I haven't posted on here yet as I have been waiting for Joanne to post but I think she might still be sleeping after 5 full days of searching, I know Storm is lol. I am ecstatic that Joanne got her baby home. She got posters up as soon as Storm went missing and it really paid off, from day one the sightings were coming in enabling her to track his movements. When he was first seen this morning Storm ran away but Joanne had Storm's mum, Princess with her and after a scary bolt across the A6 Joanne found him and just whispered 'it's Princess' and he came straight to her - bless. It's been a frantic 5 days for Joanne, Storm and scouseparry who has been tremendous. All take a well earned rest guys and I think I'd be having a few sharp words with that window cleaner. WELCOME HOME STORM, stay safe sweetheart :) xx

Hi scouseparry, great to see you on here. Are you Joannes friend who has been helping her with the emails? I could really do with a list of places and times/dates of the reported sightings of Storm. I can then plot them on a map to see if we have a pattern. Dogs are creatures of habit and tend to stay within a triangle. It might give us an idea of where he is heading or if he is staying in one area. Realise you will be out searching tonight but if there is any chance someone could send me a quick email I will have a look at it. I'm our for now, back about 9.30. My email address is jackalee.doglost@hotmail.com or a text, Joanne has my number. Many thanks and good luck for tonight :) xLast edited: 2011-10-20 21:31:35 by Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester

Just to add that Storm ran away from his owner in the direction of Horwich/Blackrod. We're hoping that he will return to the farm in Lostock so we can try to collect him again, but it's possible that he will be heading towards Rivington as this is where he is often walked. Thanks for your help in the search so far.

Many thanks for your help on this one Jayne. I really feel that another reassuring voice will have helped. She is so frantic with worry and really didn't understand why he wouldn't come to her. She is worried that she has scared him off for good, which obviously isn't the case. So hoping that Storm will be home soon. Will ring Joanne again tomorrow morning for an update :)

Have spoken to owner and advised on what to do next.

Had a frantic call from Storms owner this morning. She has been out since 7am and found Storm sat near a fence post but as she shouted and approached him he ran off. Unfortunately the owner's pc has broken so she couldn't access my scenting info. I've explained what needs to be done but I can tell in her voice that she is panicking and couldn't understand why he didn't come to her. Have said I will ring her later. Hopefully she will have had time to have a cup of tea and read the email on her friends PC.

Thanks meadowbankles, yes it is a distance and they have had reported sightings of him all the way. Joanne has seen him herself now and it is Storm :)

Will keep an eye out for Storm but I do wonder how he's got from Atherton to as far up the A6 as La Scala - that's quite a trek on foot and I wonder if somebody's picked him up or that it was definitely him?

Thank you Jayne :)

Have just heard from Storms owner. A lady has seen him tonight in the Horwich/Westhoughton, Bolton area, she tried enticing him with food but he ran off and he is limping. The lady also rang the dog warden but they couldn't attend tonight. By the time the owner got there he had gone. This was near a duck pond opposite La Scala restaurant BL5 if anyone knows the area.

There have been so many sightings of him in that area but he is scared and quite skittish. Have sent the owner all the advice on scenting and plotting.

They have been out searching constantly since Monday, hoping they find Storm very soon.Last edited: 2011-10-20 00:39:50 by Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester

Have spoken to Storms owner and a photo has been emailed to admin. The window cleaner left the gate open and that night there were lots of fireworks. Storm is usually with his owner 24/7 and can be a little nervous. The family have been out day and night and have postered far and wide. They have had at least half a dozen phonecalls of sightings in the Westhoughton area which is about 10 mins away in a car. So far no one has been able to catch him. Have given advice on how to behave if they see him. They have visited Leigh Cats and Dogs, registered him with the DW and notified the chip company. They are also going to visit Manchester.

They have done a fantastic job so far and I am sure it is only a matter of time before someone catches him. Have sent the advice email.Last edited: 2011-10-19 19:53:46 by Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
