xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Friend, please don’t mourn for me
I’m still here, though you don’t see.
I’m right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I’m always near.
I’m everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I’ll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I’ll never wander out of your sight-
I’m the brightest star on a summer’s night.
I’ll never be beyond your reach-
I’m the warm moist sand when you’re at the beach.

I’m the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I’m the beautiful flowers of which you’re so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I’m the first bright blossom you’ll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I’m the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you’ll see that the face in the moon shine is mine.

When you start thinking there’s no one to love you,
you can talk to through the Lord up above you.
I’ll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you’ll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.

I’m the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I’m the smile you see on a baby’s face.
Just look for me friend, I’m every place!

I am so very sorry. Please take heart that Gypsy would have probably been knocked unconscious and would not have suffered. Sometimes it seems, God has to take our special dogs back to heaven quicker than we would like and he takes them quickly so they feel no pain. You found her; she can rest peacefully. Gypsy is now safe in God's arms watching over you until you are reunited again - this time, never to be parted again. God bless you and Gypsy. x

One of our neighbours found Gypsy's remains this afternoon over the other side of the bypass, 200 yards from our front door. It looks like she was knocked down trying to get home........rest in peace beautiful.

Thank you everyone for your support over the past few weeks, I don't know what we would have done without it xx

SIX WEEKS....................more postering and searching this week xxx
Maria Chippenham
Searched a different area today, we convinced ourselves she would be there.......
Maria Chippenham
Thanks. Juts bought an A3 laminator xx
Rottie_Linz
hi there, i've added this to my Facebook page.. hope you find her soon. xxx
Maria Chippenham
Thanks Reynard. We have next week off, so will be concentrating our efforts x
DogLostReynard
Maria Gypsy may have been pick up as no further sightings and perhaps a dog like her would not relish living rough & would seek out people? I am sure by now you have checked out all the other options that there may be in Chippenham,,,so it would have to be someone that would be able to conceal a large dog & have experience of large breeds otherwise someone would have seen something by now ,,,perhaps massive Postering & advertising is an option and hopefully she will turn up Good Luck! x
Maria Chippenham
Any ideas on what else we can do? x
Maria Chippenham
Thanks to the lady who called about the dog in the car park. Checked it out but turned out to be the pub landlords dog. Thanks for calling though x
Maria Chippenham
More postering tomorrow x
Maria Chippenham
Thanks Bazil, not Gypsy....... x
BBKM
Sorry to see Gypsy is still missing, check rottie found today ID 33617, says adult and chipped to a Northampton contact. Don't think its Gypsy but worth a look to rule out xx
Maria Chippenham
Gypsy needs her frontline tonight, 20-40kg. Please, if you have her make sure you do this in the next few days.

