Thank you for all your lovely comments. Misty is absolutely fine and was in great condition considering her ordeal - she wonders what all the fuss was about! Our family is complete again and our other dog is back to herself now her best buddy is back. About to order Misty a GPS collar! Best Wishes to you all and I hope there are many more happy stories like ours. Ps if your pet isn't chipped - get them done ASAP - it saved us an awful lot more heartache.xxx

Oh teresa, I'm so happy for you, you're so lucky! so many dogs are being taken from back gardens, if u can't feel safe to let your dog out there, then where can you? Thank goodness for the microchip, 20 miles away, without chip she might have been sold on after the 7 day rule, so doesn't bear thinking about. Wish microchipping was compulsory!

OMG Misty is home!!! Just got her back an hour ago! She was found wandering in a garden in Northampton around 20 miles away. Owner contacted dog warden who scanned her tonight! We are so thrilled! Thanks so much to you all for your help. If your dog is still missing tonight, please don't give up hope, there are many good people out there and we are testament to the fact that much loved pets can be found safe and well. Missing advert incl. photo placed in Northants Evening Telegraph from Weds 23rd November for 1 week. Any ideas on how she would be passed on or sold had she been stolen for re-sale? any other outlets I can check other than freeads, pre-loved etc? It's so hard not knowing.

Many thanks to all of you for your help so far - it is very much appreciated. Halina, I believe Misty went missing between 11:30 and 13:30 on Tuesday 15 November. I have spoken or made contact with most people in the immediate area.

Spoken to local vet. Apparantly a dog was stolen from garden in town nearest to us last week. Stolen by travelers who then sold it on in nearby town. Checking free-ads etc. for adverts.

Have contacted Radio Northampton, Corby Radio and Market Harborough Radio who are putting out appeals for information.
Many friends have distributed poster via facebook.

Have removed the similiar photo for now....it was a male dog!

Owner may not be able to send an actual photo of Misty straight away but I've emailed a selection of similar pics to choose from so hopefully one will be on soon...minus the extra bits LOL!!

Spoke to owner, they live in a rural owner and she just vanised, owner is convinced she has been stolen, they have had things stolen in the past. Owner is going to try local radio station and paper, She has told chip company and vets will be informed. Liz xx
