I think I misunderstood The-Moore-Four's reply. You did take your 2 black and white's for a walk but you also have a red and white at home that just had puppies. I guess it was you wearing the red coat then. Past you twice so we must have just missed Bodger a couple of times.

The main thing is he's home. So glad he made it back for christmas HevaBean. We were so worried and would have also been thinking about him over chrsitmas if he was still gone. If only all the Lost Dog's on this site had such a happy ending.
HevaBean
The weird thing is the-moore-four lives 10 mins away from me! We said tess, maddy, badger and bodger will have to meet up. He said it was a bridge not a loch :/
Goldenfrodo
So pleased this little one is safely back home x
jobadger

Today we past a man with 2 young black and white border collies between findern and wellington so it couldn't be you. Yesterday we did pass a man with a red and white border collie but that was the only dog he had with him. I said you dson't see many red and white's do you?

So glad you found him. He must have known they were his breed :) such a clever boy keeping off those railway tracks. Where abouts did you find him again? Me and Helen don't recall coming past a lock in willington.

Even though we never met the poor little fella we felt a close bond to him and was desperate for him to be found
The-Moore-Four
neil yes i also had a red and white border colour with my other black and white collie, tess the red and white one had puppies 3 months ago so she must have wanted to mother him
NickyJ
Hoorah for The-Moore-Four and their clever, kindly Collie! If only more lost doggies were this easily reunited!
digbysmum
That is just brilliant - what a clever little pup, keeping out of harm's way! Big thank you to The-Moore-Four for keeping him safe until reunited. Welcome home gorgeous little Bodger. Stay safe now xx
Neil
Yay! that's amazing news. Often thought of the poor fella in the freezing cold since saturday when we recieved the email alert from doglost. You have one very clever puppy there. He managed to keep off the railway that was right next to the canal path alot of the way. He even managed to go over a bridge near the bubble pub/inn lock that cars go over as under the bridge there was no way past. So glad he's back, just in time for christmas.

I'm curious. The-Moore-Four we wondered if we may have passed you today twice between willington and findern. Did you pass a couple with a red and white border collie(she was abit angry) and a black dog? :)
Helen
I'm so pleased he's safe. He's very clever to stick to the canal. Was very worried that he might wander on to the railway line as it is never far away from the canal.

8 whole days lost too. Such a lot for a little puppy!

Neil
We were at willington around 9:30am this morning putting posters up and we walked about 2 miles down the canal path adding more as we went. We also headed back to the last bridge yesterday where we put the final poster near the indian restaurant. Really hope it's him...Last edited: 2011-12-14 14:52:26 by Neil

Helen
thanks for keeping me informed. Fingers crossed!!
The-Moore-Four
the owner is coming over to look whether it is him now
The-Moore-Four
i found him by willington loch, my female border collie pottered over with this puppy. i figured it may be this dog from the conversation in the comments, i have left a message for her. he is fine at the moment i have fed him and took him to the vets but he had no micro chip
Helen
Hi. I'm not the owner but have been helping look for him. Where did you find him and when? I think as long as you leave a message on the answering machine, it will be picked up.

Do hope it's him, thankyou so much!
The-Moore-Four
i think i have your dog, have tried calling but phone wont connect. if so i have bodger at my house!
HevaBean
hi yes I have actually been to willington as I have family there and have been walking down the canal, the green man and the green dragon? both have posters :) also handed posters to boat owners at the loch there, thank you you have both been amazing, I have been out earlier just walking along and looking for any houses near the canal and handed in posters to some of them.
Neil
We parked our car near that restaurant yesterday and walked over the bridge and turned left heading in the direction back towards Swarkstone. We put up more posters on the canal path in that direction. We then made our way back to the indian restaurant and put 1 poster up on a small white bridge abit further up that starts heading in the Willington direction.

So if he is still going along the same canal path the same way it seems like he is heading towards willington or has already made it to Willington. The next place after Willington seems like Burton looking from google maps but there is a fair bit of countryside until reaching Burton. We may head to Willington today and try put a few more posters up. Hope he is spotted again soon.

Really hope he is found soon or starts heading back towards Swarkstone x
HevaBean
He was spotted across the way from nadee the indian restaurant I handed a poster to them and to canal boater they said they will keep their eyes peeled whilst going down the canal! I can't thank you both enough!
Helen
Oh that's good news. I'm very happy to go and put more posters up near where he's been sighted. I'm on holiday from uni at the moment so it is no problem. Did the person who called give you a specific location at all and was it yesterday that he saw the puppy?

Neil
Hi i'm with Helen. The sighting must be him because we knew the canal path leads to Findern. Maybe it's worth putting posters up in that area next. Hope he is found soon, we are keen for him to be found desperatelyLast edited: 2011-12-13 11:55:11 by Neil
HevaBean
thank you Helen you are an absolute star! we had a sighting yesterday of a timid border collie puppy in Findern he said he'd seen a poster! i cant thank you enough. we drove to findern but Bodger was long gone
Helen
Glad I can help. Really hope he turns up somewhere. Let me know if there's anything else I can do.
B30
Thanks for all your help Helen
Helen
Hello
Took a poster into Swarkestone Nursery this morning and they are going to put it on their notice board for us and keep a look out themselves. They are also going to do the same at Homefields cattery and kennels just down the road. They're both quite close to where you last saw him so hopefully will bring some news. We also went down to the Bubble Hotel and put a poster near the lock there.

Thankyou for putting up posters I appreciate all and any help! He ran under the lowes lane bridge towards the direction of the ragley boat shop. I ran after him with badger but he was quick and it was really muddy, I go out everyday calling his name with a big bag of treats. Just hope he finds badgers scent and comes home
Helen
Hi
We have walked my dogs down the canal path today from Swarkestone Lock to Ragley Boat Shop (( looked on google maps when I got home for the name of the building). We've put up eight missing posters.

Did you see which way he was heading when he ran off? Just wondered if I should have looked in the fields behind the house?

Helen
HevaBean
Hi yes email received :) thankyou all numbers called today, if you walked to the lock and went over the bridge. When you turn right and walk past the house and bins he got off there
Helen
Hi, would like to help if I can. I live in Alvaston and received his details today by email. Were you along the cycle path when he ran off and which side of the canal was it? I will try and walk my dogs around there to see if I see anything.

Really hope you hear about him soon.Last edited: 2011-12-10 12:30:59 by Helen
