I'm pleased to say WE FOUND HIM!!! Bought for £150... police investigating further...
Spindle
Nikki19, it was you that saw him on the 13th wasnt it. If you go up Swan road and turn right just past the bakers you pass the church on your left. At the junction turn left and there used to be a vet just along there on the left. May be worth them having poster.
Nikki19
Hi Spindle, yes i agree it certainly couldn't do any harm. Just wish we could get another sighting to give us a clue where he has moved on to now :-(
Spindle
Nikki19 , I got that feeling too about heading for uxbridge, thats why suggested postering in Cowley area. Lots of fisherman around little britain. Know the area very well. Lovely you tube, hope it bring the calls needed.
BonBon
Fantastic video. Well done Paula in getting this out. Can only help make people aware of Huckleberry. Carole

Nikki19
I have a feeling he has headed towards the Uxbridge area, i dont why just a hunch with him being spotted in Swan Road too. Has any postering been done in the Uxbridge area? Would be a good idea around the shopping centre's there as well as everyone from the local area's goes there, also the big 24 hr Tesco in West Drayton would be a good idea. I cant do much during the week because of work but can take some posters out & put up at the weekend. I so hope this little guy is found soon.
DogLostSherlock Bones Police Liaison Co-ordinator
Hi Nikki, no more news today, had a hoax call last night though, but otherwise very quiet... Lost of postering going on and the Slough Observer visiting Paula tomorrow to do an interview, also ad going out in that paper. If it was Huckleberry in W Drayton, where's he disappeared to now?
Spindle
Sorry no more sightings as yet. Probably already done as I know lots of posters up, but if not, can I suggest posters in Packet Boat Lane, Little Britain and on the bridge called The Shovel in Iver lane.Last edited: 2011-10-18 19:59:49 by Spindle

Paula just rushed over to a sighting in St Paul's Park, it's not Huckleberry though, a young lab/gsd sort of cross. Now being handed to out of hours dog warden. Like you say the posters are working, just need the right dog now. Hope this boy finds his way home too.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Oh its good that posters are working....keep those sightings coming in.

Sighting just called in - Thursday morning in Swan Road, West Drayton - that's at the end of Thorney Mill Road - so it looks like Huckleberry is trying to get home
DogLostSherlock Bones Police Liaison Co-ordinator
Thanks Laura, I'm passing that onto Paula right now
Laura
At approx 10am yesterday I saw a dog tied up on a rope outside Sainsburys in Maidenhead Town Centre. Looked incredibly similar to Huckleberry who is a pretty distinctive young boy! I mentioned it to Maria from WoofWoofMeow who walks and looks after my hairy girls and she asked me to post on here. Could be a different dog I'm afraid as I didnt have my phone on me to check. Will be on Sainsburys CCTV as he was tied up almost against the store window on the right as you look at the entrance. With best wishes xxx

Possible sighting last night on Quinbrookes, Wexham, which is close to the Uxbridge Road. He could be heading home. Please keep an eye out - if it was him he was hiding under a bush, barking.

Local papers are already being contacted, had a long chat with owner this morning and she's busy preparing yet more posters - 200 went up yesterday. Nikki you're brilliant, Paula's really grateful x
Spindle
The Slough observer are great at helping with stories, maybe call them and get in next thursdays paper.
Nikki19
Went back this morning at 8.30 & had a walk around. Unfortunately i could only stay till 9am as i have to drive up to Coventry today & am leaving at 10am. No signs of Huckleberry, all the biscuits have gone but guess that could be foxes. On a positive note met a lovely lady from the caravan park opposite who has just got back off holiday, she walks her little mini schnauzer over the woodland there twice a day, early morning & afternoons so she is going to take a spare lead with her just in case she see's him & will also alert all the other dog walkers on the caravan park who she says walk there every day. Will log in this evening when i get home, fingers crossed for some positive news.

Thank you! We know that Huckleberry can and will get in strange cars - could someone have picked him up and taken him over that way - and if so... why haven't they taken him to a vet or rescue to be scanned... Huckleberry now also has a facebook page. Paula is still out putting up posters at the moment, thanks Nikki I think if he has been seen twice in two days (if this is him) then the chances are he'll come back the same sort of time tomorrow.

This isn't too far from me but I can't get out to help search at moment as my rottie (Ozzie) is ill. Wishing you good luck with your search xx
Nikki19
Just back from Waterford House, walked all round with my puppy in the hopes 0f enticing him out if he was about but no luck. Walked a different pathway at the back of the car park way into the woods calling him but no luck, just lots of bunnies running around. Scattered some biscuits at the entrances of all the different pathways just in case he is about. Will go back again tomorrow morning, would love to know where he is hiding up during the day. Stay safe Huckleberry.Last edited: 2011-10-14 17:20:28 by Nikki19

Must've been similar time it was someone who was on a bus on the way to work/town.
Nikki19
I will go back after work today. Anyone know what time he was sighted? Maybe we should leave some food there tonight for him & I think it would be a great idea if owner cud be back there for say 8am tomorrow morning as he seems to be going back there early mornings?
DogLostSherlock Bones Police Liaison Co-ordinator
The sighting was in the exact same place, Nikki x
Nikki19
Can anyone find out an exact location where he was sighted was it Waterford house again? I will go back after work to look again

