Hello All,

Our lovely Dingo has made it home!!! :) She came out from the vets yesterday after 3 operations! The first to stitch her up, The second to remove her kidney and the third to put a drain in to stop excess fluid build up. She is walking around on all legs even though her pelvis is broken in 2 places. Looking at getting the drain removed tomorrow and the gradually the stitches will come out over the next 2 weeks. She is happy in herself and pleased to be home. She is really enjoying lots of nice light cuddles and kisses. She went out for a short walk this morning and saw a few of her friends on th street who she was very happy to see. She is not allowed up any stairs and the vets want her back in 5 weeks for a check-up.

I have not heard anything about the woman who "claimed" to hit Dingo yet. We had to versions of events, the first that Dingo was hit and went under one car, the driver stopped and helped and is being kept informed of Dingo's progress.

Another driver has also claimed to have hit Dingo and pretty much written off her car, however none of the witnesses saw this women, it is also quite coinsidental that there is a dead deer in the same place that Dingo was hit! I am not sure how this will pan out as this is the woman who claimed after hitting Dingo she did not stop, she only returned after the accident and unfortunatly she bumped into the police officer who helpped in the accident when collecting his car. I do not know if she would have reported the accident or even if she acctually hit Dingo, the evidence suggests she did not and prehaps she hit the deer... who knows.

Will keep you updated though, the main thing is that Dingo is saf and doing well, a little skint now though as vet bills totalled £7,000 and insurance only covered for £3,000! Ouch!

Thank you for your support and help and for following Dingos progress, xxxxx

lesleyjane
Poor Dingo, hope you recover from all of this, and that the driver who broke the law gets what they deserve.xx

UPDATE ON DINGO'S PROGRESS

Dingo had to have her kidney removed yesterday and it has been discovered that her pelvis has broken away from the spine. She is eating and able to hop around on 3 legs so fingers crossed she will make a full recovery.

BLESS HER.
Judith
Bazil...I couldn't have put it better!
Get well soon little girl.
BBKM
Sending lots of gentle hugs and healing thoughts for sweet Dingo. Hoping she makes a full recovery from her terrible ordeal...and hope the selfish person who broke the law not reporting she had hit a dog and also left her at the roadside... rots in hell
Unknown
Hi. Deb4gsd. I agree with you. Its called selfishness. So pleased Dingo is recovering well. Sending her healing thoughts and a great big hugxxx
Deb4gsd
I am so pleased your beautiful girl is recovering well and closer to home!!.......as for the woman wanting to claim, I am absolutely gobsmacked at her heartless behaviour, to first of all leave Dingo at the roadside and not stop to help her.......and then try to claim for damages, beggars belief!!! my car would be the last of my concerns if I had hit a dog and I wouldn't be trying to claim money I would be offering money towards vet fees to help the poor dog.......just hope KARMA deals this woman what she deserves!! stay strong Dingo, so glad you have been found and back with your family xx
AlisonH
So very pleased that Dingo is on the road to recovery. I'm sure her progress will be speeded up by the fact that you will be able to visit her more often. As for the person who is trying to make a claim I would make a counter claim as she broke the law by not reporting the accident.
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Thank you for updating us on the lovely Dingo, it's good she has been brought closer to your home and lovely to hear that she is responding well to you xxx
Keep it up Dingo xxx
dingyfing
hello All,

Dingo has been transfered to Solihull which is closer for us, her wounds are healing very well and it does not look like she has suffered any more than a concusion. She is repsonding to normal comands and knows who her family are!!

she has broken her pelvis in 2 places but the vets are not looking to operate but just to monitor and hope that this will heal itself.

I am dealing with the woman who is looking to claim, and will let you know what is happening in due cause as there is a few complications and I do not want to get in to trouble by saying the wrong thing.

