- It was actually the finder who was responsible for the happy ending, as she looked on this site and found Trixie among the missing ones. No one knows how the gate was opened, but Trixie wandered out and was picked up. I don't know about spare Wispas, Sable. Anyone who has ever met my dog tends to feel that one of her is enough, as she can be a right little madam when she is off duty! There are a few other dogs starting to do the same work, but I don't know of any in Scotland so far. I think some of the trails we followed with Trixie's scent must have been trails of the person who had taken her in, as they went all round the adjacent streets.

- The evidence seemed to point to Trixie being stolen, as she disappeared from the back garden and both front gate and back garden gate were open. However, I went there yesterday to see if there was scent leading away from the property, and Wispa's nose indicates that Trixie left her home on her own feet. There was a good trail up Station Road to the local primary school, then down a footpath to a playing field and along the backs of the houses on June Road. After that the trail wasn't so good, and we were off snow (good for scent) and on to slush (difficult). It's possible she may have gone into those back gardens. Has anyone seen her or taken her in? She is a friendly dog who likes adults but is afraid of children.
