Thank you to everybody for your help with Freya and her horrible kidnapping. We are overjoyed by her return and our daughter is very pleased indeed to have her best friend home again. As for Freya, she has a new bed , collar, treats etc and is behaving as tho she's never been away!

"they all look the same to her" charming,,,,, How the heck are dogs to find their owners with attituds like that,,,,disgraceful!
Chips used to migrate taluhla but not supposedly the new ones & its rare if not an urban myth that chips are taken out .
Perhaps Gypsy will go and check this out for you or a doglost co-ordinator or perhaps a ESSW co-ordinator however she would have done her 7 days on the 19th Last edited: 2012-01-23 20:21:53 by Reynard

Hi Taluhla. I know that chips can sometimes become ineffective but I'm not sure often how common this is. If I lived in the Manchester area I'd happily go armed with photos of Freya and check for you! Its a frustrating situation to be in for you, especially when others are unhelpful. Surely this person could check, its not too much to ask! If they were in the same position - how would they feel? Stay positive and don't give up hope. xxx
taluhla
Thanks Gypsy, it's been claimed already .. but did see small springer up near manchester fitting description listed from 1st Jan. Haven't spotted that site before. Unfo I contacted the kennels she's been taken to and the person was not too helpful .. "can I send / email you a photo?" to which the lady replied that "they all look the same to her" .. don't know where to go from here but 7/8 hr round trip seems the ony way and they have no website / email etc .. printing off pic and sending up but she wasn't very positive and I'm not sure she'll even look at it when it arrives.. Just one Q - she said it isn't chipped ... can a chip be removed / work it's way out etc.. as Freya was chipped ..

I think the theft oa any animal is appalling. Presume the police have been informed as this is a crime. This makes me so angry. There are plenty of dogs to choose from from a dogs home. All breeds. Fingers xd for Freya`s safe return with her rightful owners.
taluhla
Thanks for your help.. we are still looking for Freya, she is badly missed every day. We now think that she may be somewhere in Yate so I would appreciate any body in that area keeping eyes open. Thank you.
BBKM
So pleased Eira has been found, hope Freya is reunited soon too x

Ant news of these 2 girls yet x
HatBat
I will put posters up in Bath on the Bath skyline walk tomorrow morning - by BCDH, by the Macaulay buildings entrance to the skyline off Widcombe Hill, Claverton Community centre gate and Combe Down entrances.

Good luck and hoping the girls come home safely soon.

p.s. A poster that covers both dogs would be really handy.
taluhla
Put more posters up this morning .. hoping somebody will have seen something .
taluhla
Thanx Basil, good idea re taxi drivers / bus drivers - will do.. Have added better pic of Freya's markings this morning.
taluhla
thanx dog lover, very helpful re vet details, sent some emails to most of the Bristol vets yesterday but will send more today. Also going to target press next week.. They were insured but the NFU have a separate additional policy for 'lost dogs'. As ours have always been so secure and tagged chipped I didn't think we would need this, never thought about the possibility of theft :( .. thanks again..Last edited: 2011-09-18 20:21:36 by taluhla

You can also get vets details in your area on google earth. It usually gives websites or email addresses for them too so you can email your poster to vets and ask to pin on their notice boards or call them to get an email address. Hand some flyers/posters to taxi drivers and bus depots/drivers too. Glad your boy is in good spirit, thinking of you all xx
doglover1
Hi Taluhla, If you look to the right of this page you will find a link to " Find any UK vet " ( green box), Also just a thought but are the dogs insured as they (insurance company) may pay for newspaper ads, ( when the insured dog is missing or stolen!)It would be a good idea to get them both in the papers, Bristol Evening Post ? Also if you are on Facebook you can set up a page for them as Stolen. I've sent posters out to many rescues in the Bristol area ( as i'm local & friend of Dinkydoodle). I hope your big boy recovers soon, poor fella. Anything else I think of i'll post here, Keep up the great work postering it will pay off.x
taluhla
The police are being very helpful, they have been to the local office buildings etc, they are also regularly calling and assure me that they are 'investigating' it. Good idea about the traveller liaison officer, will do ..I have this afternoon put posters up around Bristol. The big boy ripped his stitches yesterday so he's back to the vets this pm but otherwise he's in very good spirits - typical GSP!. Does anybody know of a quick way to get all the email addresses of the vets in Bristol, other than trawling the internet? Thanks again for all the help and support.. xLast edited: 2011-09-18 20:23:31 by taluhla

Terrible ordeal this. I personally would go and discreetly watch this site if possible. The best way is to contact your local council and ask if they have a traveller liason officer who will go to the site and if your dogs are there it is their duty to return the dogs to you. Give them a poster to check for any markings etc. What are the police doing?? Good luck hope they are found soon xx

Horrific, Im gutted for you and your family.Pray your lovely doggies are being cared for and your reunited soon my thoughts are with you all.Our Tay WSS was stolen from my garden 6months ago and is still missing. Im in Wigan and will circulate your dogs on my face book.Good luck gail xxx
taluhla
Thanks KatieKoo. As stolen in such a focussed way I feel that she is likely to be well out of the area now. I have a contact who has contacts at the traveller site in South Glos and they are keeping their eyes and ears open. Thanks for your assistance, much appreciated.Last edited: 2011-09-19 09:51:48 by Mollychops

Have spoken with owner and given advice. A picture of Freya is being sent asap. Another dog a female GSP was also stolen at the same time but owner was unable to put her on site then, will do so asap. A CRN has been obtained. We really need the pics to be able to circulate these dogs nationwide. Stay safe girls.

Mollychops has asked me to contact, will do so in the morning.
