I lost a treasured friend today, a friend who’d lay his gentle head upon my knee, and share his silent thoughts with me.

He will come no longer to my call, Retrieve no more his favorite ball.

A voice far greater than my own has called him to His golden throne.

And though my eyes are filled with tears, I thank Him for the happy years, he let him spend down here with me, and for all the love and loyalty.

So sorry to see this. My thoughts, sympathy and prayers are with Billie`s owners at this very sad time. But at least she had a good life with you and passed to Rainbow Bridge surrounded by love. Billie is home now. Police had to be involved to get her back but she is home now.Has a few minor injuries and is going off to vet to be checked now.

Billie has been found. she was picked up a few minutes after she went missing. finder has not handed her over yet but will update on situ ASAP.

Lisa1981, I did see on the map that there was a railtrack very near, but as Martin had said that Billie was very infirm, I doubted whether she would have ventured that far in the horrendous weather. just hoping she is lying curled up in a ball somewhere,sheltering or that someone has found her and has taken her in over the weekend. It was a local holiday, so DW or council could not be contacted.People will often keep a stray dog over the weekend and hand it in at the beginning of the week. Sometimes people assume an old dog has been dumped and will hang onto it until they see posters or advert in the paper.Fingers crossed this little old lady is found soon.

Text Martin this morning to say that I'd be on the look out for Billie. Its a terrible time for her to go missing considering the bad weather that we have at the moment. Possible that she's lying low to say out the wind and the rain? Have the owners checked with network rail since the area Billie was lost in is right beside the railway. Have kept an eye open today, unfortunately I've no car tomorrow but will keep an eye open on our walks which aren't too far away from where Billie went missing. Was it Calender Woods that Billie wandered off in?

Owners and helpers have been searching non stop but Billie seems to have disappeared into thin air although she cannot walk far, is deaf and nearly blind.She wandered into woods while out a walk with owner, but was gone a matter of seconds when she disappeared. Any helpers in the area please?
