Yes eyes peeled for your Bailey even though I'm in Rochester. You never know where a lost dog may turn up. Shelties are so resourceful. They are survivors.
dan
Keep looking everyone, no news on Bailey since end of last year.

Hi just saw this post on FB about a Sheltie sable & white please go look at the ling on dogs lost: http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog_blog.php?dogId=40639#.T-dQRHIk6YI.facebook

This is a very long shot, but 37764 is a report of a sable & white rough collie running loose in Abingdon area, Oxfordshire. Perhaps from a distance a sheltie could look like a rough collie? This dog had not been caught, so no info about sex etc.

I've found a cached version of the advert inc a small photo. I have posted link under the photo of Bailey you put on Doglost Central. I have saved photo to my harddrive in case it disappears again. This is the text portion of the advert: I am re homing my 3 yr old shelte dog due to no fault of his own. his name is buster. Pedigree name Scotish Lad. He is sable and white. He has a full 5 generation pedigree good blood line and is KC registered. Fully vaccinated and wormed upto date. H...
Can't see any further text than that. Here is the link.

Total long shot...received a report that a dog similar to Bailey but very dirty in Carmarthenshire was being advertised for sale on preloved a couple of weeks ago. Ad is apparently no longer available, they said he was a 3 year old sheltie called Buster, and were asking £550.00

We have some great new photos of Bailey. If anyone recognises him from the new pictures or has any information of his whereabouts please get in touch.

I, too, have this little chap on my mind and check on him daily. Could owner say if he visits rescue centres daily, preferably? Even though he's chipped it can still be overlooked if it has migrated to another part of his body. Rescue centres are extremely busy, particularly at this time of year and, with the best will in the world, staff can get things wrong as we've seen on other threads. Bailey could look distinctly unlike a Sheltie after all this time. I do send lots of positive energy to bring him home for Christmas...

I think about this little chap on a daily basis being a sheltie owner and I check every day on Dog lost, how I wish you could have some sightings of him. xx
dave paulson
unfortunately we haven't had any sightings for over two weeks now. We are still looking every day.
BaileyP
Any recent sightings? I have everything crossed that you find him. Sorry I can't help you look - I live too far away but Bailey is always in my thoughts.
CP
Any news on this lovely little chap yet?

Sightings at Mill Lakes
dave paulson
thanks to Sue and Owl for the advice/offer of the trap. Unfortunately, with the lack of positive sightings anywhere we would be at a loss as to where to place it.
DogLostOwl
i have left message with my contact details on landline with offer of trap if needed.

When gamekeepers/farmers lose their dogs they will leave their coat for the dog to come back to and use as a bed. I have cross posted Bailey's poster on facebook. Best of luck finding him xx

Dave/Anne, did you get a cage set up or manage to locate a trap from the info I emailed?Last edited: 2011-11-17 12:42:01 by B30

Always maintain a lookout at the point a sheltie goes missing as they often return there. Everything crossed for you. You're doing a brilliant job. xx

Hi BertieJess

I'm sure Anne and Dave have seen your comment, but where was the dog you mention below found? I can't find any information on it anywhere.

Thanks

Have caught up with Anne now and have emailed some advice on scenting, mapping and approaching frightened dogs etc.

Emz1983 I tried to call Dave and Anne last night but they were out. I'll try to catch up with them later today.
Emz1983
Just got in from looking with Dave and Anne, they've asked me to update as they're still out looking. There have been some really promising sightings in the Bestwood Road/Jenny Burton way area, and also someone says they saw Bailey today near Mill Lakes, we've been all round there tonight, but unfortunately more fireworks have been going off, so worried that even if local he may have bolted. Loads of posters put up, put through letterboxes and handed to anyone (including lots of dog walkers). Dog Lost team, can you suggest anything else that they can be doing - all the rescues, vets, dog wardens in a large area are all aware of Bailey and so is the microchip company.
dave paulson
had a couple of possible sightings around the Hankin Street area of Hucknall, none from Moorgreen/Eastwood so we are concentrating our efforts closer to home now. Many thanks to family and friends who helped again last night and today.
B30
Make sure the area is heavily postered Paul then if he's still around there hopefully more calls will come in.
dave paulson
POSSIBLE SIGHTING- Wednesday lunchtime, Hucknall bypass. Think we need to concentrate bit more time here
B30
Thanks for the update Dave, I've added your mobile number to Bailey's poster
dave paulson
My mobile number is 07835 639084, im on facebook David Paulson at Hucknall,Nottinghamshire. thanks once again to everyone who is helping
dave paulson
many thanks to everyone who is helping to look for Bailey. Just to clarify, the area he was spotted was Dovecote Road at Eastwood. I did get a call from someone back in Hucknall last night with a possible sighting at 5pm Wednesday.Unfortunately this timing conflicts with the Dovecote Road sighting which was around 6PM same evening. However we are putting up as many posters as possible in Hucknall and Eastwood/Moorgreen.
littlehelper
Hi tried ring you, I have put on facebook and sent text's to my family who live near Eastwood and are police officers they have text back will keep a look out for you, try Babbington rescue and Castlefields at West Hallam 01159322763 also try Alfie's dog site good luck hope you get Bailey back soon
B30
Thanks Emz1983,that's very kind of you. If you can help please could you give the owner a call.
Emz1983
I'm not sure if the owners are on here, but I'm happy to give some time tomorrow night, for a couple of hours to door knock wherever they want to go, the only issue I've got is my colour printer is acting up so can't get any posters printed.
Emz1983
X posted on FB, and tagged lots of Hucknall friends in the hope we can spot him. Seen lots of posters in the area. If the owner wants to go a walk and door knocking give me a yell and I will come up to Eastwood/Moor Green. Have any posters been put up near Moor Green Res? If he's gone into the wooded area then fishermen may have spotted him.

Info and advice emailed to owner.

Sorry to see that BAILEY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (34327)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