New to DL, so sorry to see Gypsy missing. I am helping on the Rott Welfare Assoc.stall at the SW Champ show in Clevedon on Sunday. Have printed poster and will display. Hope this helps, stay strong & don't give up-hope she's home with you soon.
Maria Chippenham
Thanks to the lady who gave details about the kennels in the field, no sign of Gypsy though x
Maria Chippenham
Thanks to the lady who left a message about the Big Issue seller in Bath. I think I saw the same Rottie last week. She was the spitting image of Gypsy. A bit older though and she had half a tail. I work in Bath, so will keep looking though.
Maria Chippenham
Have contacted the local hunts also.
Maria Chippenham
Thanks to Trudy for the information regarding the bridle path. We checked it out for a couple of hours but no joy. Put posters up, so hopefully if she is there someone will see her. We will keep checking anyway x
Maria Chippenham
Four weeks
Maria Chippenham
Gary says I am obsessing but I can't help it. We planned for over a year to bring Gypsy into our lives. She was the first dog Beau accepted (after a few failed at-temps). We haven't only changed our lives, we have changed his.......how am I meant to explain to Beau?
Maria Chippenham
Where is she? Why hasn't she been spotted? Why isn't she home?........We just want her home.
Maria Chippenham
I have just bought a laminator because sticking the posters to the lamppost isn't very effective as they keep being ripped off. We are going to put posters in different areas this weekend, so will add Bath and Box.....
MMM
have you gone as far a field as Box and Bath, I don't recall seeing any posters past the roundabout near the Golf course. I can't find Gypsies facebook page, but on mine there is a link for dogs lost in UK, the administrator adds dogs every other day or so of rescue dogs all over the UK..add me if you want maria davison
Maria Chippenham
Thanks, I have been checking the found dog section everyday. Her Facebook page is The Lost Rottweiler. The posters seem to be getting peoples attention, so will put more up over next few days.
MMM
Hi Maria
I'm from the North East but travel regualary to Corsham and saw your posters on most of the lamposts around the a350/429 last week
I haven't seen your dog but will keep an eye out when I'm travelling....but on the dogs found section of this site there are a couple of mentions of Rottie/Rottie cross, around East Anglia/Northampton..might be a long shot but if she has got lost and just continued to keep walking, might even have been picked up by someone then got loose again....also there is facebook page for lost dogs which is based in Middlesbourgh, appreciate that's no where near you but there are loads of pages on facebook about pets for sale / pets lost etc....have you thought of setting up something on facebook? I really hope you find Gypsy
Maria Chippenham
Sent more posters to vets in extended the area. Beau is very grumpy, he doesn't like us leaving him.....x
Maria Chippenham
Three weeks and no sightings, its really hard trying to stay positive x
Maria Chippenham
Thank you to the person who left a message about Biddestone, just checked it out but don't think the dog was Gypsy, the barmaid said the owners were foreign and the dog was really well trained. Gypsy is just learning. x
Maria Chippenham
We have spent the afternoon putting more posters up, will go further afield tomorrow
Maria Chippenham
Thanks, that's good to hear xxxx
lynabby
Sorry Gypsy still missing. Our dog (now found) was missing in the same place also having run after a scent, so I can appreciate how you feel. I'm in Cepen park south, so keep checking the fields each time I pass or walk our dogs. Your posters are still up every where I go, & word is spreading. Fingers crossed. Let me know if I can help. Rooting for you. x
Maria Chippenham
Had a call from Swindon council this pm, they have a male rottie and thought it might be ours...........
Maria Chippenham
Just called, the dog has a white patch on her chest, so not Gypsy. Thanks though x
BBKM
Stray dog found on here 33226 unknown sex, Rottweiler Cross x
Maria Chippenham
Gypsy's dogmatic head collar arrived this morning, five weeks after we ordered it. Really hope she will be wearing it soon x
Maria Chippenham
We were really hoping for some news by now.......will keep putting up the posters x
Maria Chippenham
Have now sent posters to all vets in Swindon, Calne, Chippenham, Corsham, Melksham, Malmesbury, Marlborough, Trowbridge, & Bath. Had one call today from a lady who saw the poster but the rottie seen was a male.
DogLostMillypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer
Hope the big posters work and you get that all important call. Good luck.x
Maria Chippenham
Had a call earlier from a very lovely lady. A friend of hers saw her own dog advertised for sale after it had been missing for a year, so we have been looking on the internet this pm. Nothing so far x
Maria Chippenham
We've got 20 laminated A3 posters to put up tomorrow! I can't see how anyone will be able to miss them......
