copied from FB - have sent owners a message to check out

Time is running out for a lost little dog who is pining for his owners to claim him from a veterinary centre in Watford.

The forlorn four-legged friend was taken to Park Veterinary Centre, in Cassiobury Drive, after being found with a dog bite on his leg in Croxley Green on Saturday.

A member of the public picked up the black and brown border terrier cross, which does not have a collar or microchip, after seeing him limping around in Links Way.

Staff at the vets have been reluctant to hand the canine over to the council’s dog warden as they are sure he is not simply a stray but say they will have to move him on soon.

Small animal manager Carol McGuigan said: “He’s quite overweight and has been neutered – he’s obviously well cared for. We feel he may have an elderly owner who has been unable to find him. If he goes to the warden he will be put in kennels after seven days and they will never find him.

“It is quite sad, he’s obviously pining for his owners. He has not been eating or drinking well.”

The vets have patched up the lost dog’s leg and say they will find him a foster home on Monday to take temporary care for him until the owner is found.

If you know who the dog belongs to, telephone Carol at the vets, on 01923 223321Last edited: 2011-12-03 18:18:19 by Angus

Apologies. Busy week but here's the update: Diane & I went out on Wednesday with some very specific posters and flyers to target the area bordering the A41 and behind Patchetts Equestrian Centre. This area has lots of settled travellers who live and work here. There are lots of lorries and coaches to-ing and fro-ing and we wanted to target them. Thanks to Chapmans and Careys for being helpful again, and also allowing us to poster around entrances and offices.
Unknown
Have been out and about this week renewing posters. There are now specific posters in specific areas ! We are working on the basis that Mojo has been picked up and we are making targeted appeals. There are a large number of settled travellers along the stretch of the A41 from Sandy Lane to the Hartspring roundabout (which surrounds Patchetts Equestrian Centre) and we are hoping they may be able to help. The appeal in Battlers Green brought in a call that brings us another set of ears and eyes there.

Thanks Sue. Lets hope this brings some information on Mojo.

So glad you're staying positive! Good luck - thinking of you all. Jo xxx

Advertised in The Countryman's Weekly magazine today. Good luck, I hope it brings some news.

A sighting two weeks ago in Oxhey Lane near the Load of Hay came in today. Geographically possible. Will investigate tomorrow.

This week we are going to make specific appeals for the person who undoubtedly has Mojo. Off to equestrian centre to meet owner. We have special posters for Battlers Green where person in black Polo-style car was seen picking up dog like Mojo.
Unknown
Thanks, Debbi. I did suggest to owner that she ring round the neighbouring DWs again and she did say that she had managed to speak to you directly, and was much reassured by your help. The plan is to use the WO to appeal to the person who has undoubtedly taken Mojo.
DogLostAunt Stef - Area Volunteer, West London
Thank you for this debbi.
Dog Wardendebbi
spoke to owner today to reassure her we wardens still have mojo's details and are on the look out. he certainly hasnt been handed in to us (trdc), watford, hertsmere or dacorum. i am quite sure he has been found and kept. have suggested wat observer is contacted again with a view to another article and hopefully some leads will come from that
Unknown
Now come on Mojo, get yourself found soon. You have a new friend who is waiting to play with you. Fingers xd for Mojo to be reunited.
Unknown
Took Dido the pbgv to the Equestrian Centre again today, but this time we had one of Mojo's toys. She took us to a part of the centre and beyond that we hadn't been to be before. ie the show rings and the paddocks behind. We also went parallel to the M1. Difficult to say if she was scenting Mojo or Diane from her last judging visit. Could be worth further exploration.Last edited: 2011-11-01 18:17:16

Great piece on the Watford Observer website: http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/news/9332637.Have_you_seen_missing_Mojo_/?ref=eb
Didn't make the printed edition - there was a reunited story already. Anybody get the Free Observer & know whether it was in there ? Many thanks to Chris Hewett.

