- Sorry Dudley is missing hes absolutely adorable and for what its worth I certainly know your heartache and pain.Hopefully the sighting are true in which case wispa is probrably your man.He is however a very attractive dog, friendly and lovable so could have been taken in perhaps with best will in the world initially and kept.I wonderd if you are getting regular radio announcements on your local radio stations they are free and articals in your local newspapers especially the free ones as most homes should recieve them.Might just reach that person with some crucial information.Good luck.stolen Tays mum.x

- Well done, Sally. Let's just hope for another sighting.
- 2011-11-15 14:41 Sally
- Walked part of 'Five Pits Trail' last Sunday, sadly no sign of Dudley, but will keep taking walks round the area at weekends & spreading the word. Having met with Andy & Lorna, the search will be on until he is found. Dudley is such a lovely lad we all want to see him back home where he belongs.
- 2011-11-12 17:04 Unknown
- Sally, do call the owners. The more people who know Dudley and are able to go out, the more chance there is of him making himself known.
- 2011-11-10 09:40 Sally
- Hi Andy & Lorna, Hadn't meant to cancel previous message. Sorry to hear about 'Dudders' going missing, saw your message up at the pub. If we can do anything to help, please give us a call. We would be only too pleased to help look for him with 'the boys'. Clive, Sally, Baxter & Brodie

- Please do call them, Beth. Dudley is shy of people but will go to play with dogs, and if he comes to yours and recognises you then perhaps he may come to you. He originally went missing from owners' relatives' home when the wind blew a door open, he was seen a few times around that area then surfaced on the 5 pits trail nr Tibshelf and that's where we came in and tracked him back to Alfreton station.
- 2011-11-02 19:27 Beth
- Thanks nik, I will do. Dudley is a lovely boy, he came & had his hair done not so long ago @ the salon I work @ he really is a sweetie. I'll give them a call
- 2011-11-02 18:52 Unknown
- Beth, why not call the owners and see if you can help. It's good to know there's someone really local. I'd love to help (especially as Dudley is the doppelganger of my Dido) but I'm just outside London !
- 2011-11-02 18:37 Beth
- Exactly what fields did he go missing from? As l say I'm from selston (annesley end) & I can walk my dogs around that area more & tell my family to keep an eye open around there
- 2011-11-02 10:20 Owl
- A fair question, Nik. Alfreton and S Normanton are Wispa's locations, and if he continued in that direction he would come to Selston and Annesley, the place he first took off from while staying with owners' relatives. He was seen around there soon after first going missing. I don't think I'd hazard a guess at plotting a course for this enterprising little chap, but he seems to like the public footpaths of which there are many. We hope he will make his way back to point of departure, or to his own home which isn't all that far away.
- 2011-11-02 09:36 B30
- Advertised in The Countryman's Weekly magazine today. I hope it brings some news.

- 2011-10-30 08:25 andylorna
- thanks to everyone that are still looking for dudley we are out looking for him at every possible moment we miss him so much still havent told the grand chilldren yet as they will so upset a big thanks to owl and wispa for comming out last week with us will try looking for him at dusk as he may be laying low in the day thanks. ANDY /LORNA
- 2011-10-29 23:26 Unknown
- Are these Wispa's or 'wise' Owl's locations ?!! Beth, pbgvs are such pack animals that they really do like to be with humans. However, it's quite likely that he will lie low during the day and come out at dusk. If Owl has plotted sightings/trail there may be some pattern to his movements. Lost pbs have often made their way home, but it depends on how far out of their comfort zone they are.
- 2011-10-29 18:26 Owl
- Alfreton, S Normanton, Selston thru to Annesley. Any of the villages round there. It's hard to say, he moves fast. But he seems to go for the footpaths rather than dive into woodland.Last edited: 2011-10-29 18:27:12 by Owl

- I love this boy, he has his hair done where I work & he's gorgeous! Where would be the best place to start looking for him now??
- 2011-10-24 20:03 Unknown
- Sounds like a really good day's work.
- 2011-10-24 19:03 Owl
- We had a bit of a trek over at least 5 miles, first on the Five Pits Trail but then through villages and eventually through deserted footpaths we never knew existed. We started near the sighting at Tibshelf, found an old scent trail which was a bit patchy but eventually led us around Newton to Blackwell, where there was a scent so fresh that Wispa switched off from everything else, good job too as we were going down a busy high street. Dudley must have gone down there at night or someone would have seen him. Then through a housing estate on to a footpath which led to a working quarry. The trail went through a wire fence into the quarry area but Wispa worked out a detour suitable for humans and we picked up the scent the other side, trekked for a very long way along a path parallel to a railway then came out at Alfreton Station. Dudley was seen around that quarry soon after he first went missing, so it looks as if he left the Five Pits trail and headed for where he started out from. That explains why no further sightings, as we didn't see anyone at all during the last part of the trail. There is water, there are places to shelter, there are so many places for him to hunt and to hide. It was worth our effort as we know he isn't still hanging around the area he was seen in on Thursday. At Alfreton station we called it a day as Wispa was up to her 2 hr limit of concentration and we were just about off our feet, so we got a taxi back to start.

- Very reassuring to know that Owl's on the case ! Timid PBs are always very difficult, so I would recommend a good supply of pilchards.
- 2011-10-23 18:40 Owl
- Thank you SuzeeBee. Nik, we have no idea as yet where to site a trap but I can have one there pdq if needed. We may well not need one at all, as the Thursday sighting was reported by a young lad who was walking his terrier, and Dudley ran up to them and played. He loves children and also other dogs. But when the lad tried to catch hold of him he was away. I am sure he will come to his people if he sees them. I will be meeting owner there tomorrow morning with Wispa. We will start at area of sighting and see what kind of trail we can get from there. Weather has been mostly dry so it should still be reasonable. I know that part of the Five Pits Trail. It is about 12 miles from where I live now.

- I have emailed his poster to the Derbyshire countryside service as they were the contacts on the Five Pits Trail website. I hope this helps. Stay safe Dudley until you are found. Sorry I am too far away (Suffolk) to help search. Good luck x
