- Hi Lennox. Just thought I would say hello, as I often read the comments on your page, and shed a few tears, as now for what you and your family went through, because of hard hearted people; that`s all I want to say about them. I know you are at peace now sweetheart, where no one can harm you, playing with all the other "Rainbow babies" One day Lennox you will be reunited with your family at the bridge, until then have fun. Will post again. Sending Lennox lots of love, cuddles, and kissesxxxxxxxxxxx

- The family of Lemmox seem to have gome very quiet on "The Lennox Affair" Does anyone know of any developments relating to the BSL Laws?
- 2012-09-02 17:47 Unknown
- SpringerMad. Thanks for bringing Lennox`s web page to our attention. I have just been on his web page, and hopefully with huge support the BSL aw will be scrapped. Also I read about Cody, and hope he will make a full recovedry soon. As for the low life sub-human scumbags who did this should be handed out a severe punishment, not just a "Slap on the wrist" I notice that the "Power that be" have gone very quiet on the "Lennox Issue" (Cowards)

Justice for Lennox and all the other dogs that have suffered the same fate.x BSL MUST STOP. - 2012-08-05 19:48 Unknown
- Does anyone know if Lennox`s family have started their campaign yet to stop this stupid BSL Law? It was amazing that he was seized and kept captive for 2 years because he resembled a "Pit Bull" type yet his DNA showed him to be an American Bull Terrier xd with a Lab. Retriever. Grrrr..... We will still try to get justice for you Lennox. Sending you loads of (((((HUGS))))) God Blessx
- 2012-07-24 21:26 Unknown
- Forgot to say that according to people such as Victoria Stilwell there has been an increase in dog attacks since the BSL Law was brought in. I think we all hope and pray that this BSL Law will be abandoned and another put in its place so other families do not have to suffer the same fate as Lennox and his heartbroken family. This could be called "LENNOX`S LAW" in his memory: just a thought. RIP Lennox

- Pilot`s mum. I also e.mailed the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, and have heard nothing either; there is obviously a cover up here otherwise surely someone would speak up. If you have geard the "Lennox Interview" Victoria Stilwell stated that in the two years Lennox was held captive, not once did he bite or attack anyone. In fact she said that when he jumped up for a bit of a fuss, Lennox would never put his full weight on the person. Does that sound like a dangerous dog? The DW also swore under oath that he never, ever bit her. (Think there were rumours?) I would urge all Lennox supporters to listen to the "Lennox Interview" online if still available. So come on if you have nothing to hide, those of you who where in favour of having an innocent dog PTS SPEAK UP NOW. We are still thinking of you Lennox. God Blessxxx
- 2012-07-23 17:45 Pilot's mum
- I still have not had a reply from the Secretary Of State for Northern Ireland..
If,as seems possible, Lennox died some time ago was the Appeal Judged aware of this?.If not what would have happened if he had allowed the appeal? If he was aware this throws into doubt the judicial system in the province.
Why did BCC not take his DNA to determine his breed - were they afraid of being proved wrong?
How can a dog be affectionate family pet for the first 5 years of his life and who had no complaints of being aggressive during that period suddenly become very unpredictable in the 'care' of the BCC ?? - 2012-07-21 20:51 Unknown
- Linda T I do know where you are coming from but I think these individuals responsible for the death of an innocent dog will refuse to comment or just "Pass the Buck", even though they know in their heart of hearts that they are guilty of a terrible injustice as regards to Lennox and his family who will have to continue to live with this tragedy. As for financial gain for a magazine or newspaper, they could donate to a dog charity in Lennox`s name or start a campaign to try to stop BSL, so other families dont have to go through this hell. Bless you Lennox. RIP
- 2012-07-21 17:42 LindaT
- Wouldn`t it be God`s miracle is someone...just one person, involved in this case and working in some capacity for the authorities or the dog wardens or the kennels or the vets .... just one person who has the courage to put the truth before their own interests, even if yes, they might be disciplined and/or be given the sack... wouldn`t it just be a miracle in that so called God-loving country to have the courage to tell the truth about what went on. And I hate to say it, but even if they lost their job for telling the truth, then I reckon they would make a financial recompense out of selling their honest story to the press and the magazines all around the world who have followed Lennox`s sorry plight. I know money should never come into this...but sometimes, as in a lot of criminal cases and searches for witnesses, a reward is offered in the hope of receiving the missing pieces of evidence. It really would be a miracle in the land of God...could it possibly happen, do you think?

- It is good to hear both sides speaking. I am still of the opnion that he was not a pitbull, and still waiting for their reasons not to let the family say goodbye, not to have the body back, not to return the collar and yet only to receive 'some' ashes in the post. That apart from all the other arguments is a no brainer to me, that he was dead some time ago, most probably from something to do with his incarceration. In America, human beings on death row from murder are given a last evening with their loved ones and the body is returned to the family. Lennox was not a murderer, just a family pet. There is no doubt, a cover up and until the BCC come clean with the truth about what happened during his time in their hands, there will always be a cloud over it. I did find an article that he had died some months ago at a Coran kennels in Downpatrick. Will need to find it. Whatever happened, the family do have a right to know. RIP Lennox, the fight for justice goes on xx

- Agree with Janiejewel, thankyou springermad for putting the link on for the "Lennox interview".It is very interesting and a must for all Lennox supporters. I still believe it to be a conspiracy by BCC, why wouldn't they release Lennox's body to his family so he could be buried. RIP Lennox we will not forget you.x

- Hi SpringerMad. Have just listened to the "Lennox interview" and also found this emotive subject interesting and informative. I hope others on this site will listen to it too; it`s a dont miss for Lennox supporters. All you need to do is to put "utube Lennox radio interview" and there it will be. I also think that BSL (Breed specific legislation) doesn`t work. RIP Lennox; you were unlawfully killed. Thanks again SpringerMad.

- KindAtHeart I have seen the site you link to aswell. I also believe that it was clearly the BCC behind that, and therefore will be skewed.
On you tube there is a radio show discussing the case. It is an hour and a half long but well worth listening to. Representatives from both side get to air their stories, and I found it really interesting. Link here.

- Hi KindAtHeart have seen the website it obviously has been made by either a council member or one of there supporters as they are the only ones telling the truth and everyone else is lying, but no one can deny a dog suffered at there hands for over two years and now he is DEAD. RIP Lennox BSL has to STOP.

- Pilot`s mum. I shall be e.mailing the Rt. Hon. Owen Paterson MP myself shortly. Thanks for his e.mail address, and also e.mailing Dispatches. I like some others who have posted on here think that Lennox had probably already died (Murdered) before the news reached the media. They did not want to ne proved wrong (Even though they were), As someone from DogsLost has already stated. "THE WHOLE THING STINKS" We will fight on to get justice for you Lennox, and your family. ~Neither you or your owners deserved any of this. It`s an absolute disgrace to you, your owners and all those all over the world who tried so hard to save you. God Bless sweethearet RIP+++

- Does anyone really receive ashes of a loved one through the post? too precious to risk a "lost in post senario" but leaves room to blame an incompetent employee once DNA discover they are not his ashes! Totally disrespectfull and undignified even for the bbc. Lets face it weve exposed them for what they are and this is before a public investigation. Killing Lennox bbc didnt put an end to the public uproar but infact did the opposite I suspect 50/50 chance was better than the no chance before you killed him... It skinks and as the saying goes if your defence against Lennox doesnt make sense then youve lied lied lied to justify your conviction. You are held accounable and we will see in court. This stinks of Lennox was alredy dead befo his final trial.

- Such a shame. Lennox is now at peace somewhere nicer. His misery , suffering and constant goading has ended. Why did it take them two years to see if he was aggressive? obviously he wasnt, they had to save face. They are an evil uncaring bunch and they shall never enter Heavens gates..straight to Hell for that lot. They should have allowed his family at least some quality time with him. Bless you Lennox you are free and happy with all our babes they will keep you safe. So sorry for his family. xxxx

- I don't believe Lennox ever showed aggression. On that video and more of it that we did not see, but Victoria did see, Lennox turned away when being goaded - showing clear signs of being a submissive dog, never aggressive. This is more lies in an attempt to justify their cruelty to the world, I am sure. Can't help wondering about the ashes too. So hope they are the real ones for his owner's peace of mind. I hope they are able to know for certain. For some reason BCC seem to be above the law. They've got away with murder and a lot more besides. So who do they have to answer to? Who is over them?
- 2012-07-12 22:48 LindaT
- HHmm a pity channel4 and others were`nt interested when it could have helped to free Lennox!! And I have to say I agree with Jane, I would not be surprised to learn at some point that Lennox has been at Rainbow Bridge for some time, due to ill-health caused by neglect and cruelty... and his collar went with him, I don`t suppose those who killed him and have no humanity would have even considered that any pet owner would ask for a collar back....they have NO IDEA of the love of animals that we have as their family.I can`t bear the thought of the suffering Lennox went through both physically and mentally. I cannot imagine what his family are going through and my heart goes out to them, and I pray that Lennox is happy now he is at peace and I pray that all those responsible for killing him are brought to account, they will be shown up for what they are ... scum!
- 2012-07-12 22:46 Lucy's mum
- Have been doing some research and it would appear that there are other Acts of law that have been violated in this case including the Human Rights Act (in terms of Lennox's family and the suffering they have endured for 2 years) and the Animal Welfare Act (in terms of the suffering Lennox suffered for two years). Other acts such as Freedom of Information, Data Protection and Disclosure of Information should surely come into force too. Is there anyone in the legal profession posting who can offer a view? As with many government departments is there a 'whistle blowing' policy within belfast city council in which someone would give evidence and be afforded protection - its hard to believe all employees are heartless or are they too scared that if they say the wrong thing or look the wrong way the will be PTS!

