This Dog was collected from Barnes Hill, who were going to PTS him on 10th October, by the dog warden for the area. He was assessed and his heart murmer was not deemed to warrant distruction so after his 8 day hold by the council, with no contact from his owner, he was placed for adoption and now is enjoying his time in a forever home. Loved as all dogs should be!Last edited: 2011-11-14 17:17:56 by 13579**

I've tried on various occasions to get in touch with Barnes Hill to find out what has happened with this little man, to no avail. Does anyone know please? I've wondered why he's not gone over to the blue.

PLEASE STOP!! The reason for puting dogs on to this site is to reunite them with their owners. The best way that this can be done is for an acurate description, hence the questions regarding breed, tail etc and a photo so that we can attempt to match this boy up with any missing ones, not only on this site but any others. Please can somebody give a rough guess at his breeding? Even better would be a photo. I have asked for a co-ordinator from yor area to contact when possible.

Puddies I agree but if you look at my first posting I'm asking people to not cut corners and to follow the rules web sites like this are great to spread the news as is facebook but if you were robbed you would still tell the Police as well as any websites that may help you recover you stolen items. Dogs, cats and all other animals are the same the councils spend a fortune each year to have these services so they should be used a lost dog is most of the time found in the area it lives so the authorities of that are should be notified. In this case the dog was found in Bromsgrove and was taken to Birmingham problem 1 nobody in Bromsgrove was notified problem 2. As I said in my original posting follow the rules dont cut corners do all you can if its outside your area say nothing and let others get on with it.
As for a nicer way to tell people maybe there is but the only complaint is from somebody who by their own admission is to far away to do be involved.
Jo yes the RSPCA did tell Birmingham Dogs Home but not Birmingham Dog Warden or the Bromsgrove Dog Warden so I'm afraid, in this case, they did not follow formalities, problem 3.

As we say the dog is safe its not going to die on 10th October so lets put an end to all this

Having traced the dog's home mentioned online, I eventually found it to be an RSPCA kennels who do follow formalities and presumably are in contact with the local dog warden. Hence my lack of effort - your words. I'm pleased the dog is safe. No - you don't know me. I don't crow about my actions. I would have presumed from your first outburst, that the dog was safe even if it's is untraceable, from your comments regarding this particular kennels. Not all strays are lucky enough to land in such premises, hence my regard for its wellbeing. As I said, I take exception to your rudeness, not your actions.
Puddies
The main thing is that the dog is safe, everyone on here gives up their own spare time to try and help dogs and owners that are in a desperate situation, either dogs who have not for what ever reason managed to get home, and desperate owners that are still searching. This website allows people to have a glimmer of hope. It is unrealistic to expect say someone who lived in the Southwest to phone a dog warden in southeast... it doesn't mean people care any less or that people shouldn't try and help by posting comments. We work as a team and often get good results, this is not the forum for negative/unhelpful comments and I have seen jobadger on various dogs files trying to help, which I am sure many owners are truly grateful for. n14elx you should feel proud that you helped this dog by phoning the dog warden but there is a nicer way of letting people know this...

I take exception to you lack of effort a dogs life is not geographic and you have spent more time picking flies in my comments than it would have taken you to call the dog warden and allert them of the issue. Have you not? Your experience is noted but is it 24 years experience or 1 years repeated 24 times I dont know I dont know you so you can decide that 1 many thanks but remember I helped save this dogs life you did not. END
jobadger
Perhaps you should read some of the other comments posted by me - and people like me. There are many throughout the United Kingdom who care and act in their own areas - no matter how much we try, we cannot all physically act in every geographical area, no matter how much we would like to. I act as I see fit and have worked through a breed rescue for nearly 24 years. As I said, preaching to the converted and I personally, take exception to your rudeness.Last edited: 2011-10-06 14:33:06 by jobadger

Jobadger I question if you are converted because I ask what you did? I can tell what you did not do you did not contact the Bromsgrove dog warden I know this because myself and 1 other were the only ones who did. And what a good job we did the dog is now in the custody of the dog warden and if his owner can not be found he has foster's fighting over him so he will not die on the 10th Cotober he will only ever be put to sleep if his health determins that.
So please Jobadger bring on your comments but remember before you do my comments were accompanied by actions and those actions saved this dogs life!

Perhaps you should remember n14elx that you might be preaching to the converted! I should possibly not put my thoughts into print! Last edited: 2011-10-06 11:07:58 by jobadger

Thank you for registering this old boy on here and for making sure he is safe. It amazes me how many motorists will drive past an animal who is oblivious to the dangers on a road. Hopefully the dog warden for the area he was found in has now been informed in case his owners have reported him missing. Do you have any idea what breed he is?
13579**
If correct procedures are followed and found dogs are reported to the council dog warden found dogs ARE NOT put to sleep after 7 days they are re-homed. I know for a fact that the Redditch dog warden has not had an unclaimed dog put to sleep for the last 17 years. This is because they have a set procedure to follow that ensures the best for the found animal so report this dog to the dog warden so they can do their job and get the dog back to its rightful place and stop cutting corners Do gooders are only any good when they work with the services provided they cause more problems by trying to do things themselves FOLLOW THE RULES
The Bromsgrove dog wardens number is 07799887536 call them
Remember actions like this could be why some dogs are never found by their owners!!Last edited: 2011-10-06 14:19:46 by 13579**

Is there any chance of a photo of this old fella? Has the DW been informed? Presumably the kennels will have access to local rescues/RSPCA etc.
Edit: Just realised/checked - Barnes Hill is the RSPCA so I hope they will consider re-homing if he's not claimed. We all grow old but that doesn't mean we should be unwanted. Last edited: 2011-10-04 20:32:15 by jobadger
