Hopefully, we will hear how Bourbon's getting on.
Unknown
One of my dogs has just had Giardia, which caused sickness and Diarrhoea. I had to collect stool samples and she has been on panacur and antibiotics.
Millys Mum
Yes, I agree, also wanted to thank mooz & Co who clearly went that extra mile (in more ways than one!) in the search for Bourbon. It does seem that this traumatised and nervous little girl needs a very watchful eye and a fail safe system both at home and on walks. And, without wishing to labour the point, IF it is Lungworm and not 'just' roundworm or tapeworm then Lungworm cannot be treated with Drontal or similar. As I say, it must be specific therapy. Wishing Bourbon a very happy and healthy New Year!
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
I am over the moon that sweet Bourbon is now safe. I too am very concerned about the worms, as Milly's Mum. Worst case scenario is the worst thing that could happen. As most of our dogs are regularly wormed these days, people do not realise just how serious this condition is, especially if vomitting has started. Maybe its not worms, but she's obviously very sick. Please Jenn, let us know how Bourbon is. So many people care about her. Thank you, God bless Bourbon. Keep safe and well precious in a loving, collie understanding, home. Well done everyone who helped in this search, especially Mooz! What a trooper! xxx
Neighbark
Thank goodness, poor insecure unwell little girl. You sound nice, caring and responsible Jenn, would you consider keeping her...that is if you think her 'new' owner isn't coping well enough, or responsibly enough. Had to be said...(I know it's being thought). Anyway, Happier New Year Bourbon, and Happy New Year to all at Doglost. x
digbysmum
What a relief! Welcome home lovely Bourbon, and please, do stay safe now xx
DogLostJackalee (Kathryn) - Area Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester
Well done everyone, so glad this little girl has been found - phew!!
Millys Mum
Thank goodness this sweet little girl has been found again. I'm worried about the 'worms' that have been mentioned just incase you're talking about Lungworm which is a VERY SERIOUS CONDITION. Our Dexter (NZ Huntaway) came to us aged 4 months from a farming background. Diagnosis is by way of a 3 stool sample (stool samples taken over 3 days). He was then treated with Milbemax & Panacur granules (2 quite separate treatments - not given together). Once a clear result is received (only possible via faeces samples) he was then treated with Advocate, which specifically targets lungworm. Symptoms can be (Dexter didn't have all symptoms): breathing problems or coughing/retching & tiring easily, poor blood clotting & anaemia, loss of appetite, vomiting & diarrhoea. Not wishing to alarm you but if left untreated (or not treated correctly) the outcome is serious.
NickyJ
Well done, glad this beautiful one is safe again!
AlisonH
So very pleased this poor scared dog has been caught and is now in safe hands.
zen
poor bourbon, one very lucky girl to be on the run twice, and thankfully be found again.... any rescue dogs needs special care when they are rehomed....especially the dear scared ones.... so glad you are safe now bourbon, i hope you will learn to trust and have a happy safe life
DebsAndGreg
Glad she is safe, hope all goes ok at the vets.
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Brilliant, brilliant news jenn. Please keep her very safe and do let us know how she gets on at the vets x
bertiejess
Glad she is with you safely :)
jenn
I got her!! She is safe and with me and will be seeing the vet very soon! Thank you everyone for all your help.
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Good news she has been seen Jenn, please remember she is very very scared and will not approach anybody.
Make sure you have very smelly food with you such as sausage or tripe and approach her very gently. Crouch low to the ground and do not give her eye contact. If you can, throw some food to her and then YOU back off, let her come to you....this may take some time and can only be done if Bourbon isn't running away from you.
PLEASE DO NOT CHASE HER OR TRY TO GRAB HER

Hopefully she will be safe very soon xxx
jenn
Bourbon has been spotted on base. My husband tried to get her but she ran. I'm going back out now to try to lure her in with food.
jenn
I have gone around base and have had no luck yet. Anyone see her please contact me so I can get her into a vet right away. I can be reached at 07500116083. Pray she is safe somewhere!
Neighbark
Jenn - did Elaine have this dog for a few days THEN go off on holiday leaving her with you?
Neighbark
HI JACKSON......not sure if you've seen Helen's request if you would mind leaving food out again in your garden? Poor doggie must be very poorly, very hungry and very disorientated. Am staggered about the not checking back gate, but it is what it is, so now it's damage limitation if she can be caught asap. Poor doggie.
shane2006
If Bourbon is still on the base and doglost poeple are not allowed in there how many people are actually looking for her inside?????
elaineschuett
This is Jenn, Elaine's friend. Still no word on Bourbon. Thank you everyone for all your help in looking for her. I do not know if she is on base or off. I have not seen her anywhere, will be out to look again soon on base.
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
At the moment we haven't had any sightings of Bourbon so we are unsure if she is still in the base.