- Leaked Proof of Lennox innocence view youtube 'Belfast city council slapping lennox' Speaks for itself requests from around the world to Email dispatches@channel4.co.uk who have advised if they get enough emails they will do full investigation, state questions you would like to know... which are pretty obvious if you followed the full story.. For Lennox family's sake please everyone the truth needs to be told about the total cover up by bcc of the real facts. Tweet #boycottbelfast & #savelennox .. need to get this blasted around the world to get justice for lennox... to make sure this never happens again.
- 2012-07-12 21:41 Didothepbgv
- A freedom of information request could be put in asking when, where and by whom Lennox was PTS. That would answer the rumours circulating that it wasn't yesterday.
- 2012-07-12 20:54 Unknown
- Pilot`s mum. BCC say that Lennox showed some aggression whilst in kennels? No this was probably frustration after being taken away from his loving family, and then being confined to a small space in poor living conditions. Having once been confined myself to virtually one roon for six months with a broken leg, this I understand. This was frustration for poor Lennox; nothing to do with aggression. I have seen the video and there is no sign of any viciousness in poor Lennox. As for them not sendsing back his collar to his loving family, these individuals are selfish, heartless, cruel, uncaring, single minded and callous. And that`s just their good points. Jobadger I do hope BBC2 show the video. I also hope that those who murdered Lennox never have any peace day or night. May God forgive them because I/we never will. God Bless Lennoxxx PS I am also willing to donate to the cause, if it will help to change the law.

- I am devastated at the death of Lennox. I cannot get the misery etched on his face in those kennels out of my mind. That dog warden and all those involved in this are nothing but scum. I curse them with all of my being and hope they suffer everyday for this and rot in hell. I believe that Lennox died a while ago. There have been no up to date photos of him and no proof that he was alive until yesterday. I believe that the neglect he endured killed him. Victoria Stillwell is calling for an independent enquiry into this case and she has raised concerns regarding the condition he was in. Have a look on her Facebook page. RIP Lennox, you poor, poor boy xxx
- 2012-07-12 19:12 Stephanie
- I saw that video earlier - so sad to see him because he looks a lovely dog and you can def see the labrador in him as well, his mannerisms and build....and, if you watch that you can see a lovely, biddable gentle dog. Compare that to the picture of Lennox with his skin condition (perhaps caused by laying in his own mess?) and being held by a wire neck noose - a definate case of abuse and neglect by whoever's 'care' he was in.
- 2012-07-12 18:39 jobadger
- I've forwarded this video (as it's freely available on Youtube) to BBC2 asking them to forward it to the relevant department with the possibility of an enquiry into Belfast Council's actions. Don't know whether or not it will come to anything - but worth a try.
- 2012-07-12 17:33 Didothepbgv
- A video has been circulating today (shot 11 March 2011) showing Lennox with Belfast's DW and the specialist brought in by the Barnes family to assess him. Watch it, share it and then ask yourself whether perjury was involved:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=WZz2V0aCXmI - 2012-07-12 17:30 reilly
- It is an absolutely tragic case and seems to have snowballed due the BCC's inability to admit to a mistake. I've seen on the FB page a copy of the dog licence which states he was a bull-dog, something is just not right about the whole thing and I hope there is an investigation/inquiry.
Is it possible to have ashes DNA tested? On the assumption that the family still have something with Lennox's hair on would it be possible to see if there is a match? - 2012-07-12 17:00 Pilot's mum
- I certainly think there MUST be an inquiry.According to Belfast City Council Lennox showed unpredictable behaviour when in the kennels. He did not show this before he was seized..Even the most docile animal will show unpredictable behaviour when ill -treated or frightened, and the fact that they did not want his owners to see him after he was killed means that they wanted no one to see the condition he was in other wise they could be accused of cruelty.
Can an application be made under the Disclosure of information Act for BCC to disclose the reasons for not letting his owners see him?
Perhaps the URSPCA could help?
My sympathies lie with his family and I firmly believe that those responsible for this will eventually have to face a Greater Judge as we will have to account for how we treat animals but I want them to be tried NOW. - 2012-07-12 15:23 Sandra and Murphy cat
- I am devastated at Lennox's death and my heart goes out to his family..I still find it hard to believe that this is how it has ended.
Does anyone know what the next step is and how we can help?facebook has so many comments it's hard to know what is actually happening.maybe we could donate to help with an investigation?
Surely someone must give answers as to why his family couldn't see him or get his wee body home...when was he last seen??Last edited: 2012-07-12 15:26:19 by Sandra and Murphy cat - 2012-07-12 14:23 Robbie55ww

How can such small minds run a council, how can the people of Belfast put up with ancient minded, feeble bodied low life hiding behind Council doors?????

- RIP Lennox, free from 2 years of living hell and cruelty. Why your loving & heartbroken family weren't allowed to be with you, to hold you in their arms at the end I'll never know. I hope BCC rot in hell...if the general public treated a dog like you, Lennox have been treated for the past 2 years, they would be imprisoned for cruelty, and rightly so, yet BCC get away with it...HOW? WHY? You will never be forgotten by so many people. To say I'm furious is putting it mildly...you didn't need or deserve to be murdered.
- 2012-07-12 08:48 Unknown
- I know we are all very angry, upset and heartbroken by what has happened to Lennox, and so we should be, as this was a miscarriage of justice, by putting an innocent animal to sleep. However Lennox is no longer suffering, and playing happily at the bridge. I did hear a l;ittle of the interview with Victoria Derbyshire concerning Lennox, and it stated that his family are obviously devastated, and it is Lennox`s family now who need all the support they can get. I think we should keep fighting on to get this idiotic law changed soon, it would not suprise me if there is a resignation at bcc; who knows. Although I do understand people`s anger I do condemn a death threat that was allegedly sent to bcc and also threatening letters to some dog wardens in Northern Ireland. This wont help the cause, and will probably cause Lennox`s family more heartache. I know this is a small minority, and dont think for one minute that the people who post on DogsLost are guilty of it. LET US FIGHT ON, GET THE LAW CHANGED AND GET JUSTICE FOR LENNOX AND HIS HEARTBROKEN FAMILY. WE WILL NOT LET YOU OR YOUR FAMILY DOWN LOVELY LENNOX. Now go and dream in the sunshine about juicy bones. GOD BLESS. RIP+++

Still so angry and desperately sad for Lennox and his family... Just listened to Ulster radio interview aired earlier today, Victoria Stilman and a so called MP called Pat ?? who supposedly oversaw the killing of Lennox
Would love to have heard Victoria on that radio ulster.
Does any one know if they can still be listened to and if so is there a link?/ be grateful if there is to have it on here.
Lots of press coverage in the news. Interesting comment about the september dog show in Belfast- hope that too many voice their opinions to them!!
Thanks CJ - 2012-07-12 06:56 Cat
- No words can bring Lennox back, and we may have lost his battle, but be sure Len, we will fight this war for you and make sure your suffering was not in vain.
I can't allow myself to imagine what Lennox's family have endured over the last two years, or the pain they feel now. The only positive i can feel in this is that Len's suffering is now over.
Angel dreams beautiful boy, the sun is shining even brighter over rainbow bridge since you crossed it. May you finally breathe the fresh air and breeze through your fur, and be by the side of your family again.xxxx - 2012-07-11 23:19 scootjockey

- Crying so much for sweet Lennox. I am just so sick of the hatred in BCC. I so am sick to my stomach that they have murdered a lovely dog and caused so much to grief to a decent, law abiding family. What does it prove? Why does it mean so much to them to kill an innocent dog? I cannot believe the audacity of that council to make up lies for an official statement! This whole legal case has been a complete farce since day one. Lie upon lie. Make belief experts. Wrong house. Wrong dog. Perjury of dog wardens caught on film. A judge with no compassion. The DNA proving Lennox was never a pit-bull type. The fact that it was as plain as day that Lennox was NEVER dangerous, in fact, the very opposite. The fact that he was left to suffer in a cell. In any other legal case, any one of these reasons would have got the case thrown out and Lennox would be free. Even if this was all legal and just, which it was far from ever being, the fact that Lennox' family was never allowed to see him, nor to have his body returned, is just downright heartless. That alone proves to me, BCC is plain evil. What I find even more amazing is that no one in power in the UK stopped this. Why not? Nothing here has made any sense from the start. This is not rational behaviour, especially from those running a country. There has to be a whole lot more going on here. Why was it so important to BCC to kill Lennox? What harm could it possibly have caused to let Lennox live and leave the country? Why was it so important to kill Lennox and make themselves hated the world over? Are they really that evil? I think so. There is a whole lot more going on here and I think BCC needs to be investigated. This poor, precious dog and his family have been used as pawns in their political game of evil and corruption and shown their hatred towards the rest of us as well. For a country that claims to believe so much in God, I am saddened that those in power have not honoured God's request for compassion. Every one who played a part in this killing of an innocent soul and ruining the lives of his good, kind family, just remember who you will have to answer to when your time comes. You have judged as you will be judged. You showed no mercy and none will be shown to you. God bless sweet, innocent, beautiful Lennox who is now reunited with his family, albeit in spirit, but is safe from harm and looking forward to that joyous day when he and his family will be together again properly, never, ever to part. A part of my heart will always be with Lennox and his loved ones. xxx

