- Update from the dog warden...
Hi
We had so many asking after comet thought would give a little update:
He's been allowed out of hospital and is now happy on the sofa ;)
Still some way to go and the vets have said things could wrong at any
time so all precautions are being taken. His kennel cough is the big
worry to ensure it doesn't turn into pneumonia. On the plus side however
he is eating lots of teeny meals throughout the day and night and
putting weight on. He's also getting a little bit of energy to play and
run in tiny moments. Pip says he is a very loving little dog who is
adoring all the fuss and attention
Will keep you posted

Please send donations to lurcher.org.uk THANKS! - 2011-10-30 16:53 digbysmum
- This is horrendous. So pleased to hear that the lovely Comet is recovering well. Just a thought, but could she have been left behind by travellers. Are there any sites nearby?
- 2011-10-30 15:58 k9chum
- Flo, I'm with you on that. Having looked on google maps there are not that many roads that lead into that area. I for one would be happy to take a turn at watching if Reynard thinks it might help. I'm fairly local to that area so will contact a few Farmers around there and see if they have any suspicions. Well done Pip, went on your web site last night and could weep buckets for the way some people abuse our canine friends.Last edited: 2011-10-30 16:01:56 by k9chum

- It is so wonderful to hear that this poor boy has not only survived so far but is making progress which should mean he is feeling more comfortable. He must be a real fighter and so deserves to know some kindness and happiness in his life.. Sending healing thoughts and kisses to him and so hope we can see another photo when he is well on the road to recovery!
- 2011-10-28 15:02 Neighbark
- Are the police aware or searching a radius for sites, buildings, etc. this poor doggie is a symptom of the worst evil abuse, with so many dogs found recently in this area, surely there has to be a holding-place? Why would anyone want to watch this happening, and why do they then let them go? Were they stolen, then as no buyers - let loose? so many unanswered questions. Needs a designated detective to analyse and search for wherever these dogs are being kept. And how many more are there????
- 2011-10-28 14:44 Julieann
- I work at the vets where he was first brought into. I have NEVER in the 14 years of working for vets seen anything as bad as this. He was so weak he couldn't even sit or lay down, let alone walk. This morning I spoke to the vets where he is now - I was convinced he wouldn't still be alive - BUT he is! And he is making good progress. This has to be a miracle. Bless him. xx
- 2011-10-28 14:38 Unknown
- My dear Comet, if prays can heal then we are sending millions your way , God Bless you and help you to get the strength to survive.....to those that did this I hope you rot in hell for eternity.

He has been called Comet in memory of Star.xxx

- ITS JUST SO SAD TO SEE THIS POOR DOG-I HOPE HE MAKES IT AND FINDS A LOVING HOME. I REMEMBER STAR, MOLLCHOPS, BUT I DONT THINK SHE MADE IT SHE WAS SO BAD. SOME OF THESE DOGS FOUND IN THIS AREA LOOK QUITE HEALTHY AND I WONDERED IF THEY WERE BEING TAKEN FROM OTHER AREAS AND DUMPED HERE -SOMEONES IDEA OF A SICK JOKE. SO DIFFICULT TO FIND RESCUES/HOMES FOR SO MANY UNLESS THE PAPER CAN PUT OUT AN APPEAL? BUT THIS ONE LOOKS AS IF IT HAS BEEN SUFFERINF FOR QUITE SOME TIME.
