- Loss Of A Dog................ If you've ever known the joyful sound Of barks that fill the air- A sloppy kiss, a friendly paw, A Quiet adoring stare If you’ve ever had a special friend To share a tear or two, Or maybe just a wagging tail To lift you when you’re blue- If you’ve ever lost your troubles In a joyful rompoutside, Or shared your fears with listening ears That never left your side If you’ve ever felt the wrenching pain That only death can send Then you have lost not just a dog You’ve truly lost a friend A loving God would not destroy The love that He creates So rest assured that you will find Your dog at Heaven’s gate. That joyful bark, that sloppy kiss Will greet you once again And share your love forevermore Your Dog…..Your Precious Friend ♥ x ♥

- I am so, so sorry. Awful outcome. So sad for owners and precious Sammy. So angry that tis was not reported by person who hit him. It should have been quick, so Sammy would not have not suffered. Sammy is safe now in the arms of God, until he and his loving family are reunited once more - this time never to part again. Little Sammy has already earnt his wings. God bless sweet Sammy and your family. With love, Kim x

- So sorry to see that Sammy has gone to Rainbow Bridge. At least you know his final resting place and rest assured he will never leave you. He is with you in spirit because love never dies. And one day you will be reunited with Sammy. Talk about all the things he did and how he may have made you laugh. I think this helps. Sending you healing thoghts for your grief and loads of hugs. Night, night, sleep tight sweetheart in God`s arms and play with your pals at the bridge.

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE POEM
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

- Oh no, poor baby :( I know from conversations with you how hard his owner has worked. hippy chick, you did a great job in helping the owner, just so sad that there wasn't a different outcome.
Run free at the bridge sweet Sammy, my thoughts are with your family :( - 2011-12-20 18:50 Unknown
- I am so sorry to have to say that Sammy was found earlier today on a road going over the moors. Someone saw his body and contacted the owner via a poster they had seen. He had probably been there since last Thursday. He is now back home and has been buried in the garden and daffodil bulbs will be planted on his grave.
I have spoken to his owner everyday since Sammy went missing and she has worked so hard to find him, she is devastated but now has closure.
Heart breaking at this time of the year, have shed many tears today.
God bless you Sammy your family loved you so much. Run free you beautiful boy xxx - 2011-12-19 18:36 Unknown
- Still no news on Sammy..Everyone in the area seems to be aware he is missing with lots of support from local people. The owner has printed off over 300 flyers and has also managed to get him in the local paper. I have suggested to contact DW's in other surrounding areas and vets, just in case he has been picked up and taken out of the area, therefore Manchester Dogs Home will be visited aswell...

- Thanks Jayne and Kym :)
I spoke to Sammy's owner last night and the right authorities have been informed and poster have been put up.
Sammy went missing from the garden. It is quite a rural area with the property being situated within open fields. There is a farm gate that someone must of left opened as thats the only way he could of got out. The owners have searched the fields but there has been no sign of him, luckily they are all fenced off. There is a lane that he may of taken that leads away from the fields to a small area that has a couple of shops.(He has walked this route with the owner before). Someone thought they saw a dog near to here, so the owners are trying to get more information about the sighting. They are also trying to get him in the paper and will be putting more posters up today.
Aspen kennels does have a website where all stray dogs photographs are put on when they are taken there, so i will keep checking.
He has been registered with AW...