- A Parting Prayer
Dear Lord, please open your gates and call St. Francis to come escort this beloved companion across the Rainbow Bridge.
Assign him to a place of honour, for he has been a faithful servant and has always done his best to please me.
Bless the hands that send him to you, for they are doing so in love and compassion, freeing him from pain and suffering.
Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss. Help me remember the details of his life with the love he has shown me.
And grant me the courage to honour him by sharing those memories with others.
Let him remember me as well and let him know that I will always love him.
And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise, please allow him to accompany those who will bring me home.
Thank you, Lord, for the gift of his companionship and for the time we've had together.
And thank you, Lord, for granting me the strength to give him to you now.
Amen ♥♥♥ - 2012-07-11 22:46 Julie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
- Absolutely heartbreaking - tears are being shed all over the world. Evil wicked people responsible for this. If any of us kept an animal in the conditions poor Lennox was subjected to we would undoubtedly be prosecuted and quite rightly so. RIP dear Lennox free from the hell you were incarcerated in. J. x

- Still so angry and desperately sad for Lennox and his family... Just listened to Ulster radio interview aired earlier today, Victoria Stilman and a so called MP called Pat ?? who supposedly oversaw the killing of Lennox .. he tried to stick to a script and talk over here but Victoria made him look stupid, it was obvious that he did not really know any facts, he actually called Lennox 'Leonard' twice!! He said that at least he had the nerve to take part... some nerve! Just another example of their diabolical attitude, I was outraged yet again... been emailing complaints again and will never forget this atrocity.. Your free from the bcc harm now Lennox X

- CORRECTION My neighbours daughter`s boyfriend. If you log on to BBC N.Ireland you will find an article on why they thought Lennox should have been pts. An absolute joke. RIP Cherub
- 2012-07-11 21:54 Unknown
- I have just been reading a report on why the bcc decided to have Lennox pts. It seems it was because he was considered unpredictable. A friend of mine used to own a Golden Retriever, who had the most wonderful temperament. She was about six at the time, and caused some concern when she lunged ar my neighbours boyfriend, she snarled growled, and bared her teeth, (For no apparant reason). It took all my neighbours strength to hold her back. Now that IS unpredictable. The family were told by police dog handlers that she sensed something not nice about the young man. She never did it before or since, and she wasn`t pts.

- I learned of Lennox's fate on listening to the BBC news today and felt sick to the very core. Like so many there are a range of emotions coursing through my body:
Hatred - unparalleled and uncompromising for the individual's responsible for this. You can't even begin to imagine the damage you have done and how much you have undermined your own positions of authority and trust;
Disgust - that those responsible denied Lennox's family from being with him at the end and therefore without one ounce of compassion;
Frustration - that the First Minister came in at the 12th hour - what about a week ago, a month ago, 6 months ago, a year ago, 2 years ago - or was this just a pathetic, feeble, attempt to try save face (and votes)!
Hope - that those responsible are big enough and strong enough to admit their mistakes, show remorse and by way of redemption join the campaign to prevent this from ever happening again. If not then hope that they endure the pain and suffering felt by Lennox and his family for the last 2 years in every breath they take for the rest of their miserable, sad lives and that, when their times come, they rot in hell!
Relief - that Lennoxs' suffering is over and he is free and happy at Rainbow Bridge;
Above all profound sadness that this has happened to beautiful Lennox and his loving family. Our thoughts are with you.

- Shame on you Belfast. Shame on the "experts" who condemned this innocent little man to death. How you can sleep at night is beyond comprehension. We must continue the work in the name of Lennox. We must continue to Boycott Belfast. There is a Championship Dog show being held in Belfast in September, which hopefully no dogs will be entered. RIP and god bless you little man. My sincerest heartfelt sympathy goes to his owners.

- Both Lennox and bcc will never be forgotten throughout the world, Lennox for paying the ultimate price for doing nothing wrong and bcc for murdering a family's pet.
We have seen the pictures, the deterioration of Lennox while in the 'care' of bcc, to say nothing of the mental cruelty that they have inflicated on him while he has been incarcerated. It isn't surprising that his family were not allowed to say goodbye or have his body back to bury. Lennox died looking into the eyes of strangers instead of being allowed to close his eyes for the last time held in the arms of his loving family. Are they really going to 'post' his ashes to his owners?? What cowardly, despicable excuses for human beings they are.
I suppose that bcc think that this will be the end of it and that things will die down now he's gone. That must never happen, the fight must go on or Lennox and every other dog that this happens to will have died in vain.
At some point in time everyone has to pay for the consequences of their actions, life makes sure of that as it's the only way any of us ever learn what it right. I think perhaps bcc have been so consumed with making sure that Lennox died they haven't realised that yet.
Lennox sweetie, they can't hurt you anymore. Thinking of you and your devoted family who fought so hard to the very end XX - 2012-07-11 20:15 Unknown
- The whole thing has been a fiasco from beginnig to end with the council and their wardens lying through their teeth......as cctv footage showed. They allowed poor lennox to get in such a poor state they could never allow anyone to see him alive or desceased. The only good thing is he will never have to suffer at their hands anymore.
Run free at the Bridge Little Len , safe in God's arms no one will ever hurt you again , but be assured The Lennox Army will fight on until ALL dog breeds are safe from BSL, seizure and death .xxLast edited: 2012-07-11 20:16:39 - 2012-07-11 20:13 fionap58
- I'm certain that poor Lennox was never going to be free, they just couldn't backtrack and had to justify their mistake by calling in 'experts'so that the court would never release him. You only have to look at cases of children removed from families who've done no wrong to see how very inflexible councils can be and in this case poor sad Lennox had to suffer years of neglect and loneliness so they could save face. They should hang their heads in shame.

- Poor, poor betrayed Lennox. I heard the dreadful news on the radio at lunchtime today and it reduced me to tears and I told Lennox how sorry I was that he'd been treated so cruelly. I also agree wholeheartedly with Angus's comments. I was so hoping that the morons at bcc (as Angus so rightly said, they don't deserve capital letters) would allow Lennox to go to Cesar Milan or elsewhere where he could have lived out his final years and to be loved again. This has just left me so very sad and heartbroken. My thoughts are with his family. Rest in peace dear and very much loved Lennox. Have fun in the sunshine at Rainbow Bridge gorgeous lad... xx

- I am so angry about this and I have nothing but total hatred for those responsible at Belfast CC. And as for the way they have ridiculed those who rang up today to find out whether Lennox had gone or not, it beggars belief. Lennox had more goodness and dignity than all of them put together. We should not let this go, these vile people should be brought to justice one way or the other.

I am so very, very sorry that dear Lennox could not be saved and my thoughts are with his family who did everything possible to save him. Run free at the bridge, darling Lennox - no-one can hurt you now xxxx

- I am in tears here, gratuitous cruelty is what this has been, and as SuzeeBee says, they have something to hide by not letting the family have Lennox`s body, unfortunately all the comments here will go over the heads of those who have done this, they have no conscience,no morals,no humanity and they are obviously above the law. I have felt sick to the stomach every time I`ve logged in to Lennox and wondering what other suffering he has been made to endure...well, no more suffering Lennox, they can`t touch another hair on your beautiful body and are not fit to wipe the floor where you walked. God rest your soul and play forever young at the Bridge, you will always be loved by your family and the world will never forget you or stop seeking justice for you and all the other dogs that are unfortunate enough to not be living on safer shores. I will never, ever visit this place of barbarity while I breathe. So sorry, my condolences to you Lennox`s family Last edited: 2012-07-11 17:10:46 by LindaT

- I do so agree with Angus and all other comments previously made. This IS "Murder in the first degree" However I think a lot of people will lose respect for the powers that be, (If they had any in the first place). Personally I think in view of this case, there should be some resignations from Belfast City Council forthwith, and I shall also keep writing too; this law needs to be changed so that Lennox didn`t die in vain. Perhaps we can do something in his memory, as he stole all our hearts, not just here, but all over the world. RIP sweetheart, and watch over your family, who really need your strength at this time. Sending them my prayers and thoughts for their undeserved grief. God Bless. Until you meet Lennox one day at the bridge, where no harm can come to you or your boy.