Forgot to say: The photo of Mojo is about six months old. He now has more black on him and is more wiry. And, poor little boy is only 15 mths old. Come on guys, let's get out there and try and get him home !
Unknown
Thanks, Judy. I have emailed you. I'm away but can give you location details. Is there anyone else who can join up on Sunday ? Have spent morning walking around Equestrian Centre & footpath to Berry Grove. Nice fly-tipping operative will be keeping his eyes open as he travels round all day.Last edited: 2011-10-26 14:02:43

I can get to Costco for Sunday if that is any help. I don't know the area awfully well though. I can meet up with you there Nik and you can show me the area etc...judy

I spent the morning in the Costco/Hartspring/burger van area. The burger van is opposite the A41 entrance to Costco and owner, Christine does have a dog. Thus, I think both sitings in that area are probably hers. Christine will be our eyes and ears on that section of the A41. By chance I bumped into the local postman who also covers Patchetts Green. A dog owner, too, he will be looking to. I've also done a press release for the Free/Watford Observer. Personally, I think Mojo's been picked up, but Dido the pbgv & I will go down to the Equestrian centre tomorrow and walk around the fields that Diane took Mojo to. Diane is judging at the centre again at the weekend, and it would be good to get a team together to get the word out more thoroughly. But over to Stef on that one !
DogLostAunt Stef - Area Volunteer, West London
Thanks Nik,lets hope this brings some news of Mojo.
Unknown
Somebody phoned Mojo's owner today to say that she had seen a man with a similar dog at the burger van next to the Toby Carvery in Hartspring Lane about four weeks ago. Well-built with a flat-back white van, Diane's hoping he's a regular there. I'll pop down in the morning to investigate.

Thanks Nik,saw a load of your posters :-) I met owners by Battlers Green Farm shop, they were out there postering.Thank you also to John who sent me a text,he is out there postering & searching, has been from the start. There are a good amount of posters about, well done everyone .A lot of people know about Mojo & are on the lookout. I have given The Metropolitan Police Sports Club, Bushey a poster which has gone up on the bar noticeboard. I have spoken to so many people out today whilst I was postering the area of Battlers Green,Loom Lane, Common Lane, New Rd,Summerhouse Lane .Please let this bring some more sightings of little Mojo.
Unknown
We've spent the morning on roads/footpaths/field radiating from the Three Compasses/Equestrian Centre. Have renewed/added posters. Stef, I think is off to Battlers Green, and the owners' son (?) was in the Equestrian Centre - although we missed him. We'll do Hartspring Lane and Costco later. MacDonalds drive-in and Sandy Lane site done too.
DogLostAunt Stef - Area Volunteer, West London
Photo now altered so the poster prints correctly.

Have spoken to Nik,thanks for your help here & will cover as much of the area as possible.
Have put details of Mojo on FB Doglost West London.

Will get over there today, have a look round & poster.

SDK don't cover the Watford Area so cannot gleam any more info on the possible pick up i'm afraid
Unknown
I've had an email from the owner with the details of yesterday's incident at Battlers Green and I've asked her where she'd like us to go tomorrow. If I don't hear back, we'll start out at Costco and then go towards Battlers Green. As the crow flies it's about 1.5 miles between the two, with the M1, A41 and a site (with form) inbetween.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Thanks....this rather battles with the costco sighting at 2 pm unless different dog or Mojo got away again..
DogLostAngus
Have sent text to SDK warden and asked if they can check records

Mojo is being circulated on twitter with new info.

