- Found 69779 dog described as a Great Dane loose in Bournemouth. Very thin and scavenging from bins, will not let people near. Someone has suggested it could be a Cane Corso. I am posting now simply because of that suggestion and the chain around its neck, like that on Rocco.Last edited: 2014-06-13 21:08:53 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

- Mobile number does not appear to be live either - have sent text asking to contact me urgently but dont hold out much hope - not my area so wondering if anyone could contact the dog warden /police covering this area just to see if theft was registered and there could be a name at least

- Don't know if Rocco's been found yet, but we have a Cane Corso & as there's not many in the NW, a friend contacted me today to tell me about a male Cane Corso, he'd met in Sale Water Park at the Weekend called Rocky/, name rung a bell with me, and looking here Rocco, could easily sound like Rocky/Rocky (if Rocco had a name tag on when he was stolen, they may well have just changed his name slightly so he would answer to them). Hope this helps if it is him, friend seemed to think they were local and told them about our Cane Corso and where we can usually be seen walking her, so hoping we may bump into tjhem and find out more

- SashaLeigh thanks for posting on Rocco's page, did you get the info/advice email and has it been forwarded onto owner? There is lots of info advice on things to do in it. Postering and media coverage are the way to get Rocco back.
I did speak to someone on the landline and they said they would get owner to ring back, which they did left a message and have not been in contact since. We needed more info to update the details.
Thanks Jackalee for your advice greatly appreciated. :) x - 2011-10-15 16:11 Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
- SashaLeigh. I stand corrected, there is a new dedicated dog warden for the Oldham and Tameside area - AT LAST!!! He is available on 0161 342 8355. He works between the hours of 8am to 4pm, Mon to Fri. It is still the Animal Wardens after hours and on the weekend. Please ring him Monday and log Rocco's details with him :)
- 2011-10-14 23:11 SashaLeigh
- Hi I will have a look on there now, I have never had a dog go missing before and I am quite annoyed at my friend for his carelessness. Thanks for everyones post I am really really hoping he hets back home i keep thinking the worst about bait dogs x
- 2011-10-14 17:03 Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
- Has Rocco been reported as missing to the Animal Wardens? Can't see him on there. There is no dedicated dog warden in the Tameside area, just the Animal Wardens who handle all lost/found dogs.
You can input the details on http://www.animalwardens.co.uk/ or you can ring them on 0845 241 7253. Make sure you include a photo.Last edited: 2011-10-14 17:05:10 by Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester - 2011-10-14 11:51 SashaLeigh

- Thanks Jan. Didn't even think of Atherton as it is the other side of Wigan and the Ashton bit through me, doesn't take much you know lol x

- 2011-10-07 23:36 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- Thanks Jackalee. :) It is a friend of the family who has registered the details on DL. We can confirm the details as soon as we are able to make contact with friend or family. I did wonder about the 01942 code. x
- 2011-10-07 23:29 Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
- Really not sure the postcode and area are correct on this one. M4 is the Ancoats/Collyhurst area of Manchester, City Centre. There is an Ashton under Lyne (OL6)Tameside and an Ashton in Makerfield (WN4) Wigan.
As the second phone number is 01942, this is a Wigan code so thinking the area should be Ashton in Makerfield, Wigan WN4. I might be wrong but its about 25 miles between M4 and WN4 so could make a huge difference for emails and helpers. - 2011-10-07 23:27 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West

- Sorry to see that ROCCO is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (33298)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