The family have been offered "some" ashes back in the post! How cruel and vindictive. God bless Lennox, you are in afar better place now where no one can hurt you, enjoy the freedom darling boy. DogLost is appalled that Belfast City Council failed to show any compassion for Lennox by putting him to death and not allowing him to be rehomed in the USA. The people who are intent upon killing you cannot be thought of as responsible adults capable of making decisions for the community they represent. They will find when their turn comes to be judged how the gods feel about their actions. I've no idea when they will murder you - be brave, gorgeous boy - it's their last controlling act over you. Official Statement From Lennox's Family:
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all again for your messages of support. We are sorry to say at the present time Belfast city council seem to be intent on killing our boy. http://www.northcountrygazette.org/2012/07/06/nyc_lennox/ - 2012-07-06 23:32 Beanie245
- Kimmybear we feel exactly the same. have emailed the Rt Hon lord mayor of belfast and posted on every blog...
Latest news today seems that there is a law they can challenge but had to be acted on today?? The lady who has offered Lennox sanctuary in the USA has it seem's actually flown over to Belfast as no one from Belfast CC has even sent a reply to her plea's.. Lennox has suffered so much one way or another he needs to be free..wishing and praying that someone, somewhere is willing to do the right thingX - 2012-07-03 21:10 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- This is like something out of the dark ages, not a modern civilised society. I am so angry and upset. Tears keep flowing. My wish is for Lennox to be rehomed in America and for the family to relocate to be with him. After everything that has happened, this is what they all deserve. If there is a millionaire out there, maybe they could help the family relocate. To be free of Belfast and draconian law and judges with no hearts. God bless you sweetest Lennox and your loving family. You will be together forever. I love you baby! x

- Like many others I was horrified to read the story of Lennox and his family. All I could do was sign the petition and this morning, also feeling helpless, emailed Belfast lord mayor office expressing my concern (lordmayorsoffice@belfastcity.gov.uk)
Also emailed USPCA who kindly replied and are supporting change in the present law to help prevent this injustice happening again.
Thoughts and support go out to brave Lennox and his family xx
- 2012-07-03 13:57 Unknown
- It makes me angry, there is no need to kill him there has been offers of homes in Southern Ireland which the North which is a different duiristiction all together with seperate laws.
- 2012-07-03 09:29 Millypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer
- If the judge has no intention of releasing Lennox to his family and there is an offer of a new home in America surely he could be sent there for a new life instead of being killed for no reason.
Thinking of you Lennox just hope the judge does the right thing by you. xx - 2012-07-03 09:13 Meru
- This is so unjust. Thinking of Lennox and his family but feeling so helpless....

- This is so so sad you have fought so hard to have your gorgeous boy back home with you, we can only hope that Lennox does get rehomed, my thoughts are with you all xx

Official Statement From Lennox's Family:
We apologise for the silence as we know our many friends and supporters around the world have been desperate for news but until we had further talks with our legal team we had nothing new to share. We needed to explore all possible options before we issued another statement as we did not wish to give those that have campaigned so tirelessly any false hope or for anything to be taken out of context as has happened in the past.
Whilst there may well be errors in the Judge’s ruling from a point of law this has little bearing on whether we can or should progress by taking the case to a higher court. The ruling is based on the Judge’s decision that he deems Lennox to be unsafe despite evidence given by those qualified to assess and understand dog behaviour that contradicts the testimony of the Prosecution that was presented in court. This has given us little room for manoeuvre.
Our concern and priority has always been the welfare of our beloved boy. We have fought to have Len returned to our family from the moment he was seized but we have been advised that the legal fight is at an end. We are obviously distraught but have to consider the impact that any future lengthy legal battle would have on Len if we chose to go against the advice that we have been given. We cannot subject him to any more as there are no grounds for a further appeal and we do not wish to prolong his suffering any longer by engaging in a battle that we simply cannot win.
We have attempted to write this statement many, many times but have struggled to put in writing that the fight to spare Lennox’s life may well be over. It has been almost impossible for us to accept that we have to admit defeat. We always believed that there was some hope and that justice would prevail. We were wrong. There have been many dark days for us since Len was taken and we want you all to know that it is your support and kindness that kept us going through the blackest times.
This is all we can share with you at the moment and we are finding it hard to come to terms with the fact that there is nothing more that we can do from a legal point of view and that Lennox may well be killed. We have one last hope that Belfast City Council will allow Lennox to be rehomed in the USA. The offer is there but we have no say in whether this offer will be accepted. We have never refused to rehome Lennox. That decision was taken out of our hands from the moment Len took his final walk with us from our house to the Dog Wardens van.
If the offer is turned down we will fight for our right to say goodbye. We cannot bear the thought that Lennox will die without being reminded of the hearts and hands that love him.
Thank you. - 2012-06-29 11:49 Millypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer

- Must apologize to the ISPCA, it was the USPOCA who have not replied to my e.mails, not the ISPCA. This case just keeps going round in circles. Love you Lwnnoxxxx ((((HUGS))))

- Has anyone heard any more concerning Lennox`s fate? I e.mailed the IFAW about his poor living conditions (allegedly) and was told it is up to the ISPCA, who have not had the courtesy to reply to my 3 e.mails. I hope the dog whisper, Cesar Millan from California who has become very interested in the sad case of Lennox can help let Lennox live. Will be out of the UK for a short time, but am praying we get a positive result in the case of lovely Lennox. Hang on in there Lennox. There is so many, many supporters on your side. All my love to you sweetheart. God Blessx (((((HUGS)))))

- Thank you Jobadger, you are absolutly right. It just goes to show that there is more than one LENNOX out there. Jenny4 I agree with you to and would like Serendipawty to explain how she can be so sure. On a brighter note "OUR DOGS" has given the front page to Lennox this week which is really heartening. They have also given "KIP Blind" a mention to.Last edited: 2012-06-22 10:18:00 by k9chum

- The plight of this poor dog is breaking my heart and I am still hoping that he can be saved and some sort of amends made to him for the heinous crime mankind has committed against him. I have been emailing everybody and anybody earlier this evening before coming on here. What kind of species are we that we can do things like this to god's creatures? I am ashamed to be human :(
- 2012-06-21 21:21 Johnboy...
- My heart breaks for Lennox and his family - no words too strong, this is SO wrong !!! How come dogs who look like Lennox ( in Swindon) are allowed to bite and act dangerously and nothing is done ?. It is NOT acceptable what is happening this poor dog. Belfast City Council do not represent anything near the majority of Northern Irish people so why do dimwits try to boycott it??? This is about the heartbreaking wrong decision of "planker" council dopes......dog lovers in Northen Ireland do care!!!! Back off boycotters, clean out your own glasshouses. Love and RIP Lennox , this world is too cruel.
- 2012-06-21 21:09 jobadger
- This is why I came off FB jenny4 and will not go back to using it. I am dismayed at what is being said/thrown around/written.
A dog has been incarcerated for over two years now - and is still being allowed to suffer under the vilest of conditions. He's now become a pawn in a right/wrong scenario. I feel so very, very sorry for Lennox.
Serendipawty - why come on Doglost to say that?? Whoever it is, no animal should be kept in such conditions, supposedly in 'care'.Last edited: 2012-06-22 06:45:27 by jobadger - 2012-06-21 18:18 Unknown
- serendipawty if it wasnt his photo then perhaps you can explain how you know this and also who the dog is , because whatever the dogs name is it is disgusting state and needs reporting to the RSPCA.
On facebook there is a person who is trying to say that they are freinds of the dogwarden who lied in court and all that has come out about her is not true even though a cct tape proved her to be lying. While I am not getting involved in slanging match but I am very interested to know exactly how you come to have this information. - 2012-06-21 13:56 dewilliams42
- no, i did'nt know that. why put a false picture on/
- 2012-06-21 12:59 Serendipawty
- You do know that pic isn't Lennox, don't you?
- 2012-06-21 10:17 dewilliams42
- i did read in the paper that they cant just put lennox to sleep as the family still have the right to take their case to higher courts but perhaps the costs are beyond reach. but i believe that the conditions hes being kept in and the state this poor dog is in is a case in itself.
- 2012-06-21 08:20 Tillie
- I cant believe this has gone on for so long. My heart goes out to Lennox's family and to Lennox for going through this for so long.
- 2012-06-20 23:20 LindaT
- I feel sick to my stomach every time I read what this poor babe is going through, it`s cruelty full-stop!! If Lennox were to walk out of that cell I very much doubt he could possibly be the same dog that went in, mentally or physically. I think those who have done this to Lennox should hang their heads in shame, they are spineless to have made him suffer just because they are too weak to admit they have made errors of judgement, it takes a heart and guts to stand up and say " I was wrong " and " I lied " and these weak people are just too gutless, I am ashamed to be a part of the human race that can do this and sleep at night. If anyone else had treated an animal like this for a week let alone 2 years we`d be up before the courts ourselves, quite rightly! Heartless, the lot of them.