Will keep you all updated xxx
Catwoman
Just spent ages looking for Dingo in the lost section. What great news to hear that she has been found. So sad that she was knocked down though. Hope she has a speedy recovery and can get home soon.
DogLostAngus
It does look like the driver who hit Dingo has been involved in a hit and run and leaving the scene of the accident - I wonder if they reported the accident to the police within the required 24 hours ?
Sioux
This was posted on DLWM FB group,
The car driver has broken the law by not reporting the accident, this is copied from DirectGov website:
"By law, if you run over a dog (even if it's not killed), you should stop and report the accident to the police. You must do this within 24 hours".
If she is still trying to make a claim from you I would be pointing this out to her and see if she still wants to pursue it.
Hope Dingy is making a speedy recovery, love Sioux. :-) xxx

Thank you so much for the update I know that there are alot of people thinking of you Dingo and sending positive thoughts to you xxx
As for the person who hit you and didn't stop I cannot put on here what I would like to say!!!!
Keep improving sweetheart x
CYNTHO
We ALL rooting for you baby Dingy and sending you sooooo much love and hugs and snoggers; As to the woman that hit Dingo and couldn't be ar..d to stop; my upbringing prevents me from saying what I think of her suffice to say the name Cruella de Ville comes to mind and the saying what goes around comes around!!!!!We wont let someone so devoid of compassion detract from the wonderful caring people on this site; xxxxxx

Thanks for the latest update which shows that things are still going in the right direction. BUT as for the woman driver!!! How heartless. I don't know what else to say at the mo except everything crossed for Dingo. I hope she enjoys her chicken lunch/dinner... xLast edited: 2011-10-30 17:19:47 by Millys Mum

Good Morning everyone!!!

Thank you so much for your kind messages and your support. I had a call from the vets this morning who have said that Dingo is still making progress. She has not eaten yet, however she has not passed any more balck stools which can only be a good thing.

They are giving her some glucose today to help keep her strength up and help her recovery. Her wounds are healing nicely and she is getting a bit more mobile. They are hoping to get her standing this afternoon or tomorrow. They are going to give her some chicken later which I know that she will love.

The bad news is the woman who hit her did not stop to help her. She has damaged her car and may be looking to claim on our insurance!! this means that we will have a hefty excess, on top of the excess for Dingo's treatment and anything over £3,000.00 of treatment needs to be funded by us. I do not care about the money, however I feel so angry that the woman did not stop and help or even to see if Dingo was ok, but now wants to claim!! I cannot beleive some people!!!

Any how on the plus side I feel I have made so many new friends and so many people have shown us compassion and kindness, and for that we cannot thank you enough!

Our Ding is on the road to recovery and eveyone involved is possitve about her progres.

I will keep you all updated when I can.

Adam is going up to see her again tomorrow and Aunty Cynthia will be visitng along with the wonderful PC Barnsley who will be calling in when they can!!

we are all praying for you Dingy, Thanky you for the bottom of our hearts for eveyones support. xxxxxxxxx

Really pleased that Dingo is responding well to her mum and dad and of course her "auntie". Praying she will get stronger by the day and will be home very soon x
Millys Mum
Thank goodness. Keep up the good work sweet Dingo. So pleased to hear she responded well when she saw her Mum & Dad and also very happy to hear that Dingo has such a caring and kind Auntie CYNTHO to watch over her. I hope tomorrow brings more good news from the vets.
CYNTHO
I had the great privilege today of visiting Dingo at the vets;Just broke down seeing this baby that I have been searching for for the last few days; However, she has got through the crucial 24hrs and seems to be responding well to Charlie and Adam her Mummy and Daddy; This is an encouraging sign and we are all praying for a complete recovery; This has been my first time on here and I think you are ALL amazing caring people xx
BonBon
Like everyone else, I am keeping everything crossed that Dingo recovers well, helped by her mum and dad being with her. Stay strong, Dingo, there are so many of us willing you better. Also, so kind of Cyntho to have helped as she has and to keep a watchful eye on this lovely boy during the coming week.
DogLostAngus
Thanks so much for the update CYNTHO - I too have been very worried about dear Dingo, it is very clear from owners posts just how important this little girl is to their family, sending you positive thoughts and get well 'fairy dust'

Thanks for letting us know how poor Dingo is doing. I'm sure having her mum and dad close by will help her pull through. Like everyone else I'm hoping and praying that her head injury is not too serious and that she will make a full and speedy recovery.

