So glad you have your boy back John! Had he lost a lot of weight? If this is likely to happen again, how about getting his belly tattood with a number, it's very visual, hardly hurts and doesn't need to be scanned. Only costs around £25. Should get him back sooner.

Really pleased he has been found John. Unfortunately it is the same across much of the country and although most do scan - it isn't a legal requirement for them to do so :o( Not enough communication between authorities for the most part and this has led to dogs not only being held over the weekend but also on occasion being rehomed.I would imagine that all they will say is that it is a legal requirement for Skittles to be wearing a collar and tag when out in public.Many dog wardens will(on the first occasion) take a dog home rather than to kennels if identification is worn. I hope you are reunited with Skittles asap Monday, he is sure to be missing you all but as you say - at least he is safe and will soon be home xxx

Skittles has been handed in to the police, the Police say they have not been given a dog. I also know Skittles has now been handed to the dog warden. I've tried contacting the dog warden. I need a reference number to collect Skittles (I was not given a reference number). The warden can only collect dogs at weekends not release any. They are also charging me £40.00 per day to hold Skittles which is really annoying as they have not checked their missing dog records or scanned his chip. So someones incompetence is going to cost me about £200. At least I now he has been found.

John, thanks for the update. I cannot stress enough just how important it is that you get lots of posters put up, particulary if you think this man is local. It will make everyone aware that Skittles is missing. Hopefully, this man, if he has him will then see the poster and contact you. good luck and hope Skittles is home with you soon. Carole

we now think the man that saw skittles on wednesday was driving a large volvo or a large car and he picked skittles up, all we have to do is find out who this person is. It is also believed this man is local.

Skittles was spotted by a man who was driving a van on Slanting Hill at 23.45 wednesday 23rd november, do not know if skittles was picked up by him or just seen.
