THE RAINBOW BRIDGE POEM

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

We have received some very sad news and it is with the deepest regret to be moving Meg into Rainbow Bridge.

UPDATE from her family posted on DogLost NORTH WEST facebook page.

Amy Faith
Just want to let everyone at DogLost North West know about my poor Meg. We lost her last night in her sleep. We are all devastated, but so thankful that we found her when she went missing so that we had the chance to spend some more precious time with her and say goodbye properly. She was safe and warm at home in her bed when it happened. Thank you to everyone who helped me when she was missing. I know Meg would have thanked you all and that she was grateful for the wonderful lady who discovered her, dried her and fed her while I combed the streets. This world is full of amazing and lovely ppl. She was 4/5 when we rescued Meg from a life on the street so she has spent a lovely 11-12 years in our embraces. Cant wait to see her again one day :( xxxx
Meru
Welcome home Meg - stay safe now xx

What a fantastic finder to do all that caring. This kind of help restores ones faith in humans; bless that person.
Stay safe, Meg; glad you're lucky enough to get her back, Amy. Do try to get her chipped, like Jan says. x

Oh, I'm so happy she's home safe! Been looking out for her all day and so pleased she's back with her family. Newsham Park and Tuebrook might have been lovely 30 years ago but with all the staffie dogs with bad lads these days it's no place for an old lady dog out on her own!

This is the best news ever! I'm so pleased you're home Meg - I've just come in and so glad I checked before I did anything else! Reading these posts takes me back 30 years as if it was yesterday - I lived where you are and mentions of Tuebrook and Newsham Park brought back so many memories. Take care Meg - so glad you're safe. xx

Thanks Amy for your lovely email and reunited photo which finishes her page off nicely. Great you are going to get her a collar and hopefully MICROCHIPPED, never too old to be done and can save a lot of heartache if found and scanned. You can all get some well earned rest now and enjoy your Christmas. xxx
AmyCarson
She will never be out of our sight ever again, definitely gonna get her a little comfortable collar to wear now too. Thank you for all of your help and concern. So happy to have her home x

WOO HOO she is HOME. Just had that most important call with the great news. She was found in a lady's garden on Friday all wet and cold, finder took her in dried her off, fed her and started to put notices up in the shops today. So so pleased and knew it would not be long before she was found. Her family are over the moon. WELL DONE to her finder and THANK YOU to everyone who has shared and help look out for her. Sending gorgeous Meg a big hug and cuddle, WELCOME HOME and into the BLUE you go. Jan x
Zaksmum
I'm in Tuebrook Amy...suggest you put up posters there too as the local shops have a lot of people passing, also it's close to Newsham Park.
CP
I do hope Meg is found soon; she looks a lovely, elderly lady and must be missing her home comforts. I shall be on the alert and as vigilant as possible as the area is not too far away from me. Willing this little lady back.....
AmyCarson
Thank you! I will be in the Anfield/Everton area later today to post up posters.