- Couldn't agree more fionap58.
- 2012-06-20 21:40 fionap58
- I saw Lennox's story on The Wright Stuff and what they were discussing was the councils decision not to allow the family to visit him to say goodbye before he's pts in a months time apparantly. I can't help thinking for Lennox's sake it would be better of he wasn't reminded of his family and then see them walk away again. Can't imagine how traumatic that would be for him after all this miserable time he's spent apart from them.
The whole thing is completely shameful and inhuman for all concerned and if he really has to be pts perhaps his family could be with him at the very end so he has a little joy before he slips away in peace. Very sad all round. - 2012-06-20 20:28 Millypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer
- Thinking of you Lennox.Looking at the photos of you on your website is very sad, how much longer can these people keep you locked away from the world its cruelty beyond belief.

- Lennox even has the Dog Whisperer Cesar Milan in his corner - surely Belfast council cant ignore that!
Hugs to a very special boy, and much love to his family. I hope we get the right resolution to this - 2012-06-20 15:38 B30

- K9chum Good for !OUR DOGS"weekly. Let us all hope the USPCA do something about it SOON. I think K9chum as far as the child who was injured goes, it is the responsibility of the parents. You are right they dont look like full Staffies as was said on the news, but xd. If they are, im a Toy Poodle. Sending Lennox lots of cuddles andxxxxxxx. Thinking of his family too.
- 2012-06-15 18:46 k9chum
- "OUR DOGS" weekly newspaper has done a feature on Lennox this week. There is also a photo of him in his hovel. They have told it as it is and I hope Belfast City council read it and hang their heads in shame. Could someone please expain to me how a staffie cross in Swindon can savage a small child even though the child had wanderd where he should'nt and the owner not be prosecuted (the dog was destroyed). This dog had also bitten two police officers in an earlier incident and no action was taken as it was on the owners property. There has to be something seriously wrong with the way different people interperate the DDA. Swindon do not care to much and Belfast have gone TOO FAR>

- I'm heartbroken for the boy, too, but I can't say that another petition is the way to go. He needs to go in peace. Sorry if this upsets anyone - but I think enough is enough for the lad. I've worried all along about his mental state during the length of his captivity and his physical state has been witnessed worldwide. He must be weary, poor lad. The pros and cons of his trials and tribulations will continue to be fought about long after his journey to the Bridge and it is important to learn lessons from him so that mistakes cannot be made again. Lennox - William is waiting for you. Take care. xx

It was just "The powers that be" Also Lennox will be in a much safe place where no harm can come to him: where he wont be judged. He will be in God`s care, wearing his wings with pride, playing in the sunshine with his pals, and one day he will be reunited with his loving family. No one can ever separate them again. - They stopped crating baby calves for veal because it was deemed cruelty, how is this treatment of Lennox not the same. I think they are all disgusting and any human being with a shred of decency would AT LEAST let him be with his owners before he has to lose his life for NOTHING... disgraceful, poor Lennox, when the time comes and you take your last breath, know from all of us dog lovers, who have been following your case and praying for a decent outcome, that we will shed tears of sadness for you and your family...

- I have read many articles on this case from both sides over the last two years. Not only limited to the breed of dog Lennox is and what started this whole situation, to things that have allegedly been said by the owners and authorities. Like most of us on DogLost, we don’t know 100% what happened but none of us can dispute the fact that a dog has been made to suffer for two years. If the photos and articles are to be believed, that Lennox has spent the past two years in a small concrete cell with sawdust on the floor, no bedding what so ever, and hardly any human contact, then there must be a European court that this cruelty can be taken to. If any of us were found to keep a dog in those conditions, we would, without doubt, be prosecuted. None of us ever want to make the decision to end a dog’s life but at the end of the day, Lennox Is suffering. It’s got to stop being about the owners and the authorities, it’s got to be about Lennox and what’s best for him. He is obviously never going to be released or that would have happened already. I’m sorry if my post upsets anyone but I really don’t care about the authorities or the owners; I only care about what they both have put Lennox through for two long years. With every judgement and appeal Lennox is made to suffer even more. May be it’s time to let Lennox have some peace. X
- 2012-06-12 14:03 Unknown
- So sad after all the suffering he has had. Not surprised really, he could have been sent to Southern Ireland where they are not banned. Hope the judge can hold their head up after all the lies that have been told. I am so angry

In fact I hope they rot in God`s hell; i`m not usually a vindictive person. bu this beggars belief. - Lennox , you have been on all our minds - Today we hope that the judge sees sense and does not let the lies and inconsistencies that have plagued this case all the way through get in the way.
Today is a day to make a positive change & to put right the awful situation, today is not a day to cover other peoples backs , today is the day to stand up for common sense and make a decision that will make a difference, today is the day to say " Free Lennox and End BSL "
This case has been a travesty of justice from day one - we beg you to listen to reason and listen to qualified expert advice and then based on that DO THE RIGHT THING

- Meru. I agree with you; this does amount to cruelty. I have today, and once again e.mailed the USPCA this time using a different e.mail address to see if there is some loophole, so these individuals who are taking so long to make a decision can be brought to account, like the rest of us would be. Hopefully this time the USPCA will reply. All xd for Lennox who doesn`t deserve any of this. Sending Lennox loads of ((((HUGS))))) and many, many cuddles. We are still rooting for you Lennox. God Blessx

- Have e.mailed the uspca in Ireland regarding the living conditions of Lennox and his long term stay to see if there is a loophole somewhere in this case. A longshot i know but i really think that someone should be called to account for this case. Will give it a little time to see if they respond to my e.mail (Hopefully they will). Will post one way or another. Love you Lennox xxxxxxxxxx

- IF A DECISION HAS TAKEN 2 YEARS THERE MUST BE SOME HOPE FOR LENNOX. WHY CANT THE JUDGE ALLOW HIM TO GO TO ONE OF THESE PEOPLE WHO HAVE OFFERED TO TAKE HIM-SURELY THIS WOULD BE A MORE HUMANE DECISION TO MAKE FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED.

- millypod. I have tried to find out the equivalent of the R.S.P.C.A. in Belfast, but cant seem to find it. You are right, I think there must be a loophole in the law, so that case of Lennox can be treated as a cruelty case, especially if the conditions he is living in are poor. Nobody is above the Law. Perhaps someone who lives in Belfast, and posts on this site could advise us. Sending Lovely Lennox lots and lots of love and kissesxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. We have not forgotten you sweetheart; and wwe will all carry on the fight, until we get you home.

- I can't believe that this poor little mite is still being held away from his home and family and under threat of death? What is this all about? It seems that the more attention his family bring to the case, the more pig-headed the authorities become. Using an innocent animal as an example. It would be pathetic if it weren't so cruel.
- 2012-04-13 22:00 Millypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer
- Thankyou for the update. Lennox has been away from his family Locked up away from everyone for nearly two years now in appauling conditions according to the picture on his website, this in itself is cruel and you would hope is against the law. I would hope that the rspca or Belfasts equilivant should be able to intervene in this and release Lennox or aleast make a decision instead of keep dragging it out.
We are thinking of you Lennox.xx - 2012-04-13 19:54 Unknown
- lesleyjane. You are indeed right, this case goes on and on and on.... I do hope there will be a positive outcome in the case of Lennox; e.g. To be back in a loving home, not waiting around for Judges who parade around as human beings. At this rate the decision wont be until "The year 2525", as te solng goes. We are all still rooting for you Lennox and will carry on tghe fight. Thanks for the updates on Lennox.

- UPDATE EMAIL IN ADMIN.....
Good morning. If you remember, I live in France and can't automatically get on your sites, but I look at them regularly and think you do an excellent job.
Please could you paste the following news about Lennox: "Lennox's case is going to be 'mentioned' before the Courts on April 20, whatever that means, and then there will be an appeal hearing on 24 May. I think this will be the final one, and if the Judge persists in his decision, the family and the Save Lennox team can then fling themselves at the Court's mercy and ask for him to be sent to a jurisdiction that doesn't have BSL, and a lot of people, particularly in the States, I believe, including dog behaviourists and even a friend of a celebrity dog expert, have offered to take him. It is worth looking at Lennox's Facebook page for information, and if you do you will see that some people are calling for an organisation called the USPCA to look into the case. I and many other people feel that pressure should be increased on the courts etc. before the final dates as this dog and this family do not deserve to be treated like this. People are suggesting peaceful sit-ins in front of the Courts, but this is difficult when you live in the south of France like I do, and I think but am not sure that most people on your pages live in England. Whatever, this case has been very widely publicised, but despite this I read somewhere that not many people are turning up to the court hearings. It is not always easy to get the truth from what you read, particularly as there is a violent anti-Lennox brigade, but this is the best information I an give you at the moment. If you do have a moment, please look at Lennox's Facebook page, as it tells you what you can do to help. Lennox's case has already saved several other dogs, and it would be terrible if it can't save him. - 2012-04-07 21:26 Unknown
- When is a decision going to be made on this poor dog? This has gone far enough; expect it will be sometime never. Come on you so called humans. Have one thing to say Grrrr. We are still rooting for you Lennox. We will not give up on you until you are reunitedxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

- Lennox Case Listed For Review In High Courts Late March
Saturday 3rd March 2012, The globally followed and supported Lennox case again waits for some kind of decision to the fate of innocent Lennox. Although no definite date has yet been confirmed by Northern Ireland courts service it is known however that in the coming weeks, sometime in March, Lennox’s case will be reviewed by the High Court during which Lennox’s legal team will again put forward a request for Lennox to be exported out of Northern Ireland to one of many homes he has been offered internationally some of which have come from dog experts and even a friend of a celebrity dog behaviourist. Further updates will be posted here once received.

