- Thank you for everyones txt alerts to tell me the fantastic news. Didnt have my phone on me today :)x
Im am so happy Oliver has been found and someone managed to get him out of danger, visit the vets and kindly look after him. I am however concerned that the vet that checked him over didnt let the finder know he had to contact the DW to report him as found. If they had done that they would of matched him up with the lost report and he would of been home days ago!!
Just spoken to Mandi and Oliver is now HOME...Brilliant' Welcome home Mr Oliver, you are one lucky boy with a great family that love you to bits :)xxx

- Mandi, he is one lucky boy to have been found by such a caring person.
Katie and Vicky have done an outstanding job in their help and support. Would be great to have a REUNITED photo either by mobile or text to finish his page off nicely when is back HOME.
WELL DONE and THANK YOU to everyone who has helped in the search for Oliver and a MASSIVE THANKS to Craig for looking after him so well. :) x - 2011-12-08 15:49 Mandi
- Hi all, thought I had better update how he was found and where he is. I was extending the area search again and rang the radio station in Sheffield, then a couple of vets, the first turned up nothing but the 2nd had health checked Oliver after a chap had brought him in after finding him on Woodhead apparantly dodging lorries! yikes. This kind man and his wife took Oliver in and have been looking after him all week. They have got quite attached to him. Oliver has been going to work with Craig the chap every day. I have spoke with Craig and have arranged to collect him with my son later. We are so incredibly relieved and excited to have our precious baby back where he belongs! Thank you so much to Katie who has been excellent and the rest of the team for your support, and well Vicky what can I say!!! I have enjoyed our many long conversations. We will be keeping a close eye on this site and helping out wherever we can..... :)

- And so the hunt for Oliver continues :( we saw the little collie that had been sighted, unfortunately it isn't Oliver. It looks like somebody is turfing a gorgeous little collie out every morning! Even as we watched (as we couldn't get very close to it), the poor little thing went running across the road in front of a car! Why do these people treat their dogs this way, they don't deserve to be in charge of an animal :(. Thank you anyway for the support and assistance, Katie you are fantastic....... x

- Hey there, we were out for ages last night scouring the area, left his blanky, tuna, a toy, water and scented in a circle around the area. Just behind the hill you can get to the industrial area including Glossop Caravans and other businesses. I am hoping he has found shelter through the cold nights and comes out to play regularly in the mornings.... he is appearing at the time when workers start and there seems to have been a pattern formed! It is so hopeful, I am shaking this morning, praying it is our beautiful baby :). The support from this network is amazing, thank you to all!!!! The helper is such a compassionate person as is everybody else I have spoken with over the last few days xxx

- Thank you Lizzy :)x
I had a call this morning from the High Peak council regarding a sighting of a Border Collie not far from the area Oliver went missing.(Gamesley, Melandra Castle) The lady who phoned in said she has seen this dog for about a week now while she has been walking her dog, usually about 8am in the morning. He will not go to her but is quite happy to play with any dogs. It also comes to light that a man has seen this dog aswell while out with his dog. The owner has informed me Oliver has been walked through the sited area, so not unfamiliar with it. Tonight the owner will be going nearby to drop off a blanket, smelly food and water. She also has the scenting instructions. Another helper is going to go back with her early tomorrow morning with her dog, around the time he has been sighted. There is also a road he could get to, so ive suggested to pop flyers in letter boxes in the the houses nearby. Fingers crossed it is Oliver :) - 2011-12-07 13:35 Unknown

