BBKM
Excellent news and what a wonderful team effort. Welcome home Phylis x
AlisonH
So pleased Phylis has been found. A big THANK YOU the vet for assisting.
Jo
I have been following Phylis's story and for some of us the doglost journey is a needle in a haystack. I was sure that with Phylis nearly the size of a pony it was just a matter of time before she was home. I would love to have seen the face of the person who's garden it was - not your everyday stray dog. Phylis, welcome home.

Great news. Welcome home Phylis and no more adventures. stay safe now:-)xxx

Whoop! Wonderful news! Stay safe, Phylis. Don't be running off anymore.

So happy to see Phylis has been reunited! I hope she is now being thoroughly spoilt at home after her ordeal. Sounds like it was a great team effort that led to her being caught, congrats and well done everyone. Stay safe Phylis!xxxLast edited: 2011-12-01 13:52:24 by Schnauzer1

Just had word a vet in the village sedated Phylis this morning when she came for her food...this was at Glebe farm Road...Phylis was later seen at Dale farm...owner is now looking for her and needs anyone in the area to assist bearing in mind we may be looking for a sleeping dog hiding up in undergrowth...if you can assist please phone owner claire on 07981 044778. Please share on facebook and twitter...its important to find her soon.

So close .. v frustrating. Xpect you hv thought of trying to make garden she is eating in so she can't get out .. then perhaps owner wld be able to coax her. Really routing for you to reunite her especially with this foul weather.
minky
Am really rooting for you here. Must be so frustrating. Stay strong! Phylis - be caught hunny-bun. Xx

Sherlock, we borrowed a large trap once from a Birmingham Dog Kennel to catch a Dane, have a look at this link, the address and tel number are on the post with the pics of the traps. Maybe 'Ray' at the Birmingham Dog Kennel who made the traps might know where a trap can be obtained in Kent.

Phylis is feeding in one garden now but still won't allow any one near. We're liaising with the dog warden to see if we can get a big enough crate but we need to make sure it's big enough to ensure she gets in without being half out and springing it because that will set her back further. Not likely to be until tomorrow, but in the meantime feeding is going to continue to try and build her confidence up.

Well, went searching with my friend this morning around Wickhurst Lane area, no sign of Phylis. Also drove around all the country lanes a few times but still no sign. Got home and saw the comment that she had been seen in Glebe Road and that the dog warden was on her way. Has there been any further news??

Sighted at Hurst farm off Glebe Road...Caroline on her way.

Two sightings this morning already. Similar area, am just alerting DW now.
AlisonH
Nicola the owner doesn't post on here so I'm not sure she will see your offer of help. Why don't you give her a call and try to arrange to meet up. I too am a Dane owner and know just how scared Phylis will be by now.
Nicola
I am free tomorrow (Tuesday), and could help look for Phylis. If anyone would like to send me further details, or where to meet to start looking, I should be pleased to help. We have four great danes, so obviously know how the owners must be feeling. Let me know what I can do.

Just spoken to the lady who saw Phlylis. She was seen this afternoon, looking very thin in Wickhurst Road not far from the tennis courts. The lady tried to entice Phylis with food but unfortunately she ran off into a garden and disappeared. The lady has left food out tonight so hopefully Phylis will come back for it. She has also been sighted by the Car Garage in Windmill Road, and was apparantely showing some aggression to the owners dogs. Phylis' owner has said that she is very shy not agressive so she is probably just getting scared now after being outside on her own for so long. I will scout the area tomorrow morning, will take a spare lead and some food and just hope that Phylis is in the mood for being caught! So close toi her being found now, hopefully tomorrow we will have some good news!x

Any news on Phylis? It all seems to have gone quiet.
Schnauzer1
Been back to Weald this afternoon, unfortunately there was no sign of Phylis. Put posters up around the village, was really hoping to see her. Hope Phylis is sighted again soon and finds her way home. x
buffysmum
Sorry to hear this girl is on the run..have you tried calling any Dane breeders in the area. Nearest one I know of is not that close but will prob give you some numbers - Ann or Paula at Kaos Kennels 01634 233624. Am sure they would be happy to spread the word. Hope Phylis is home soon. x
AlisonH
Thank you Schnauzer1. Just spoken to the owner and there were 2 sightings of her yesterday one of her running up a lane by the resident dog walker and one in the field opposite Victory cottage on the edge of Weald. Bumping due to sightings.Last edited: 2011-11-24 11:04:35 by AlisonH

Just back from driving all around Weald, so many country lanes and fields it's impossible to walk everywhere. Didn't see Phylis, strangely I didn't see any posters either, has there been any news?
Unknown
Hope she is home soon. Liz xx
Schnauzer1
Have posted a few posters around Hildenborough Rec and on my road which has lots of dog walkers. Trying to make as many people aware as possible. Have contacted the local dog walking company and they are keeping a lookout too. Will be able to do lots more posters tomorrow. Fingers crossed Phylis is found soon x
Unknown
Sorry to see Phylis. Fingers and paws xd for her safe return. You cant really miss this one can you? ellejay. I agree she does need to be too hot to handle.
ellejay
I will keep an eye out on on the free ads and such alike for this Girl. Being a Dane, hopefully she will be found very soon if she is on the loose, she just needs to be made TO HOT TO HANDLE , as she is not chipped, so get postering where you can. Check all rescues in area, even as far out as Battersea, they have one in Brands hatch you can contact.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Poster emailed to helpers in TN8,9,10,11,13,14,15,16.

Hi, I live very close to Weald, I'm down the road in Hildenborough, have spread the word already via twitter. Will keep an eye out for Phylis and will put posters up etc. Let me know if I can help in any other way.
AlisonH
Owner has just returned my call. She doesn't have a photo of Phylis but a friend of hers has a litter mate so she is going to email a photo of him to admin. Phylis jumped out of the car with her lead still attached and hasn't been seen since.
AlisonH
Called owner but nobody answered and couldn't leave a message.
