I have received the notification about Pumpkin as I live in the area and I had my collie stolen in April this year. As the comments below have advised don't give up trying as I got Indie back 2 months after she was taken with the help of DogLost and her own FaceBook page and posters and newspaper articles etc. Keep an eye on a Webpage called PreLoved also as they have lots to sell but don't give up hoping and I will keep an eye out. Indie's owner.

.....its absolute rubbish ! hope your disregarding such rubbish and carry on making Pumpkin too hot to handle.... Ive had 1 hoax call in 9 month.I can assure you that as Pumpkin was stolen the chances of your mums dog being taken to anywhere with a scanner are zilch!You did get a CRN?for what its worth the police dont give a damn what you do in your efforts to find Pumpkin nor who pips you to the post.

Hi everyone. The police have told us to take all the posters down, posts on Facebook and everywhere else and rely upon the dog warden or vets because of hoaxes or people who may follow the information and claim the dog for themselves or have the dog and harm it.I personally think thats obstructive and not very helpful but as it isn't my dog there isnt much more that i can do. My hands are tied at the moment and all i can do is keep following the links on the internet like the ones you have all helped me with and looking on the sites like gumtree/loot/epupz etc and hoping that the phonecall will come that she is found. I'm sorry.

Drove around all morning yesterday as it was pouring down.I dont have printer but offered to help with postering,she thought she`d covered it though I never saw one however she had noticed some posters missing sunday.She had informed vets and microchip so doing the right things.Ill give her a ring see if we can crack on postering.gail x

Thanks everyone. Pumpkin is actually my Mums dog but she isnt very internet savvy so has asked me to set this up for her. She let her out to go to the toilet yesterday morning and within less than 2 mins the gate was undone and she was gone. We have informed the police, dog warden, the microchipping company (thank goodness she was chipped the week before) and all the animal shelters/r.s.p.c.a etc as well as postering and trying to get it out there on the internet and facebook/twitter etc. My mums house is at the bottom of a dead end so you have to make an effort to walk off the road to get thereand two men came down to the garden gate the day before and were talking to my mum and fussing over the dog. Its probably coincidence but my mum has reported it to the police anyway. Fingers crossed she turns up if someone sells her on or tries to take her to a vet and the chip gets scanned. We are distraught without her. Thanks for your help everyone xx

Hi sorry to hear pumkins been stolen hope she`s back soon she`s adorable im sure your heartbroken and worried sick.Im WN5 just off Belle Lane on Barrett Est I also had my dog stolen from back garden theives clipped the wire and lifted fence panels up to take Tay it was Fri eve 11th march 2011.Here to help...have you knocked on everyone`s door of every house from which the`re able to see your garden and property,best to do it now.Posters;get cracking, if anyone has any info your contact Nos can be found on them.Put a poster in every taxi rank and at the council depot,schools are a great place, pubs and clubs too especially where scallys drink,doctors surgery/health clinics,hairdressers if your on face book ask everyone to share your doglost poster and to share again and again.Wigan worlds a good site to get em all talking,make dog walkers and lovers aware theyre the eyes and ears you can rely on!If you can have it announced at football/rugby match great.Have you had any thoughts or any clues as to which lowlife scumbag stole pumpkin?and where she is?think back if anything on hindsite happened or concerned you recently!Lets get this little babe found.I can help with postering after 4pm today if you like if posters are ready.contact me on 213587 if I can help in anyway.x

• If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
• Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
• A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (34974)
• Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