Yes hopefully we can all meet up at some point. I am at work till 4pm tomorrow but will go & have a look after that if no more sightings have come in from anywhere else. Unfortunately i am away for the day Saturday but will be around all day Sunday. Hi Lucky13, great to have some more help, i know the owner will be over the moon too.
DogLostSherlock Bones Police Liaison Co-ordinator
Fantastic, Nikki. Glad owner got hold of you, thank you so much for talking to her. She really is going all out to find him, has moments of fear but is doing really well so far, and all the help she's getting is spurring her on. Lucky13 (Em?) thank you... hopefully you'll all come across each other in the search!
Nikki19
Went back down to waterford House on my way to the dog training class. Had a walk around & called Huckleberrys name but no luck, no sign of him atall. The posters are still there & a lot more cars so people must be home from work so i hope they have seen the posters. Went on to class & put a poster in the church hall & spoke to all the people there & alerted them about Huckleberry so they are all going to keep a look out. The owner rang me & we had a chat. Lovely lady doing absolutely everything she can to get her beloved dog back, i so hope he is home safe with her soon. Will keep looking & hopefully if we get another sighting can go & put some more posters up. I've told the owner if she needs anything at all & i can help in any way to just call me. Stay safe little Huckleberry & come home soon.

Nikki I've just given your number to owner: she's really keen to talk to you so hope that's ok. She's been at the area tonight but had to give up after searching by torchlight. She's really really grateful for your help x

Just spoken with owner and she is still out searching. She is so grateful for all the support she is getting.

Hi Jayne, no when my 2 dogs were stolen about 12 years ago, unfortunately i did not know about Doglost back then, i only wish i had. But they were stolen from the same kind of area & i know the sheer desperation i felt. Luckily i had some wonderful friends who helped me & we managed to get them back. I have seen what a wonderful job you all do so am happy to help, for any dog owner it really is your worst nightmare.Last edited: 2011-10-13 18:38:54 by Nikki19

Thank you Nikki....I believe from local co ordinator that you are on board cause we helped with your missing hound...tx for remembering us and how you felt at the time and helping another owner.
Nikki19
Been back to Waterford House, put posters in the residents courtyard on their bin cupboard doors & on the private gates, also at the start of the woodland where a lot of people go fishing. Also put posters up in a Langley park not far up the same road, also along the road & further on at some main traffic lights where people have to stop at a width restrictor. Am going out to a local dog training class tonight which is funnily enough in the same road but further on, in a church hall so will put a poster up there too as most of the people attending are local people from all the surrounding area's. Have also posted on facebook on another local dog training clubs page Barnhill Dog Club. If there are any more sightings anywhere i will try & get there with more posters. Nikki you're a star. Owner has gone back home for posters, in the meantime I've sent scenting instructions to her - worried that if this is him he'll have to cross the M25 to get home, which we need to avoid so trying to keep him where you've seen him. Have alerted Uxbridge Dog Warden in case he heads that way.
Nikki19
Hi Jayne, no problem. I have already posted it on my facebook page, sorry not on twitter :-)
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Thanks Nikki for your help..if you are on twitter or face book can you press the share button above and spread word locally...tx
Nikki19
Might be worth putting some posters up in the car park at Waterford House just in case one of the residents may have taken him in or seen him or they can keep an eye out for him if he is still around the woodland there. If anyone can email a poster i will print out & put some up on my way home tonight. Its ok, just figured out how to print off! I will put some up tonight.Last edited: 2011-10-13 14:44:32 by Nikki19

Thanks for all you have done so far Nikki19. Unfortunately I am not able to get over there this pm or tomorrow and then completely unavailable over the weekend. Hoever, I really do hope Huckleberry is found safe and well before then.
DogLostRiverlady
Have put Huckleberry on twitter + will circulate.
Nikki19
Just been back down, its called Waterford House. There is a caravan park directly opposite called Riverside Caravan site, if you stand outside & look directly opposite you will see black metal gates that say Private Property & a sign on the left saying Waterford House, if you pull in by the gates you can leave your vehicle at the side & walk on foot passed the gates. You are then in a car park but to your left there are tree's & little pathways into woodland & streams & the canal. I walked the main pathway calling Huckleberry & there are a few little bridges to go over. I could not see any sign of him & dont know where these pathways eventually lead to they may back onto the golf course which is relatively close? I came back out & drove all along the main road where i had originally seen him but no luck. I will look again tonight at 5.30 on my way home & will then go out again about 7.30 on my way to a class & look again.

Hi, i have tried to call both numbers but cant get through. I saw this little dog at 9am this morning on my way to work down Thoney Mill Lane in West Drayton. Does he have a red collar on? I stopped my car because he was at the edge of the road & tried to get hold of him but he took off he ran into a private close its called something like waterside. I followed him in but the car park leads on to woodland & he had vanished i think he must of gone through the tree's. I am home for lunch now but will drive taht way back to work at 2pm to see if i can see him & i will get the correct name of the private close. There is also a travellers site just across the road down cricketfield road so he may of escaped from there. I will ring the mobile number above again & leave my number in case anyone wants to contact me

Have managed to speak with owner. Huckleberry appears to have been stolen from her garden. She has contacted councils, animal wardens and police but has not been given a CRN. Have told her to speak with them again and obtain crime no. Photo of Huckleberry is too big to be sent in current format so she will email one to admin tomorrow so that alerts can be sent out.
