might be worth taking some posters into builders merchants , if you give them a few might give to there drivers who are delivering in the area all the time or perhaps the bin men in local area or postman. best of luck, he is a lovely dog !! x
BBKM
As Owl says, mark his sightings on a map, date and times, they will probably start to form a rough triangle, keep checking these routes. Poor Monty, he will probably slow down soon, try and get as many posters up as possible in these areas too. Good luck I will keep checking for news xx
dhende
Today around 11.30 he was seen in quarry rd, somercotes heading towards The Riddings
DogLostOwl
Thanks for posting update. I would suggest you mark all sightings on a map. Dogs on the run do tend to do a circuit rather than a straight line, and hopefully Monty will before long do this. It's usually a rough triangle.

Monty was seen along side the A38 by the Little Chef/Travelodge near Swanwick. He ran past the main entrance of Thorntons approx 15 mins later. We have just arrived home. I would like to thank Sharon & Vicky and their husbands who called us with the sighting and helping us look for our little boy. He is certainly getting around this afternoon he was on Alfreton Golf Course around 1pm. If anyone sees him, he was an unsocialised rescue dog, hence very scared of people. Our only worry is he going further and further away from us.
DogLostOwl
Yes indeed, I spoke with Monty's people at midday and he had been seen several times during the morning running alongside the main road from Alfreton to Chesterfield, still limping but doing a fair speed. Police aware and being helpful. I don't know what happened after that. I have given scenting advice, but it won't be much use until Monty slows down. Dogs don't run for ever, they do stop after a while and settle into one area with shelter, water and some kind of food source, but this lad is covering a lot of ground.