- dewilliams42. You are probably right about this Judge not seeing Lennox. He no doubt lives in Fairyland. If this dog is living in such terrible conditions, as I have no doubt he is, then this is cruelty at one of its worst. I am going to try and contact the R.S.P.C.A. in Northern Ireland (Or the equivalent) to see if there is a loophole in the law. PS THEY SHOULD SAVE LEMMOX AND PUT THIS STUPID JUDGE TO SLEEP INSTEAD.
- 2012-02-04 11:28 dewilliams42
- JANIEJEWEL 1649.
I WONDER IF THE JUDGE HAS ACTUALLY SEEN THE DOG HIMSELF OR IS JUST ACCEPTING WHAT OTHERS SAY? THAT POOR DOG HAS BEEN KEPT IN TERRIBLE CONDITIONS ALL THIS TIME AND DESERVES A MEDAL TO STILL BE SO GOOD NATURED. - 2012-02-03 21:10 Unknown
- dewilliams42. I agree with you entirely. By the time this idiot of a Judge comes to a decision. it will be Judgement Day for all of us. Does anyone know any more yet?
- 2012-01-29 18:28 dewilliams42
- I THINK THEY SHOULD GET A SECOND OPINION FROM A DIFFERENT JUDGE-THIS ONE SEEMS BIASED AND DETERMINED NOT TO STEP DOWN. HES NOT LOOKING AT WHAT THIS MEANS TO THE OWNERS.
- 2012-01-27 21:19 Unknown
- dewilliams42. Thanks for the update. I would like to say that these people have as much compassion as a rattlesnake, but that would be unfair to the rattlesnake. This now has got to be cruelty to an animal, and should be dealt with as such. How you people sleep of a night defeats me. But that is what one would expect from hard hearted people like these. Sending Lennox lots of love and kisses.xxxxx
- 2012-01-27 19:44 dewilliams42
- I JUST LOOKED ON LENNOX'S FACEBOOK PAGE AND SAW A PHOTO OF THE WHAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS A PRISON PLACE WHERE HE HAS BEEN KEPT FOR ALL THIS TIME. THIS CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS CRUELTY. I THOUGHT JUDGES WERE SUPPOSED TO BE INTELLIGENT COMPASSIONATE PEOPLE. MY HEART BLEEDS FOR THIS POOR BOY.

- 2012-01-23 20:46 Sherlock Bones Police Liaison Co-ordinator
- we've been asked to add the following from a helper:
"Yesterday I googled Lennox dog January and discovered an article written by the North Country Gazette www.northcountrygazette.org/2012/01/21/help_lennox-2/ It described the efforts made by an American association called The Lexus Project (Larisa Scharikin, email russprin1@yahoo.com) to contact Lennox's family as they have considerable legal and successful experience in situations such as his and feel they could help, although the laws are different in the States. I looked at their website and it indeed seemed worth giving a go. Despite trying to contact Lennox's family via the official Save Lennox website, Facebook and the Belfast Telegraph, they are getting no response. When I went back into the article to check something, a message came up on the Google reference page asking if I wanted to block references to the North Country Gazette. Obviously I ignored it, as it is the only apparently regular and reliable source of information there is on the Lennox case. Entries on the Save Lennox Official Website and the Official Campaign Blog are few and far between, and I do not use Facebook or Twitter, although I managed to get onto the official Lennox Facebook page where the last entry was dated October 2011. Due to alleged tampering with the Facebook page, possibly unreliable information in the Belfast Telegraph and the general blocking of information about Lennox, I am beginning to understand the extent and scope of the anti-Lennox brigade, or shall we just call them the forces of evil, in blocking these efforts. I have had the impression for a while that this case is no longer about a dog and his family, but is about stubborn people seeing who can wield the biggest stick. Time is now of the essence and Lennox and his family need all the help they can get and very quickly. I call on the forces of good to reunite this dog with his family or to save his life and restore the quality of life he deserves."
Many thanks
JuliaM - 2012-01-23 19:58 Ash
- I cannot believe this poor boy has had to endure such terrible treatment for so long, what the hell do they expect to gain from all of this, he has done nothing to deserve this, just because of his breed, for gods sake ireland do the right thing and let this beautiful innocent lad go back to the family that love him so much and for the thousands of us dog lovers who so so want this to now come to an end for lennox, i just cannot imagine how a bunch of so called human beings can allow for this to happen, my heart breaks for lennox and the thought of him now on medication for his stress just makes it so much worse. Why the hell if he was such an awful dog did they not end his suffering 2 years ago, bloody beaurocracy thats all this is, i am praying for you lennox, we all love you and just hope that justice is done for you special lad and that you are sent home where you truly belong with the people who love you. A living nightmare for all. xxx

- If the dog warden has admitted perjury, then surely this should be treated as an unfair "trial" As for Judges, they are a law unto themselves and do not always live in the real world. Lennox has done nothing wrong and should be reunited with his heartbroken family. It is nice to know that there are so many people who have so much compassion for this boy and his owners, because all those of you who are against sending Lennox home have none at all. Do tghe right thing and free Lennox now.
Do you want to be remembered for putting an innocent animal to sleep? Sending Lennox lots of hugs and kisses and his family loads of comforting hugsxxxxxx Will pray for you and your boy. - 2012-01-23 12:07 Zeus

- I am horrified to hear what's happening to Lennox and his family! Is this so-called "judge" actually LISTENING to canine behviour experts when they say Lennox is showing signs of restraint in highly stressful and provocative situations??
Oh my Gosh! I hope he is not put to sleep. That verdict would be cruel and crazy. I hope there is a stay of execution. Prayers for Lennox and his family XX - 2012-01-22 12:19 boxerangel
- Iactuallt thought that seeing as the dogwarden in question has admitted perjury that on that alone Lennox should be free'd!!!!! Is that not the case in any court of law no matter where it is?Also the 'so called' behaviour person admitted lying and that lennox was nothing but gentle. So,why do lennox's owners not have their dog back? What is going on in Ireland? Why is the same judge each time hearing the case, surely that is biast???? I would not like to be in ireland if they kill this beuatiful innocent boy!!! Do the right and only thing you should JUDGE before its too late and RELEASE LENNOX. doggie cuddles and tummy rubs being sent to you beautiful boy xx

- This whole case is legalised Cruelty To Animals... and I thought we lived in a civilised society, how wrong could I be???? I hope this "medication" being administered to this poor dog is not just to drug Lennox into being the sort of character "they" are trying to make him out to be...a spaced out dog on drugs can act quite out of character...how convenient would that be if Lennox did something under the influence he wouldn`t normally do..."they`d" be quick to jump on that and say "we told you so!!! " Cruel, cunning and despicable cowards...haven`t got the guts to admit they are wrong and they are liars :-( God help Lennox, please dear God, have pity on this poor dog LindaT

- dewilliams42 and slabcabbage. Well said. If the decision is made for Lennox to be PTS I too will never forgive them, and hope one day they will get their comeuppance. These heartless individuals should be ashamed of themselves for letting a family go through this ordeal. I am so angry and upset like we all are, but if the hearing is not until the 26th, then we can keep praying and hoping cant we? If Lennox is PTS or not those responsible for his poor health whilst in kennels for this amount of time for no apparent reason should face a charge of "Causing unnecessary suffering to an animal" Especially if his health has deteriorated as stated. WE WILL NOT GIVE UP THE FIGHT TO SAVE LENNOX. God Bless Lennox and his family, and sending loads of hugs to them and their gorgeous boy.

- The worst news. This dog and his family have been made to endure the most dreadful suffering and loss. We can only hope common sense prevails and Lennox is set free. I am devastated that the authorities seem to have lost sight of the people and dog in the centre of all this, and it appears to have become a battle of wills. God bless Lennox and keep praying for him x

- IT SEEMS SOME PEOPLE HAVE NO COMPASSION AND ARE NOT MAN ENOUGH TO SAY PERHAPS THEY HAVE MADE A MISTAKE. THIS LITTLE GIRLS PARENTS ARE MATURE SENSIBLE PEOPLE, USED TO DOGS AND CERTAINLY WOULD NOT HAVE KEPT HIM OR BE FIGHTING FOR HIM IF HE WERE DANGEROUS. I JUST HOPE THIS DECISION IS REVERSED BEFORE A CHILDS HEART IS BROKEN.

Agree with janiejewwl1649 selfish is not the word
It's a pity they are not as hard on the two legged human dregs that walk this earth.
what ever has this dog done to suffer so much in kennels that he needs medication.

