He was seen at Park Farm and then heading back towards Lound on the road so somebody followed him and he went straight up the driveway where he lives!
He is fine just a little dirty and very hungry....oh and he smells a bit!! I don't want to make this the oscars but I want to thank everybody who has helped get this boy home, not just the people who were out day and night but everybody who has spread the word on here and giving the owners the support they needed!
Welcome home Oliver xxx

- Between 7.15 and 9am this morning I walked the whole area behind Poplars Farm across to the back of the school and the wooded area just South across from Lound Church. Sadly I didn't see anything although did chat with the herdsmen at Poplar Farm who are still keeping a look out.
Also: I saw the dead deer at Herringfleet last night - it was very light in colour and was most definitely a deer NOT a dog. It was gone this morning at 9.30am. I am going back over at 3pm this afternoon with my son if there is no good news by then. - 2011-12-22 10:38 reiki_angel

- Owners were called last night at 2 o'clock in the morning but it turned out to be a hoax as there was nobody in the area they were told to go to and certainly no Oliver. I am so angry about this, the owners have enough to contend with without having to deal with these sort of phone calls
- 2011-12-22 09:39 Julia
- yes there is a white deer I have seen it near Bunkers Hill as you approach the water works - Now heading out to x

- Sightings last night not confirmed. Possible RTC in Herringfleet so Ava going to check...think it may have been a white deer though. Dad's been out since 6am...no confirmed sightings. - Hi again - I have to take my son out to work at 7am tomorrow so I am going to do an early walk. I am going to head for the area that he was seen early this morning unless anyone has better advice. Donna

- hi just to let you know i haven't stoped looking for Oliver since the first search party went out yesterday behind the owners property and today we walked from Hopton to Fritton on all of the farmers fields/tracks,went down to ashby church, over to the scout huts down the main drag and even walked down blocker lane I have handed out flyers to anyone i have came in contact with, my mum is aware as she works in the Fritton decoy, I have friends who live in ashby dell who are keeping an eye out and have posted everyday on facebook several times, I really hope this boy is found or comes home soon, he really is pulling at my heart strings, stay strong ava and sarah there are alot of people looking for him. will check the website tomorrow and head out again sending you lots of love x
- 2011-12-21 18:37 ruthann
- i will go back in the morning to the place in the woods and see if there is any more evidence of him sleeping there

- I don't know if you are aware but lost dogs tend to move in a triangle formation, so if you map out his sightings, if may give a clue as to where is likely to move to next. It may also indicate if he has found a safe haven somewhere to sleep? Lets hope so and stay strong x
- 2011-12-21 18:00 Nina
- Hope the offer from Rain Air will produce results and it will help get Oliver home. Have just emailed them to say thnak you for thier generous offer.
- 2011-12-21 17:34 Helen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
- Thank you Julia, we had a helicopter out the day before yesterday as soon as the sightings were called in ( it was already in the air) but sadly Oliver wasn't spotted. Please remember although Oliver is a nearly white coated dog he won't be by now, we are searching for a very muddy damp dog which would be hard to see in the fields!!
Kayzl he wasn't wearing a collar when he went missing. - 2011-12-21 17:23 KayzL
- By the way, does Oliver have any collar on with ID tag incase anyone else may find him?
- 2011-12-21 17:18 Julia
- I have read through the amazing efforts of today - but it seems he is very frightened and it needs to be his owners who approach him..... don't ask don't get so I asked RAIN AIR of Beccles if they would concentrate any flights (subject to weather) across the Lound/Somerleyton area giving them the sighting spots of today, they said YES! I just thought if we could see him from above we might just locate him - Mr Rainer was very helpful he has a friend with a helicopter who weather permitting will ask if he will do a flyover as with Oliver being a large dog and nearly white coated on baron fields hes gotta stand out - so all being well they will head north to help he has my number but I will text him the owners number to ensure any sighting from about (if its flying weather) will get them to the area asap - thats a massive thank you to RAIN AIR BECCLES!!! Oliver you will be home soon x

- Julia it is likely that he won't come to his name, your best approach would be if you see him to crouch down low with no eye contact and throw some smelly food to encourage him to you and possible back off, let him approach you.He will need to have the confidence to come to you, you could also try whimpering/crying very softly.
PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO GRAB HIM AS YOU WILL ONLY HAVE ONE CHANCE!!!!!
I hope this will help you if you do see him, and of course contact the owner's immediately - 2011-12-20 20:32 Julia
- Will walk Ashby Church tracks as soon as its light and take a spare lead - can I ask is he likely to come to a stranger if they use his name? just wondering howw confident he is etc just to gauge best way to get closer if any of us do come across him :o)

- You are doing brilliant, your posters are vital for sightings. Will it be possible for joseppea to maybe put some smelly food in their garden or where they think he came in, sardines are good..if he is in this area or travelling in a triangle like most lost dogs do, he will at some time come back this way, if he gets the food he will keep coming back. Good luck, hope your boy is home soon x

- Replied to your email, had another look a little while ago but didn't see him around 'the pit' or near the woods. Don't really have any other information, he didn't stick around in the garden long enough to catch him, though he was a fairly big dog like the one above and he ran through quite quickly - must've crawled under a fence or something?
Will keep an eye out, good luck! Last edited: 2011-12-20 16:11:29 by joseppea - 2011-12-20 14:51 norfolkbcs

- Hi,
A retriever ran through our garden about an hour ago in Blundeston (just off Market Lane near the pit/woods end) that looks pretty similar to the photo. Went out to look for it straightaway but couldn't see it anywhere. It might not be him, but we've never had a dog that's just off the lead come into our garden before so it might be worth having a look in Blundeston. (We did look around several fields and in the village though).
Good luck! - 2011-12-20 14:07 Shereen
- Good luck!x

If you speak to her I am going to park near Somerleyton train station and head along the tracks towards Flixton - I can't see Sandy Hill on the OS map either but I suspect that is the area. Should be there by 1.45
- 2011-12-20 13:26 Angus

Posters and flyers were handed out to everybody we meet and some people went off in cars to poster further a field.
We then heard the news that there had been a sighting of a very dirty, wet dog in Somerlyton on Saturday so everybody put thier efforts into that area.
All local farmers and the gamekeeper is aware so hopefully we will get some more calls very soon