Maria Chippenham
We put an advert in the Gazette & Gerald today (page 64), so hopefully that may bring some news xx
Maria Chippenham
Walked our other dog, Beau, this morning and most of the posters we put up in our area have been torn down, so will put more up later.
DogLostReynard
Sorry no good news Maria but dont be dishartened, sometimes this happens, keep up the scenting & feeding in the Barking and last Sighted area & keep the BBQ going not many dogs can resist the smell of Sausages cooking & make sure you have very clear LARGE posters near the A4, so drivers can see.
STITCH is still missing in Chippenham so hope you have been in touch with his owner as you maybe can help each other.Last edited: 2011-09-28 20:37:12 by Reynard
Maria Chippenham
Just back from the search. Unfortunately there is still no news. Thank you so much to everyone who gave up their time to search. We really appreciate it xx
Maria Chippenham
Thanks, looking forward to the search. Just looked at the found rottie, unfortunately its not Gypsy x
DogLostMillypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer
Hi just wanted to say good luck with the search tonight, gypsy looks like my rottie.x
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
There's a female rottie cross on found pages for 27.9.11. I don't think colouring is quite right, but worth a look x
Maria Chippenham
I'd rather people suggested stuff a 1000 times than not at all! Thanks
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Are there any trading estates nearby? My husband has a customer on a trading estate in Corsham and said it might be worth postering the businesses to make the drivers aware. Also what about local taxi firms, sorting office and refuse collectors? (Sorry if this has already been suggested). Dogs on the loose tend to move around at dawn and dusk, so make sure to search at these times if possible.
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Too far away to help, but wishing you lots of luck for Wednesday. Have you tried a portable barbecue and some nice smelly sausages? Might be enough to tempt her out of hiding. My rottie would do anything for tuna - take some with you when you are searching - or some pilchards. Good luck xx
Maria Chippenham
Thanks
BBKM
So sorry to see Gypsy is still missing. When you don't get any positive sightings it usually means someone has her. If so they will keep her hidden for a while. Some people find a dog and think they can just keep it as their pet. This is wrong but it happens. Some people find them and sell them on. Keep postering and handing out flyers, someone somewhere will have seen her. If she is still out there surviving on her own she will be sighted soon and can survive for a very long time. Good luck on Wed, but lets hope she is found before then. Wish I lived closer to help you xxLast edited: 2011-09-26 20:28:13 by Mollychops
Maria Chippenham
Hi everyone, Wednesday night at 5.30pm we are asking everyone to meet at Sainsbury's/ McDonalds/ Nursery, with your dogs, walking shoes and torches, so we can have a mass hunt for Gypsy. We would love you to make it xxxx
Rottie Rehab
Did you go & look in the barns & outbuildings around the area as we discussed earlier?
Maria Chippenham
It's been six and a half days since Gypsy went missing. I can't begin to tell you how myself and Gary are feeling. We feel like our world has been torn apart. We have both experienced heartache in our lives but neither of us has ever felt a loss such as this. Please, if you have Gypsy or know where she might be please contact us. Beau, our other pup, is also very upset, he has lost his love. we just want her home.
Maria Chippenham
Just spoken to Georgina from Rottie Rehab. She is going to spread the word too.
Maria Chippenham
Just heard from the warden, its not Gypsy. He thinks the female is about four and has a lump on her neck. Also found with a male Rottie xx
Maria Chippenham
I have just called them. The dog warden is going to call us, it may not be her but at least we have another website. I have also added her details to their site. Thanks xx
BBKM
Might be worth checking, Rottweiler found on animalwardens, here's the link below
http://www.animalwardens.co.uk/lost-found-dogs-search?sobi2Task=sobi2Details&catid=&sobi2Id=23129
Maria Chippenham
Gypsy is now on Facebook - The lost Rottweiler - we have spent the day putting more posters up along roads. Still no more news xx
Maria Chippenham
Just been round putting more posters up. Met a lady with lots of dogs who is also going to spread the word.
Maria Chippenham
No sightings since. Went back this morning.
DogLostReynard
Thats brillinat news Maria, wont be long now xxxx
Maria Chippenham
POSSIBLE SIGHTING!! A lady was walking her dog about 11 am and saw a black dog in the distance (in a field by the A4). It was too far away to see any markings. Just been over but no sign.
Maria Chippenham