Dingos mummy and daddy have been to see her at the vets; She was in surgery for nearly 4 hours; The wouds have been sutured and we are all praying that her head injury will not prove to be serious; She will be at the vets for at least a week; Charlie and Adam will be staying with her till Sunday and I will be visiting her through the week; Dingo has been an amazing girl and not even whimpered; She has some seriously big wounds; Get stronger each day sweet baby there are sooo many wonderful people out there praying for you xxx

I sent a text about an hour ago but have had no reply yet. To be honest they will not have got here until late afternoon so will probably not have left the vets yet. DINGO HAS BEEN FOUND THIS MORNING; UNFORTUNATELY SHE WAS INVOLVED IN AN R.T.A AND HAS BEEN TAKEN BY THE POLICE TO A LOCAL VETS !!! THE VETS HAVE SAID DINGO HAS SOME QUITE DEEP GASHES AND HAS ALSO SUFFERED A HEAD INJURY THE EXTENT OF WHICH IS UNSURE AT THE MOMENT; NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS IS A BITTERSWEET BLOW FOR HER FAMILY WHO WILL BE COMING TO SEE DINGO TODAY; WE ARE ALL PRAYING FOR YOU SWEETPEA THAT YOU WILL MAKE A FULL RECOVERY; XXXX
AlisonH
You are quite right Dingyfing. Dogs on the run revert to ferral behaviour and hide during the day. They tend to come out at dawn and dusk, just as a fox would do. Let's hope hunger and the need to get home will make her show herself.

Hello Guys,

we have had a productive day today, my microchip company have sent emails on our behalf for a 30 mile radius. I have contactd local farms and have found the details of the farms near to where she went missing. They are printing off posters and spreding the word. Also they will keep an eye out and check barns etc. I have contacted a campsite in woodhall spa too. One of the farmers was already aware of Dingo as Cyntho had left them with a poster :)

We hope that Dingo has found a base near by and is hiding out in the day and going out when it is quiet. Dingo needs to feel safe and we feel this may be something that she is doing which will epxlain why there may have been no siteings. Just a thought.....

Thank you all for your hlp, interst and support.

God Bless you all xxx
AlisonH
Thank you Cyntho you are a star.
CYNTHO
I have been to Woodhall Spa today and left posters at Hairdressers both newsagents, Premier pets, Dry cleaners and outside the Police station; Several people were aware of Dingo from the Lincs FM coverage which is good; I have also been around Coningsby Dogdyke etc; but no sightings AS YET; Have received more posters from Dingyfing thanks hun; We WILL get her back I have got a piggy chew in the car for her !!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Everyone is so supportive and helpful. We couldnt
Ask for more. Tattershall is a 7hour round trip for us
Which is fine but I'm not sure we can get the weekend
Of work. It's terrible being this far away. My other dog
Zac aka growler because he likes to growl won't go
Out. He doesn't want to eat drink, go to the toilet he just
Wants to lye on our dingos blanket huffing and pulling
Faces. He also no howls and has bad dreams....
AlisonH
Are you planning to go back to Tattershall this weekend to search for Dingo. If she is close to your other dog maybe that would bring her out of hiding. Is there a woodland close to Tattershall campsite? I would be willing to join you in a search as long as it's not too early as I have to walk my dogs first and then drive over (think it will take me about 45 mins).
Catwoman
Poppy the whippet. We had no sightings for almost 2 weeks, and then just one which allowed us to know that she was still in the area. We could not have found her without the wonderful help from all the people on this site who kept their eyes peeled, and gave advice. We were also very fortunate to be loaned a dog trap and people gave up their time to 'man it' . Once you have a good sighting, then things are sure to progress. Don't give up hope either. I think timid dogs will start to go near people once they get hungry and cold enough. I am sure that your breed of dog could find food too. If I think of any other ideas, then I will let you know.
dingyfing
Good call. We have called and let someone know
There but I will email them a poster I'm sure they
Will put it up. The last thing they need is our dingo
Running round there airfield..

Just a thought is there anyway somebody could search RAF Coningsby base? If it's anything like the RAF bases around where I live they cover a large area.

Just to let you know that I have received your email and we will be looking out for poor, poor Dingy. We take all the dogs from the King's Lynn & West Norfolk dog pound so we would get her if she turns up in this area.

I haven't had chance to read all the comments below so don't know what's been said already, but please do not leave it to her chip being scanned by the pound, ring as many as you can everyday as sometimes chips are missed.

I truly hope and pray that she is found very soon.

