE BOARDERS TO SURVIVE AND IT WOULD BE A PITY IF PEOPLE NO LONGER BOARD THEIR DOGS WITH THEM.-sorry pressed capital lock by mistake!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

well!!!!!!!!!!! if no prosecution is pending I would be inclined to expose these kennels by taking out a private advertisement to warn people of their antics. Sorry do I sound radical? - the loss of a beloved pet seems to make you that way. Dolly 6.2.05Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

When the couple came back from their holidays they were told that Sandy had run away! A week later he was brought into the kennels as a stray and then the staff rehomed him for ?95 and descrbed him as a 5 year old bitch! The couple who bought him were friends of a freind who then informed owners that a similar dog to their dog had appeared!!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Did I read that right? The kennels!! sold him on. For what reason?? Are they being prosecuted?? Are they licenced?? Will they lose their licence?? so many questions to have answers to.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The Sheltie on the 'Dogs Found' page isn't Sandy, is he? I know the notes say he's 2-4 but it makes me wonder because when we rescued one of our Westies, three different vets said he is 18months, 3 yrs and the last said he is 7 years old! May be worth looking.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