Mandi thank you so much for your input in helping reuniting Raff SK13. You are doing a sterling job in your search for Oliver and it will pay off for you. Great you are updating his page it helps us and you. Keeping everything crossed we see him back home soon. x - 2011-12-05 23:06 Gillian
- Mountain Rescue and local Rangers now know about Oliver.
Re the newspapers, my husband is vicar here in Tintwistle, and I'm sure he's been interviewed on a Tuesday for inclusion on the following Thursday. I may be wrong though. It might be worth giving them a ring in the morning :) - 2011-12-05 22:48 Unknown
- Hi Mandi' Thank you for updating Olivers page..You have done a fantastic job so far contacting all the right people and more. Not sure if you managed to chat to the farmer re the game keepers. Newspapers are a good idea Gillian, we did touch on this tonight. I think its normally latest Saturday to get it in the following weeks. Dont forget vets in Sheffield and surrounding areas, i know you have covered local ones. Mountain Rescue and Rangers, great idea Gillian. The more people aware the better. Will catch up with you tomorrow :)x
- 2011-12-05 21:05 Gillian
- How about the local newspapers - Glossop Chronicle and Tameside/Glossop Advertiser. They come out on a Thursday so time to get in touch for this week. They do carry missing dog stories at times. Also High Peak radio? Sorry, don't have contacts for these immediately to hand but could find them if you need them.
- 2011-12-05 21:01 Gillian
- Wow, you have done loads! I do hope it pays off. What about Mountain Rescue and Park Rangers? I got in touch with the Mountain Rescue about the other missing collie and they were very supportive as was the local Longdendale Park Ranger. If you haven't got in touch with them then I can do that for you. Was it towards Crowden that he was lost?
I actually live in Tintwistle on the A628 - not a great walker and don't know the moors very well but we do walk our whippets in the area so I'll keep a lookout as well.
I'll go and look you up on Facebook now x - 2011-12-05 20:51 Mandi
- Hi Gillian, yes you are correct, it is the A628!!! I am not fab with the roads around there but did notice the difference today whilst going back up to where he went missing... thank you for the rectification! We have been up there today again to place more food etc, and a walker who walks his dogs in the area twice a day for a few hours at a time, has taken a poster and also is on the lookout for him, me and my son are just on our way back up onto the moors to see whether we have any luck :) thanku again. If you are on FB and wish to add me my user name is Mandi Wood (Balderstone Technical College) and the pic is of me and my fiance Nigel. Thanku again x

- Thank you for your comments so far! The support is very much appreciated :) so far since Tuesday when Oliver went missing we have done the following: Looked constantly within the area and surrounding area, walked pretty much half the distance of Woodhead on the roadside to check he hasn't had an accident (not a nice walk for that particular reason). We are avid walkers and went back out on the moors the same evening for a few hours, then in the morning again and during the daytimes, we have been in the area he went missing and all around the reservoirs and dams. We have rung the local vets, Police in South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, posted posters in Holmfirth and all the farms around the area. We have his birth family at Crowden looking for him as are a couple of avid dog walkers in the area. We have posted in all the local pubs and some shops. There is a wonderful gem of a lady helping us and she is amazing!!! She has posted it across the airways of Eddie Stobart Lorries, she has passed on the information to a friend who walks collies, who's son is a photographer and is passing around all the photographers websites in case of a sighting, she has also contacte the radio stations for an appeal to go ut and posted our poster in numerus places. My partner has contacted the following - South Yorkshire Animal Rescue. Derbyshire Dog Warden.Sheffield Dog Warden, Barnsley Dog Warden,Huddersfield Dog Warden, High Peak Dog Warden, we have asked that the moores helicopters are informed to look out for him. He has been reported to the Barnsley/Sheffield and Tameside RSPCA. If anybody has any info no matter ow irrelevant it may seem, please contact us asap. Many thanks to all you dog lovers, and if there is anything I can do to help you in your own quest please let me know :) xxxmandi

- Any more news? I'm wondering if they mean the A628 - the A57 branches off to Glossop but the road that runs through Tintwistle and up the Woodhead Pass is the A628.
- 2011-12-05 13:49 Unknown
- Hi Gillian' the owner is calling me later, i will try and get more details for you. It does say Woodhead Moors - A57 approx 1.5 miles outside of Tintwistle in the where lost info, if that helps :)
- 2011-12-05 13:44 Unknown
- Owner hasnt registered with AW yet, although she has done everything else, DW, vets, rescues, farms etc and posters are everywhere. She is going to Manchester dogs home today as there have been numerous Border Collies brought in over the last week. There were orginally a couple of sightings of him near a farm and on the road, but nothing since. The owners has been back everyday, morning noon and night. Sadly he isnt microchipped.
- 2011-12-05 13:12 Gillian
- Do you have a more specific location that Oliver was lost from? A57 runs away from Tintwistle and away from the moors in this area although does then cross the Snake Pass but that wouldn't be so close to Tintwistle. Was he lost anywhere near the reservoir chain?
- 2011-12-05 13:07 Jackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
- Think this may be the one we saw on AW last week when we were looking for Inga, thought it might have been the photo that was posted on FB, obviously not as that one was reunited.