Sighted yesterday being picked up by a man in a black Polo...ringing now for more details.
DogLostAngus
it is very close but he would have had to have crossed / gone under / gone over the M1 at J5 - the equestrian centre is directly opposite Costco but across the M1, by the looks of the map he would have crossed over the M1 on the road bridge to the rear of the equestrian centre and followed Tylers Way towards Costco - the smell from the in house Pizza may well have drawn him in Last edited: 2011-10-22 08:22:39 by Angus

Is the sighting near where he was taken from? or near to his home? SO frustrating living so far....he's such a lovely little chap.
jobadger
I so hope this gorgeous little lad is found soon. xx
Unknown
Sadly, although this is at the bottom of our (very long) lane, we're away until Sunday. So, I make these suggestions. To the south is farm land which either belongs to Tyler's Farm (020 8950 8758) or maybe farmed by Paul Lory who has fields on other side of Little Bushey Lane. This is his number at his main farm: 01923 262946. Also try Kingsdale Kennels: 020 8950 1853. Metropolitan Police Sports Club: 01923 243947. Bushey Jewish Cemetery: 020 8950 7767. I'll be checking back, and am happy to go out on Sunday.

Sighted 2pm at cost cos...owner informed but she is in Essex. anyone around to look for him...
Neighbark
Is there any news on this little one? Has the owner read our suggestions/ideas?
FrankieB
What a cute little dog........... and he shares his name with mine! Just to add to the suggestions from Neighbark, you may have already done this but please inform the local dog wardens, local vets, the RVC in Hertfordshire, the Wood Green Animal Shelter and other shelters covering the area. Send them a photo and, if at all possible, visit the ones you can. As Mojo is not chipped and there is always a chance that a tag may come off, he may have been handed in to a vet, animal hospital or shelter where they are unable to trace you. I hope you find him soon.
Unknown
If he has a car then also go for the garages in the local area, most will stick a poster up...good luck at least Mojo sounds like he is being looked after...
Neighbark
...and another thought. The man in the sports car - try and find out what kind of age he is, local accent etc. If he's young, then go to some of the 'younger' pubs, wine bars -those where those sort of cars might hang out. Trendy pubs, ask the landlords to put your poster up in a prominant place. Ask the landlords if they happen to know anyone fitting that description with the dark sports car. I'd also put an advert in several close-by towns, in the hope that someone might recognise Mojo. He is after all, a very recognisable little man, his star is very prominent, and I'm sure his image will stick in people's minds. Keep us posted.Last edited: 2011-10-13 22:00:51 by Neighbark
Neighbark
Oh I would so like to be able to come and help you search for him, but live close to Worcester.
I've got some ideas...firstly, can you ask around about the young man in the sports car. Does anyone know him, does he come regularly to the area. Can u find out from the lad who saw him that day - which make and model it was. Which direction was he travelling in? - and which direction had he come from? Go to several areas/villages/towns in both of these directions...and poster poster poster. also contact vets, wardens and kennels/dog homes in both directions, but especially in the direction that the car went towards. I think its really important to mention the car and driver as thats your only link/lead. That's what I would do, and very quickly. He's such a dear little man, I shall keep fingers, toes and all paws crossed for good news. Don't even think that you are 'bothering people' - the wonderful people who run 'Doglost', their helpers and ordinary people like me - are all thinking of you and little Mojo. You MUST bother as many people as you can - don't forget dog walkers and parks, its being persistant that gives you more chance of finding him.Last edited: 2011-10-13 21:55:40 by Neighbark

update from owner...
Sorry to bother you again regarding Mojo, but I received a call from
someone who had been approached by a man driving a dark coloured sporty
car with Mojo inside who he had just found walking along road by
Butlers Green Farm shop, near Radlett to ask if he had lost his dog.
The young lad didn't see my posters until after the meeting - approx 2
weeks ago. Would you add this to Mojo's file. Many thanks.

DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Email from owner...please help her by sharing on your facebook pages...may have been picked up and taken out of the area.

I am desperate to be reunited with my dearest friend Mojo who I
haven't seen since he went missing two weeks ago today. I am a retired
lady whose life is now so empty without him and would offer a reward
for any information leading to his safe return. I have spent days
searching for him, pinning up many posters, handing out leaflets and
visiting vets and dog welfare centres. Please help me to find him.
LauraR
Mojo was seen outside The Three Compasses Pub opposite Patchetts Equestrian Centre on the 28th September and again on the same day on the road down to the Toby Carvery towards the A41 so please can people in this area keep searching vigilantly.
