So sorry to hear about his lovely girl. I don't know when the railway rules changed, but my previous property had a railway line adjacent and Network rail had to maintain the fencing to a high standard. It was in perfect condition and no animal could have got through. xx

Lindy, my heart goes out to you. I cannot tell you how distressed I am to hear this about your precious Safi. My Cassie was also lost this way and poor Poppy recently too. And all lost at Xmas time. Please know that Safi would not have suffered at all but it leaves us, the owners with such a tragic, heart wrenching outcome. You DID find Safi, she is no longer lost. She can rest in peace in God's arms until you meet again - and you will. Not only have you lost your precioius dog but you also have the shock to deal with. Please hang in there, for Safi. I know you would choose to suffer, rather than her. Please know she will never leave you, she just had to go heaven because she had already earnt her wings. She will wait for you to earn yours and you will be together again. With love, God bless you and precious Safi - together forver. Kim x

As with all the other comments I am saddened to read this but I would also like to thank the rail worker who managed to find you through the posters. It couldn't have been easy for him having lost his own dog. It is so hard to loose a pet but the not knowing must have been much harder. x

I should also say that we are very grateful for the support we have found here, in our local community and the local dog wardens. This was completed by the bearer of the news: a Network Rail worker who was dispatched to recover Safi's body, and having recently lost a Springer of his own, drove around the local area until he found our posters. Thanks to you all.

Unfortunately, we have learnt that Safi was killed by a train on the day she disappeared. I've tried to update the details twice here, but she is still reported as being lost. I'll try again later.

I've just spoken with Safi's owner and offered advice and am emailing info sheets now. They have done all the right things in alerting all the relevant authorities. Stay safe Safi.x.