- Paw. Thank you for the update on Lennox. This has gone far enough. Hopefully the judge will see sense and send Lennox home to his family. Some of these people must be the most uncaring, selfish people that God ever put breath into. Sending Lennox absent healing for his kennel stress and loads of cuddles from me.xxxxxxxxxxxxx
- 2012-01-17 14:43 Paw
- Juat checked Belfast Telegraph online and eventually found a report from 06/01/12 saying that judge will make a decision by 20/01/12. Let's hope it's a better one than the one that have been made so far. Apparently Lennox is now on medication because of the stress of being in kennels. Maybe it's worth emailing more complaints re the medication.
Didn't check if there were any reports after the 6th.Last edited: 2012-01-17 14:44:21 by Paw - 2012-01-08 20:12 Unknown

Hope they make a decision soon, poor Lennox. - 2012-01-05 20:41 Flo
- I've just check the savelennox website and this seems the most recent update on there:
"Many of Lennox’s supporters and his family thought that the courts may have given their decision before Christmas but as the new year approaches it now looks unlikely there will be any news from the courts regarding an appeal decision, the next news from the courts is now expected in the first part of the new year."
Really hope he is home soon, it is taking far to long! Flo x - 2011-12-22 20:44 Unknown

- I have had a look on facebook and some the listed links about Lennox. There doesn't seem to be any updates-the latest Twitter update from the 12th Nov says there was no court hearing on the friday and when there is a confirmed court date they will let everyone know. Here is a link to lennox's own website but its down at the mo: http://www.savelennox.co.uk/. Fingers crossed there is some good news soon x

- Do we have any update on what is happening to this poor dog, why can`t the authorities be big enough to admit they have made a huge mistake and release him to his family, this is bordering on animal cruelty to keep him locked up and an abuse of the Human Rights of the family, surely??!!

- It is very hard for those in authority to admit a mistake and takes a great deal of moral courage to do so,sadly it seems that Belfast City Council lacks this courage and have no sympathy for the child whose companion they have seized.I hope that the judge in this case reads these posts and has the insight to realize that no parent would allow a vicious dog into the house and would certainly not have one as a companion for a disabled child.
I hope and pray that Lennox is released very soon, this tragic mistake by Belfast City Council rectified and he is back with his loiving family.xx. - 2011-11-01 20:31 Rachel - Bucks volunteer

- I QUITE AGREE WITH YOU JOBADGER. THIS POOR DOG NEEDS TO BE HOME WITH HIS FAMILY. IT IS JUST SO CRUEL KEEPING HIM IN ISOLATION SO LONG-HE MUST BE SO BEWILDERED. PERHAPS YOU SHOULD SEND YOUR POST DIRECT TO THE BELFAST CITY COUNCIL INCASE THEY DONT LOOK AT THESE POSTS.
- 2011-10-28 10:51 jobadger
- To anyone from Belfast City Council reading this:
Lennox' detention was incorrect - it was illegal and now you - Council members - find yourselves in a very difficult position. Multiple experts have assessed Lennox and confirm that he is not a public threat - the evidence surrounding him does not indicate that he is dangerous. Do the right thing, accept your mistake and return him to his home. Pet dogs need socialisation and love to be provided as often as possible. Consider what you are subjecting this dog to and the disgusting conditions in which he is being kept (incidentally - why a secret location - are you so ashamed of your actions?)because of an unfortunate mistake in guessing his breed and the unquestionable ignorance of those refusing to acknowledge in this particular instance that YOUR DECISION IS WRONG. Enough is enough - the world is still watching in ever increasing numbers - do you wish to be judged solely on this issue - or on a compassionate act of reconciliation?
I've also emailed BCC and various departments again this morning.Last edited: 2011-10-28 10:56:16 by jobadger - 2011-10-24 10:38 Jayne - Founder Doglost.

- There is a short piece of film on Save Lennox facebook page showing lennox licking the face of the supposed expert who has said that she can't be in the same room as him because he is so vicious..it also shows a man taunting lennox with food to encourage him to jump up...it has been proven that he isn't dangerous and we all just want him returned to his family.

When others go out to play I at home have to stay,
But I was never sad or blue because Lennox I had you.
You were my friend when I felt alone,
You were always there to hear my groans
You were my friend when I felt ill and cold.
Why did they take you? You did as you were told.
You loved me when there was nobody there
You felt my sadness like The Lord hears our prayers
And I am praying now Lennox- praying so hard.
PLEASE DEAR LORD let my Lennox stay safe from harm.
I know he will be missing me. I know he will be sad.
What did he do that was so bad? Nothing at all- I know that.
Please let my Lennox come safely back.
He's been away so long my heart will not mend....
Please please Save Lennox my bestest friend.

I lost my Pitbull cross a few months ago , i'd had Reg for 12years, I grew up with all sorts of dogs, Reg was wonderful,so good with my 3 children too. it pains me that the media and government have painted this incorrect image of bull terriers, when will people realise these are loving loyal dogs, its the scum that train them to be nasty or abuse them that are the problem, not the breed.

Why is it that in some areas people with legal powers feel so powerful that they can do what in any other area would be deemed illegal? Can they sleep well at night? Angels watch over our dogs too. - so many dogs are put to sleep in ireland each year so many dogs are ill treated neglected an abused in ireland murders get 10 years and are out in 5 years to carry on their life, what has the council done about this, nothing!!!!! ireland has a bad reputation as far as how they treat their animals and yet poor poor lennox has done nothing wrong to anyone kept for months and months away for his family in appauling conditions, this is neglect by the council,is totally unfair to do this to any animal, because he looks wrong they have decided to murder him for what???? for being a dog, his family adore look after him and do all the right things, perhaps council money would be better spent on closing illegal breeders down dog abusers etc etc, there is no justification for this at all and the dog warden who commited perjury, well, its disgusting, when the proof is there but is totally ignored. LENNOX I WISH WITH ALL MY PRAYERS THAT COMMON SENSE WILL PREVAIL AND YOU WILL BE ALLOWED HOME TO YOUR FAMILY WERE YOU BELONG, THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE OUT HERE PRAYING FOR YOU SWEETHEART AND IF PRAYER IS A STRONG AS THOUGHT IT WILL BRING YOU HOME I AM SO SORRY THE PEOPLE THAT BE HAVE PUT YOU THROUGH THIS, I CRY AS I WRITE THIS, AND CAN ONLY HOPE IN MY HEART THOSE TEARS WILL SOON BE TEARS OF HAPPINESS GOD BLESS YOU LENNOX, WHY THE WORLD HAS BECOME SO FILLED WILL WRONG DOING AND SADNESS AND DONT KNOW?BELFAST WILL BE A DIFFERENT PLACE IF THEY DECIDE AGAINST LETTING YOU COME HOME, BE STRONG SWEETHEART MY PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU AND YOU FAMILY XXXX

To take him away from his family they must be so distraught.... please please save LENNOX from being put to sleep and give him back to his loving family. i too will be praying you for you Lennox and maybe the judges for once will do the right thing!! xxx

- I don't think I've ever been so touched by a case as this one. Breaks my heart. I've tried to be reasonable and read the Judges decision (which is available online), but all I see is a frightened dog who has been made a pawn in some sort of power struggle by Belfast City Council. I so feel for the family. I was convinced the right decision would be made :( Read Victoria Stillwell (Its Me Or The Dog) posts online. Heartbreaking.

- mistynsashasmum and ratchick. How I agreed with your commentgs.
As has been said all we can do now is pray, ;perha;ps to St. Jude, patron saint of hopeless cases and those in despait. I am sure this will apply to the ownerfs of Lennox, especially the young daughter who I believe is a bad asthmatic. PLEASE DONT LET LENNOX DIE I think as I watch the ticking clock on my screen before me. - 2011-10-13 19:11 Ratchick
- I've only just seen this on here...& I'm going to share it on FB, as I've followed Lennox's story on FB for a while. When it comes to BCC..words fail me...well apart from one..Muppets :o(

I will pray you Lennox darling you have already been through enough
Big sloppy kisses sent to you Lennox xxxx - 2011-10-13 18:45 muns
- Lisa 123 et al The last decision 2 weeks ago tomorrow was that Lennox would be PTS in 21 days unless the defence found a legal loophole but the defence had only 14 days to find the loophole. Thus, as I understand it, unless team Lennox satisfy this Judge tomorrow that there is any legal 'getout' then the sentence will be upheld by the appeal Judge. However, we have to wait and see what team Lennox have got to offer tomorrow...they are not going to advertise their ammunition are they? The most we can do right now is pray...afterwards well that depends on the outcome....That's how I see it anyway. Tomorrow will be very difficult ..... again....Last edited: 2011-10-13 18:47:48 by muns

- Well done dillondog and jobadger. Also if we kept our pets in the conditions which Lennox is being kept in, we would probably be put on a cruelty charge. And rightly so.

