- Thank you for all your kind responses. Christmas is empty without Tommy but at least he's at peace now. He was the sweetest, kindest dog ever and truly didn't deserve this.

- As an owner of a Jack russell very much like Thomas I'm so sorry he didn't make it home.... run free after those rabbits now Thomas till you meet your family again...xxx Loss Of A Dog................ If you've ever known the joyful sound Of barks that fill the air- A sloppy kiss, a friendly paw, A Quiet adoring stare If you’ve ever had a special friend To share a tear or two, Or maybe just a wagging tail To lift you when you’re blue- If you’ve ever lost your troubles In a joyful rompoutside, Or shared your fears with listening ears That never left your side If you’ve ever felt the wrenching pain That only death can send Then you have lost not just a dog You’ve truly lost a friend A loving God would not destroy The love that He creates So rest assured that you will find Your dog at Heaven’s gate. That joyful bark, that sloppy kiss Will greet you once again And share your love forevermore Your Dog…..Your Precious Friend ♥ x ♥

- Thank you for helping to look for Thomas. Unfortunately we found his body yesterday at the side of the rail track in Eggesford and we believe Thomas had been hit by a train. He's at peace now and buried somewhere with a lovely view over the Devon hills.

- Have u been watching the Gumtree and prelove sites?-there have been quite a few JRT for sale. If not, then try and contact both sites and ask if they have records from the time he went missing, he might just have been pictured in an advert, worth trying.

- Can you get everyone you know to put a poster or flier in their car rear window? Good idea to replace the posters as soon as possible. Are any in a place where they can be watched, pub, shop or garage?
- 2011-12-15 14:51 Bluenoon
- Someone keeps taking his posters down, so I am convinced now that Thomas has been stolen. Thanks everyone who has shared this and for all your comments. We are onto the railway this afternoon and I am going back out to put up more posters this afternoon. I am also going to report him to the police as potentially having been stolen.

- COULD HE POSSIBLY HAVE GONE DOWN ANOTHER RABBIT HOLE OR BE CAUGHT SOMEWHERE BY HIS HARNESS?

- I am sorry that there has been no news yet, I wish we had more helpers in your area to help. I will call you this evening to see if there is anything else to sugest. Maybe contact the local hunt and ask if their terrier man can help? I will do a bit of searching before calling.

- IF HE WAS SEEN NEAR THE RAILWAY LINE HAVE YOU BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE RAILWAY? I DO SO HOPE YOU FIND HIM SOON AS HE MUST BE SO SCARED.

- I brought someone over with a dog a few days ago, but I don't really know anyone around here, so it's difficult. We leave Devon next week for good, so I am desperate to get him back. If he is still alive, I am convinced he is still hiding in the woods. He's so timid. I have searched high and low and called and called, but I don't even know whether he would come to me now as he's probably in a bit of a mess emotionally. If anyone can help me get him back I would be so grateful. He so doesn't deserve this, he's such a sweet little chap

- Owner has been searching each day for Thomas and he was last sighted by an older lady on Friday 2nd Dec running alongside Eggesford Railway line. This info was not made available to owner until the following Weds as lady who saw Thomas was away and only found owners number when she came home. I have been calling local vets and now vets further afield to see if he has been handed in but no luck, although all of these vets now have his details and are aware that he is not chipped. Poor Thomas has only been home a few weeks as he was 'lost' down a rabbit hole for 6 days recently. Owner was out with a sniffer dog on Saturday just gone but no luck. Anyone have any other suggestions? Owner is losing faith but we have to get Thomas home for Xmas!!! A group has been set up on FB, link to follow..... All ideas and help more than welcome. Xxx
