Gill, is he mircochipped? Or wearing a collar and tag?
Dogs survival skills can be amazing sometimes when they need to be but I hope that someone has taken him in and just hasn't seen a poster yet.
Gill
Thanks for all your help and advice. None of the Yorkies I followed up were Jacob and I fear he is not the type of dog to survive on his own - he is so small. That may sound defeatist. The whole thing has broken our hearts. I do keep phoning all the dog homes etc. Thank you all again for your support.
Unknown
Maybe go out tonight with some hot sausages to the area he may have been in and have a good look around, ie, behind shops etc where a dog could hide..
I really do hope yo find him soon........keep checking vets and dog warden also.
B30
Gill I hope the recent sighting is him. If he might be living rough he'll be looking for food so make sure you target anywhere that has bins outside. Also find out what day bin collection is. If people put their black bags out overnight it could attract him. Scared dogs are more likely to be about when it's quiet, very late at night, very early mornings.
Gill
Thank you Coralvb. Yes I actually went to see him - well, you have to. A lady phoned me this morning saying her husband had seen a Yorkie on his own in Brickhouse Lane, Great Bridge on Friday evening. That is near the canal. Unfortunately he couldn't stop and also he was unaware of our dilemma until this morning. I have put MORE notices out in the area and in several shops and the local pub, apart from farther afield. Also businesses in that vicinity. If it was Jacob he must have been taken in for a time as I really don't believe he would survive all that time outside on his own. He gets a terrible tummy if not fed correctly and needs medication if it gets bad. I just hope that if that happens and someone gets fed up with the problem, they will do the right thing and hand him in. I have hope. Thank you all for your kindness. Bless you.

Hope this lovely little boy is found safe very soon.
Gill
Thank you to everyone for your kindness, it really helps to read such lovely thoughts from you all. I think I have just about exhausted every possible way to get our little boy back. All the advice given by Sue has been most helpful. I went to see the little chap found at Yardley Wood, at Birmingham Dogs Home just to put my mind at rest. (Thank you Jenny4). He has his name down for a good home should his owner not come forward - so he will have a have ending! Thank you all once again. Bless you.

This little fella has a run of six adds in the Express and Star and the Chronicle. I hope someone recognises him Gill and comes forward

Sorry to see that UNKNOWN is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (32883)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