I have been out looking for 3 hours today and not one sighting of "our" girl; However on a positive note there are a LOT more people know about Dingo; I have left a poster at the Packet Inn public house, Ian Laird vets; Jantique Kennels are now aware and The Alternative Animal Sanctuary; I was told a dog had been found at Haltham but can't seem to find out where it was taken to; At least Dingy is microchipped so if she's taken to rescue they will know where she's from; Look at her "mummys" comments about the 12 mile walk I think maybe I will widen the search !!!!! Btw I left a few posters at the dog club to be given to all that were there
dingyfing
I hope someone finds her safe and well soon.
Thanks for all your help everyone. The security
Staff at the park called yesterday and said they
Are still looking out for her. My fears are how far
She may have travelled. We walk her 12 miles
On a weekend and she doesn't even tire a little...

The owner of the dog club has been notified and I believe CYNTHO took a poster to the club last night.

Sorry - didnt know the name of the dog club other than they meet tuesdays but did anyone have any luck with them? Any sightings? I used to go there years ago before I moved and there was always quite a crowd in those days.

I thought I would post some info about Dingy for all my helpers out there!!

Dingo likes to chew especially when nervous, one day I came home and she had chewed through the washing machine cabel and flooded my kitchen!!!! My Boxer Winton RIP was sat in his bed with a look on his fac saying it wasnt me Mum!!!

Dingo will bark on command if you tell her to speak she also does a low grumble like a growl if you ask her too. She will give you her paw when you say pound. She will kiss when you ask her too! She looks aftr my Rottwieler Zac and always lick his slobber after he has had a drink!!

In the morning she will run down the stairs and jump on Zacs head to wake him up!!! They will play fight all day if I let them. Dingo likes nothing more than to snuggle up to you under a blanket.

But the strangest thing about her is she loves to go to the toilet!! We say in a hi pitch voice "Dingy, do you want t go to the toilet? Wee poos??" At this she will go mad and dart to the back door chasing her tail!!!

Dingy you are the best everyone is praying for you my love, stay safe xxx

I have been to the printer shop in Woodhall and had some posters done so will take some to the Dog Club at Tattershall tonight; Also I will drop some posters into the Leisure Park; I spoke to several of the maintenance people at the Park and most of them were aware of Dingo being missing; Dingyfing that canal you fell into is a dyke full of water which seperates the Park from RAF Coningsby base; I do not think Dingo will have crossed that and besides the base is quite noisy aswell; I also drove over Tattershall bridge but I cant see her being able to cross the river Witham; There are swathes of fields where she could be running and hiding the problem is getting into them but you can hear the dogs at the local rescue kennels barking above the noise of the camp so maybe that will entice her over; Stay positive xx

Might help if owners could get over to the Tattershall Village Hall tonight after 7ish as the dog club is held there with many of the local 'doggy' people. Sure there would be some willing people to help there??!!

I have put a message on Dog Lost Lincs facebook group asking if there is anybody close to the area that can search and poster for Dingo.

Hello All,

Today is an important day, Dingo has been gone for nearly 24 hours, I think that she will be more inclind to appraoach people as she will be scared and lonely.

Whenever she is off her lead with me she always heads straight to the trees and always comes back when called, if anyone is out and about today please keep an eye out for her and let us know if anyone spots her.

Does anyone know of any walking groups arround the area that we could get in touch with?

Thank you for your support.

Thanks, i hope she is to.

Cyntho. They have left the park and gone back to Coventry. If you could put up some posters and spread the word it would be a great help.Last edited: 2011-10-24 18:49:58 by AlisonH

Hello All,

Firstly thank you so much for taking the time to look at this post.

Dingo is a cross bread we are not 100% sure what bread as she is a rescue dog. She is brindle and has a white chest. She is medium build and was wearing a pink collar wuth XOXOXOX round it. She is 5 years old and very nervous.

We lost her in Tatershall Lakes park this morning between 9-10, but unfortunately we have had to leave the park to go home in Coventry.

Dingo will be very distressed, she dislikes loud noises and does not tend to eat unless she feels saf however she will be very hungry by now so that may not be te case.

She is weary of strangers and does not like bikes or suden movements. If seen you will need to be vry careful not to scare her, but she may approach you if you have a dog.

Please please we really need your help. Our rottie Zac is so sad and does not know where she has gone, she is such a kind natured dog and such a good pet.

Please contact us if you see her so that we can spread the word.

She rsponds to dingy or dingo.

Thank you x