- Well done Jobadger! I've emailed every single Belfast based member of the Northern Ireland Assembly - a few have replied, notably Michael Copeland, who has already been in touch with the Council. I've also emailed the Department of Rural and Agricultural Affairs, whose remit this falls under. The Council offices number is closed for the rest of the day - but re-opens 8.30am friday morning, so still time for more calls. I've not had a reply from the Chief Executive of the Council yet - not surprised.
Everything crossed for Lennox and his family. x - 2011-10-13 16:47 jobadger
- Belfast Council is passing all calls regarding Lennox to the Dog Warden - Yolande Elwood. Her email box might be full, but her ansaphone message box is still accepting calls. I have left a polite, but firm message regarding Lennox, the manner in which he is being treated, the conditions in which he is being kept and the way his family have been subjected to the crass stupidity of Belfast Council, it's money wasting ways - to which you and I contribute as UK tax payers - and to the perjured evidence of one of it's employees.
Please, Please telephone the number above and ask to make a complaint regarding Lennox.Last edited: 2011-10-13 16:48:14 by jobadger - 2011-10-13 16:38 CJ - Police Liaison & SE Regional Coordinator

- Candle by day and hall light by night, My heart is so sad, but my hopes are still bright. You have captured the hearts of so many folk, all around the world we pray they'll revoke that awful sentence they have given to you, through lies and through cheating they've pushed it through. But know my dear Lennox whatever they do, we know the truth about you. Your love for your family has kept you strong and their love has been with you all along.
I pray the Lord will make them repent, the day they lied to make your life spent. I pray their conscience will make them be true, make them think about what they do. For if they are scared of the truth when they lie in the quiet, far worse what awaits them at the end of their lives. Judgement day comes to us all, whatever the faith we follow one way or another we answer our crimes.....best come clean before they're out of time.

- If you go to www.savelennox.co.uk you will find all the links for emailing the Chief Exec of Belfast CC, along with the dog wardens, environmental health, Belfast Government etc, and Downing Street, and all the latest updates to the campaign, along with a template for a letter. Interestingly, after I emailed the dogwardens last night, two emails bounced as the mailboxes were full. I suspect they have been inundated. I've also emailed Sky News, and Radio 2 - Jeremy Vine Show, and Chris Evans (a big dog lover).
Let's continue to make as much noise as possible, to save Lennox' life.Last edited: 2011-10-12 15:02:23 by dillondog - 2011-10-12 14:23 J MO

- Have emailed, tweeted and spoken to Zac Goldsmiths office......Zac is in the house and will see who he can find to talk to about this matter. I have stated that Belfast CC is ignoring the publics outcry. I have explained that Belfast has not followed the correct procedure and has an arrogant attitude towards members of the public. I have explained the urgency of this case and that I want to know how many millions are given to fund them. As taxpayers contribute heavily to supporting Belfastcc so therefore do taxpayers have a right to question Belfast cc authority. Also that the Barnes family have a right to family life.

- PLEASE PLEASE ALL READ AN AMAZING INSIGHT INTO THE LENNOX CASE! BY Victoria Stilwell
The truth behind that released snippet of video, supposingly showing Lennox acting aggressively. It's a bit long but worth reading, it's from Victoria Stilwell
Today people all over the world will be lighting candles in honor of Lennox, who, if the courts have their way, will be put to death in less than a week by Belfast City Council. I have become personally involved in this case, both as an expert and as an advocate for decency and humanity. Certain individuals and organizations have been engaged in a last desperate attempt to refute the evidence given by experts, who actually met and evaluated Lennox, and myself, who viewed all the footage of these assessments. I have been informed that a tiny part of David Ryan’s assessment where Lennox reacted to feeling threatened has now been taken out of context and released by itself as ’evidence’ that Lennox is a dangerous dog. I will explain Lennox’s behavior at that point in a moment, but what I want to stress is what is NOT shown, which is the rest of David Ryan’s hour long evaluation where Lennox allows a complete male stranger, David Ryan, to handle him, tease him, walk him, sit by him, lead him and touch him without any negative reaction whatsoever. In fact during this time Lennox was giving all kinds of pacification signals, choosing to turn away from David when he felt uncomfortable, rather than bite, maul or attack him. There has been so much misinformation and ignorance surrounding this case from the start, because unless you fully understand dog communication and signals it is easy to miss, as all of these people have, everything that Lennox is trying to communicate.
In my official report I stated: ‘Lennox showed a number of deference behaviours including turning his head away, licking his lips, turning his body and walking away, in response to David Ryan’s attempts to frustrate him. This is an impressive trait in any dog and shows a dog using submissive behaviour rather than offensive behaviour to cope in what is a relatively stressful situation.’
At one point Lennox lunged at David Ryan, the piece of video that has been released in a sad attempt, by those against Lennox and the campaign to free him, to show what a dangerous dog he is. This has in actual fact back-fired, because now it gives me no choice but to comment, as an expert with fifteen years experience of canine behavior and ten years of working with all breeds including pit bull types in the United States, on that particular reaction, that I included in my statement to the courts.
My report continued: ‘If a dog, that would rather practice avoidance and take himself away from threat, is unable to do so and the threat comes closer and does not allow the dog any chance to escape, the dog has no other choice but to respond defensively. Lennox reacted defensively when David Ryan approached him and Lennox was stuck between two chairs and the wall with nowhere to go to. He tried to get away but when this failed he lunged defensively at David Ryan. Even though this was a defensive gesture, Lennox still showed incredible impulse control and bite inhibition. A dog is faster than the fastest Olympic athlete when it comes to response time. If Lennox intended to harm David Ryan he could have easily bitten him while he lunged, before Mr. Ryan had time to react, but Lennox chose to warn him (a complete stranger) out of his space instead, rather than inflict harm, and this was impressive to see…… Lennox showed impressive restraint Last edited: 2011-10-11 14:59:57 by Shereen - 2011-10-11 14:48 Shereen

- Facebook, twitter, are alive with campaigns to Save Lennox. Thousands of letters to MPs and the PM and a petition to SAVE Lennox which at time of writing has 112 124 signatures from all around the world http://www.savelennoxpetition.co.uk/) all serve to show the groundswell of opinion all saying Save Lennox
MESSAGE TO ALL VETS
1. Please join forces with us to help Save Lennox in whichever way you can
2. If the judge upholds the verdict this Friday we are asking that NO VETS will agree to PTS Lennox, as, I believe, is your right?
Please could you join all vets countrywide and refuse to have anything to do with killing this innocent pet who has never bitten and whose only crime like so many before him is to look the way he does.
He has become the figurehead of all these people who have had enough of this barbaric law that has slaughtered so many innocent pets before him ....20 years is enough.
Please give Lennox, his family and his hundreds of thousands of supporters your pledge to help him and the pledges of your colleagues. The world is watching Belfast. Belfast will be boycotted if Lennox is killed. As a peaceful person and an animal lover I am devastated by this case and all of fear as to where it may end if we allow Lennox to be killed when he is totally innocent of any aggression whatsoever and the verdict has been upheld on the basis he may bite in the future? So may any dog in the UK.
We are aiming for 1 million lights going on for Lennox across the country this week......Please stand with us.
Thanking you in anticipation of your help for Lennox.

I have received another large number of e-mails asking me to help with this case I’ve read your web site updates and letters, I have already written to the council earlier this year but got no reply, but enough is enough as time is running out. So I’ll say it as I see it. As a Dog Trainer of over 2.500 over a 30 year period I have at times come across some pretty poor decisions when it comes to dogs, the decision of Belfast Council to PTS Lennox ranks in the top ten worse decisions of all time. Let me get this right its being PTS because it jumped up at the warden. Are you all totally mad, we might have to PTS about half the dogs in the UK if jumping up is all it takes.
What do I know about dangerous dogs or bullbreeds, I was a team leader in the Police Dangerous Dogs team for over ten years, we seized dogs that had been used in crimes by high profile gang members and drug dealers, I now have two licenced American Pit Bull terriers, several American bull dogs Presa Canarios and Cane Corsos on my books for Film work. Such as Harry Potter, Batman Dark Knight and my latest Blitz where you can see a real American Pit Bull Terrier working with over 50 crew around it.
I am patron of Support Dogs UK and the statement that because the girl walks with a limp she can’t handle a dog of that size frankly makes me sick, our clients have bigger dogs and they are in wheel chairs. I my self walk with a limp sustained while on duty as a dog Handler and I worked in the Middle East with the Military. I wear a brace but I can handle any dog.
Reverse this decision it makes no sense your “expert” makes no sense either, give the girl her dog back.

- I am sure that you are well aware of the case of Lennox, the 6 year old American Bull dog cross who was seized 18mths ago by Belfast City Council (BCC) and deemed to be 'of type' as he fitted 'the magic measurements' Lennox is the 'special friend' of a disabled child, Brooke, 13 years old and devastated at the loss of her pet. Lennox belongs to a responsible family who also foster dogs for rescues. He was vaccinated, licensed, insured, walked on a lead and housed securely in their home.
I am equally sure as people who care for animals you understand the lunacy of Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) and the Dangerous Dogs Act (DDA)
Despite the proof of what appears to be perjury committed by a BCC dog warden, and the expert defense witness from a renowned dog behaviouralist Sarah Fisher , the Appeal Judge, preferred to listen to a prosecution 'expert' whose background is a PC dog handler with outdated brutal methods to say the least. Despite whatever evidence the prosecution put forth Lennox has never bitten, or even been reported for antisocial behaviour. Even so the judge (who sadly did not understand dog behaviour and assessments at all) upheld the decision to have Lennox killed and the family have until this friday 14th October to find a legal loophole or lose their fight to Save Lennox (www.savelennox.co.uk for all details from the family)