Been to the woods again, there was fresh dog mess but it didn't look like Gypsy's and I couldn't hear any barking. Walked through the back lanes to Corsham and back along the A4, put bigger posters up for drivers.
Maria Chippenham
We will keep checking, thanks
BRUNGER
i have never heard your dog bark.
but the noise in the woods sounds like a big dog.
first i heard it from a distance but then i went right up to the woods and it sounded like like a bigish dog
Last edited: 2011-09-23 08:10:59 by BRUNGER
Maria Chippenham
Can you describe the bark?
Maria Chippenham
Thank you, we have heard the same and we think it is coming from the farm. But we will go and check xx
BRUNGER
I have just walked my spaniel across the fields, where you lost her!! I was near a wood at the last field on the left and i could hear a lot of barking coming from there.
( i'm the person who works at lily's barn)
Maria Chippenham
No change.
Maria Chippenham
Have spoken to lots of people in the last few days who have given us hope. Thank you. No sign tonight but maybe tomorrow. xxx
Maria Chippenham
Just been for a drive and I met a neighbourhood watch member. The nearest human contact to where Gypsy went missing is a travellers camp and he seems to think she most likely gravitated there. My partner went over to the camp on Tuesday night and was told they didn't have any rotties and my partner thought they were genuine. Any ideas? I don't understand why there have been no sightings?
Maria Chippenham
Handed posters out to vets, bus drivers and taxis drivers. Also put some up at bus stops and taxis ranks. Checked the dog warden again and Bath dogs home. Still nothing. Going back to where she was last seen in a little while.
Maria Chippenham
That's great, thanks. Been for a walk this morning and left another scent trail. No news still.
BBKM
Hope this gorgeous girl is found safe very soon x Hand out posters or flyers to taxi/bus drivers, ask if you can put one up at the local bus station and you can also give to the rubbish bin men. Let your postman know she is missing too. Good luck x
Maria Chippenham
Still no sightings.
Maria Chippenham
Been to all the farms in the immediate area this afternoon, no one has seen her. Going back out now.
Maria Chippenham
Been out between 10.30 and 2.30 searching the area she went missing from. Still no sign.
Maria Chippenham
Just been back to where we last saw Gypsy. The clothes we left have been moved and the food has been eaten but.........We have left more food and clothes and another scent trail. We will be widening the poster drop today.
DogLostReynard
Local helper Mandy has contacted and forwarded the DL FB page with the instuctions on scenting etc. Poster Poster Poster to get her noticed , make sure DWarden & Microchip co. local farmers and the Golf Club has been informed , make sure you have someone where she went from as most dogs will go back to where last lost ,,,,looking for Mum!
Good Luck!
Bev
Hi Maria .. Keep going back to where you lost her .. Leave clothes that you have been wearing with your scent on and food etc ..
Maria Chippenham
Also we have put up posters and been to lots of farms in the area. Everyone has been so helpful. I have just emailed a picture and video to admin@doglost.
Maria Chippenham
Still no sign. We went back to the last place she was seen and left food and clothing. We even left a scent trail. Not sure what else we can do, any ideas?
Spindle
Any chance of clearer photo please to show markings. Pls send to admin@doglost.co.uk if so.
BBKM
Its good you keep going back, also check all unused barns, outbuildings, sheds etc that are in that area, she may have found a cosy den to rest in x
BBKM
Ok Maria thanks, try and get your posters up asap as they really do help by making people aware she is missing and if sighted they know who to call. Hope she is found very very soon, good luck x
Maria Chippenham
Still no sightings. We have looked in Corsham & Biddestone and surrounding area. We are going back to where she ran off now, so hopefully she may be back there.
Maria Chippenham
Hi, Gypsy has been in a dogs home since March and we picked her up a month ago. The home gave her a different name, so don't think its her. She is very friendly and loves food. We are going back out in a little while. Thanks Maria
BBKM
Concerned this could be Gypsy lost on here in June - dog ID 30112 - if she was originally a rescue dog x Is this dog definately a rottweiler cross?
Sorry to post this on here but I am concerned. Hope Gypsy is found soon and safe xxLast edited: 2011-09-19 13:28:56 by BBKM
DogLostMandy (Wiltshire)
I've just spoken to Maria and she's still over the fields looking for Gypsy. I've got a free hour now so am going straight out to have a drive round the lanes surrounding the fields to see if I can spot her. Mags, Gypsy is very friendly and loves food!
mags
Maria, I walk my dog there every day...I will go there as often as I can and will alert all dog owners that I see. Will Gypsy come to me if I call her? Will bring an extra lead if she is a friendly dog.
