Ciara has been found and returned to us safe and well this evening. We are just delighted. Many thanks to all who have helped us and given us good advice. We are so grateful for her safe return. xx

Mike have you been in touch with Cliffe Kennels. pound for Barnsley area?

Would certainly say that it is worth contacting them, even worth a visit even if they say that nothing has been brought in. Not great at breed ID, have known them say an Old English Sheepdog pup to be a "lurcher".

Also worth calling South Yorkshire Pets Lost and Found on 01226 285662. Tell Pat that Paul said to call.Last edited: 2011-10-30 21:57:53 by BADAW

Tomorrow is another day and I hope and pray with all my heart that Ciara will be found safe and well at the Council Kennels. I think that is a crime in itself that nobody is available at weekends to help in this kind of situation. I also have to say that people indirectly commenting on the efforts of the owners, who in my opinion must going through the same emotions of any parent with a missing child, is completely unhelpful and insensitive. I'm sure upon reflection, that no hurt was intended. However, as a devoted dog owner, I would urge users of this site (and I truly believe we must all be coming from the same place here)to be sensitive to the trauma, exhaustion and heartache of the owners and to word their advice, observations and opinions a little more sensitively. Please keep on looking for Ciara everybody. Praying for good news soon. xx
Mike
I am the dog's owner and we have handed out loads of leaflets. We have spoken to many, many people, given them leaflets with all details and a picture of Ciara on which we made before we got the poster from this site (today). I have printed some of them off but we have to be careful where we post them as the council have a problem with them being attached to lamposts etc. We have put leaflets through the doors of the nearest estate where she disappeared as well as in shops, pubs, petrol stations etc. We have a team of friends who have been out looking for her several times a day since she disappeared in a very widespread area. They have handed out leaflets too and spoken to people they have met. We have informed the staff at Pugneys and given them details. We have notified the Dog Warden Service and contacted local stray kennels as well as Petlog and the Community Policeman. We have rung local vets. We are in the process of distributing the doglost poster. We are absolutely distraught at losing Ciara and are doing everything we can to find her and inform people about her. We are truly making every effort we can to find her and would be very upset if anyone thought otherwise. We are really glad this site exists and thank everyone who is trying to help us.

Just been around Pugney's and up to sandal castle for the last few hours but no sign of the dog and oddly no sign of any posters or anything in the area to inform people she is missing. I handed out a lot of flyers to people and under car windscreen wipers and only 2 of the people I spoke to knew about her. One I spoke to said he had helped look for her with the owner the other day and said that the dog had run off so may just be running loose somewhere or been handed in. Hope she is found soon but needs some posters putting up. I didn't take any because I thought there would be loads up already. I would think that the dog would try to make its way home from wherever it stopped running.
