So sorry to see this; my thoughts are with the family of Digsby, who must be devastated by this. But at least you can lay him to rest, and it should bring some comfort that one day you will see your boy again when the time is right. Please dont think you have lost him forever, you haven`t. Night, night, sleep tight Digsby, now in God`s care where one day you will once again be reunited with your owners. So please dont think you have lost your boy forever; you haven`t. Sending your family healing thoughts for their grief and loads of comforting hugs from me. RIP Digsby and run free at Rainbow Bridge. GOD BLESS Digsby and all those who loved him, and still do+++

Sadly poor Digsby has gone to the Bridge.
Email I received from his owner.

Thankyou for you email, we have actually found Digsby but sadly he had fallen down a gap in a stack of straw and then burrowed a tunnel underneath the straw so there was no chance on knowing he was there and finding him. It was only recently that we found him as the straw has been taken out and used through out the winter, so it is very sad but at least we know whats happened to him now.
Thankyou for your thoughts,

Run free at the Bridge dear Digsby xx

I have contacted the owner and they informed me that Digsby is intact but has very small testicles. At the time I contacted them it was thought that the found dog had been neutered. The found dog has been examined since and found to be intact with very small testicles but it is not microchipped. The found dog is going to the vets tomorrow and will be scanned again for a chip. It really doesn't look like Digsby but will keep an open mind and see what happens at the vets tomorrow and re-contact the owner if necessary.

Will contact Digsby's owners tomorrow and alert them to the found dog in CH61 - dog ID 35384.

Maggie, the owner has checked out the photo and it's not Digsby :(

Have had a look Maggie and I'm really not sure. Digsby's nose looks quite pink at the end but the found looks quite brown. All labs can look so similar to me. Will post the photo on Digsby's owners FB page and alert her to it, see what she thinks :)
Maggie
Pls take a look at this pic of a found yellow male lab,

No news yet unfortunately. Have advised to start postering further afield and poster the perimeter of the area he went missing from, it was dark and he may have got disoriented and wandered in the wrong direction. Come on Digsby, where are you lad?

Come on lovely Digsby, time to come home. You are the image of my Digby! xx

Have spoken to Digsby's owner. Digsby is a farm dog and every night he goes with the farmer to do a last check around the farm, Digsby usually wanders off and meets the farmer as he has finished but this night Digsby didn't return.

They have already contacted the dog warden, microchip company, local vets, local radio and newspapers and have been putting up posters. So far no news of Digsby. Have advised them to keep up with the posters.
