I can't believe that people can be so callous! The police have got to get involved in this one! If i found out that one of my neighbours had Jake or given him away (21.1.05) i don't think i could live next door to them! West Norwood is my own neighbourhood, where i grew up, i never thought this would happen there (the amount of times our dog would take himself for a walk, doesn't bear thinking about) I thought handling stolen goods is as good as being a accomplice, the other question is why are these people so open about picking the dog up and handing it on, surely if they gave the dog away they would know who had it gone to and who it had been passed onto! Makes me sick to bone to think that people are like this. I hope Spot is back home where he belongs! And a warning to these EVER SO NICE NEIGHBOURS! WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND AND YOUR COME UPPENCE WILL COME! I hope if you read this, it knocks some sense into you because that dog should be back where it belongs! Bring it home as quickly as possible, i would die for my dog back! Having a animal taken from you is like having a child stolen! Think about it!!! Sorry if this is harsh but i feel so sick about this, especailly as it seems the neighbours have rubbed there nose in it! I HOPE SPOT IS BACK WHERE HE BELONGS SOON! If theres anything i can do to help, please let me know! Sarah x GOODLUCK IN YOUR SEARCHLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Damned right Jazzi it's bad enough to have your dog go missing - we can all but hope some nice person has found them, fed them, looked after them for the night but then it is every dog lovers duty to get that dog to the police or vets and have it scanned for a microchip to check if there is a desperate owner out there who should be re-united with their pet. No dog lover on this planet would find a dog & then cold heartedly give it to some one, who gave it to some one etc..... I wonder how much bloody money changed hands on this dog & how many times. Do the right thing - if you found it get it back to the owners or hand it in to the police. THIS IS THEFT BY FINDING ALL RIGHT AND WHO EVER BOUGHT IT OR RECEIVED IT IS AN ACCOMPLICE TO A CRIME & ALSO RECEIPT OF STOLEN GOODS !!!!!!!! Apart from anything else this dogs should be with the family it loves. Take Care Nikki xxxxxx I've also done posters for the massive show this weekend so who ever has or had the dog is going to find it very hard indeed to hide it after this exposure so give it up NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is theft by finding.......the law states that if you find a dog that YOU MUST report it the police. These people have stolen this dog - plain and simple! They should not get away with this, these people have to be stopped......or this will continue. We have to fight for our dogs rights - they are our dogs and NO ONE ELSES!!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This sounds very similar to a recent case where the law established finders do not automatically become keepers! Look out for a big feature in tomorrows Daily Mail on dog lost and our success stories!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It now appears that Spot was found the day he went missing by a local family who did not report the find. This family say that they gave the dog away. They also say that the person he was given to then gave him to someone else?? The owner will be asking the Police to become involved and will be taking legal advice if Spot is not returned to her very soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
