May be slightly too old but they could have got the age wrong - Male Rottweiler on Wirral gov website - http://www.wirral.gov.uk/wirraldogs/Detail.asp?DogsID=2210, says dog is microchipped and they have apparently sent letter to registered address.

Hi there, On this website you can also put an advert on for free, its definatly worth a try as it is a Rottweiler forum, lots of people with Rotties who will keep an eye out for you and give you some support, just registar and log in you can even put a photograph up, people with Rotties are good at spotting any new ones around, good luck. http://www.rottweiler.co.uk/forum/
