- Hi I am Sprites owner and we live south of Hailsham on the Pevensey Marsh! of course she could have gone any direction but normally if she escapes she goes for an hour or 2 and heads down towards the marsh as she likes to stop at the riding schools to say hello! We were in the garden with the dogs before they went to bed and she just sneaked away! She had her collar and id tag and she is chipped but as you say it could have moved in 7 years! have notified local vets, animal wardens ltd and our neighbours! also on Facebook too. very grateful for all your advice and help.

- Hi Zoe no have not called the vest so if you dont mind :). Barbx I will see the dogwalking Van tonight down at Aborts Wood so will let them know too..Pointerlady you could be right She is chipped one good thing providing the chip as not moved. I told the daughter that they must contact the highways but she said the dog dose not go on the road I said dogs do al-sorts when not with owner. She said the dog is over weight so may not fit down a rabbit hole.. and that depends.

- Have emailed Sprites details to everyone i know in that area.
Gloria the dogwarden has now retired sadly, as she was a great help when the local dogs went missing - apparently we are now covered by the animal wardens which isn't great:-( I did see one of their vans outside the kennels at Coggers Cross (can't remember the name of it off the top of my head) in the past few days but it may have been before Sprite went missing - they may be worth a phone call though just in case they are taking in strays - i know that Linden Lodge used to take them but am not sure if they still do. Has anyone called the vets in Horam & Horsebridge just in case she's been taken there? If not, i don't mind doing that, and also calling the kennels as well. - 2011-09-28 13:36 Pointerlady
- Unable to get an answer by phone from owner. I am thinking that they could mean Downash or Saltmarsh Lane. Both lie south of Hailsham towards Polegate. Mainly open countryside to the south so confirmation from owner is needed.

- Hi Pointerlady I rang the owner this morning but only got in touch with her daughter.........No it was me saying about Abbots Wood the daughter was saying that the dog would have to cross the road to get to it......It was her that was talking about the Marsh area As I'm new to this area as well I was not to sure where she was saying may be you could give her a ring to the number above. If you know the are better.

- I have just printed some posters for my mum to put up in the Horsebridge area. I am not familiar with the area you refer to as the Mash area but assume from the fact that you mention Abbotts Wood we are talking Hempstead Lane area and that a call to Linden Lodge Dog Kennels may be worth a try. Perhaps to know the location better would help to target the right place. Also Gloria the dog warden needs to know and all the local vets. Was Sprite wearing a collar as in the photo as the info sheet says no for tag and chip although in the comments is states that she is at least chipped? If not spayed, is she likely to be in season?
- 2011-09-28 10:29 doglady
- I spoke to the owners daughter this morning and she says that Sprite as gone missing before but never so long.I have advised that her mother should ring the dog warden and also highways and to look around all the livery stables near by in case she got shut in also any neighbours with garages. They have no posters up yet but have informed neighbours, I said she should get the posters up ASAP. She said they live near the Mash area, The dog is Chipped but she is not spayed. I will put posters up around the Abbots Wood area. The dog as been missing Since Sunday evening.