Thank you mooz for searching the area late at night....this is probably the time she will be moving around....when it's very quiet x
shane2006
Does anyone actually know if she is inside base? Well done mooz for looking for Bourbon.
mooz
ITS 12;56 Just got back from searching off base housing and around our village no sign of bourbon =[
aoski
I hope she is found she looks almost exactly the same as my border collie. I will keep my eyes open for her
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
If this girl does have worms and is vomitting, it is very serious. The worms would have been in her for too long now. Please everyone keep postering and looking for this girl. She will be constantly, very hungry with worms so food is the answer. She needs immediate veterinery treatment when caught. Come on baby, please let us catch you. Helpers I can see you are brilliant, so much love out there for precious Bourbon. Good luck. xxx
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Most of the helpers are back from searching and sadly there has been no sightings of Bourbon, there is a possibility that she is hiding out somewhere as she is one very scared little lady.
Keep safe until you are found xxx
Shereen
Oh,comon Bourbon please go back to Jackson92 : (

Message from muns.....
I have spoken to the animal welfare officer on Lakenheath who is actively looking for Bourbon and has notified all vets in the area. It was definitely a staffy that she picked up last night and Bourbon's owner has been informed of that. The AWO confirms the whole area is fenced and hopefully Boubon is confines but there is a slight possibility she could creep past the guards at night. She will let us know any news she has immediately. Hope this helps clear up some of the questions
Aquarius have confirmed to the officer that Bourbon was booked in
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge

Please Bourbon show yourself gorgeous girl so that you can be back home in the warm. You have nothing to fear. Please stay safe xx
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Sadly Bourbon is missing again, the dog that was picked up last night was a Staffie type and NOT Bourbon.

Jackson92 I know it's a big ask of you but are you able to leave food out for her incase she returns to your garden. At the moment we have had no sightings of her so may return to your area x
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
I have spoken to the owner and she is away at the moment, her friend was looking after Bourbon. The owner has given me her friend's number but her phone is switched off. Until I can contact the friend we don't know what is going on.
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Bourbon is still missing as far as we are aware, owners are trying to find out which kennels Bourbon was taken to if any??
Will switch her back to lost until I can find out what is going on.
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
mooz,as far as I'm aware Bourbon is in kennels as she was picked up last night and the owner couldn't be contacted.
mooz
please can these owners take extra 100% care of her... she needs the vet asap it might not be worms it could be very serious.. if you find her too much and cannot then please tell us on here as a few people i know would gladly give her a fabulous forever home... she must be very traumatised she has been through so much... no one will think bad of you if you want to rehome her xx btw why is she in kennels?

sadly Bourbon has gone missing again

copied over from new registration

She is very sick with worms and my friend was going to take her to the vet and let her outside in the fenced yard not knowing that the gate was open and Bourbon ran out the gate. She has diarrhea and vomiting. She is only wearing a blue collar. She is very scared and won't come to anyone.

Oh, possible Mooz. Collies have been know to survice months in the wild. Well done. Excellent that there is a new sighting. As Helen said, Come on Bourbon! Home sweetie pie. x
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Thank you mooz for updating with the latest sightings, the owner has been contacted x
Come on Bourbon it's time you were home x
mooz
seen tonight up roebuck drive lakenheath... i had a look but no avail... elusive lil girl x
mooz
went to the local shop as i do every night, and they have just put a poster up of Bourbon.. and the lady said they have already had a recent sighting by a local farmer near his cows..well I get my hay from him and my horses are on 9 acres of riverbank not a couple of fields away from his cows...(i'll try and scan this area ) Also i will mention while I was near the auction barns there was a pile of white feathers everywhere and the remains of a large pigeon.. it was a fresh kill... i wonder if bourbon is making the barns her base as there is lots of shelter open barns warm stables river etc and hunting in the day?? poor girl lets hope she is found soon xx
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Thank you mooz for going out to search the area, sounds to me there needs to more posters up in the area so the calls start coming in of sightings of her.
Thank you Kimmybear for your sound advice and support xxx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Thanks Mooz - interesting about the other colie - could be another lost one as they do go wild in order to survive. Maybe we need to check for missing collies around there. We obviously need more posters up - owners keep going - you can do this and find your baby! x
mooz
went looking for her around Eriswell auction Barns.. bumped into a man that works on the fields there.. strangely he said he had a phone call off his friend that lives very close to the barns 3 weeks ago telling him he has spotted a black and white collie... but he couldn't get anywhere near it as it seemed feral... but that was 3 wks ago odd?? I couldnt get to the actual barns as its all closed for Christmas just hope she hasnt been locked up in a barn as they don't open til 5th jan.. by the way i haven't seen any posters up anywhere... and i live near the barns =[ i will try and find time to get some sorted.. but i have so many of my own anima;ls but I'll try xx
DogLostRiverlady
Do we have placenames?.....at the moment we are tweeting RAFLakenheath....where is that? Where was last sighting?
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Owners, deep breath, you can find her. You have great people working with you in your area on DogLost. Just keep those posters going up everywhere. All around where she went missing and where this suspected sighting was and then further out in all directions. Contact the papers, local radio etc. If they don't help just keep going till someone does. Put the osters in your car windows and all your friends. I know you've been told all of this, but just to reiterate. Collies are extremely clever at surviving out there if she is on the lose. If she has been taken, we make her too hot to handle. You really CAN do this! Let's get sweet Bourbon home! x
mooz
i'm in lakenheath... been posting this link on facebook.. i will look for her on horseback tomorrow... she must be so scared bless her xx

Just had a sighting phoned into HQ of a border collie in Lakenheath.
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Have you put posters up in the area where this Border Collie was tied up?, I would also put flyers in all letterboxes in the area this dog was seen
elaineschuett
Helen, I called all the area rescues in Cambridge where she was supposed to have been dropped off. I haven't had any luck, what more can we do? I'm going stir crazy!!
elaineschuett
There's a grave possibility this was indeed Bourbon, however he took her with him. There was mention that he was going to take her to a rescue center so I'm calling all of them in my area like mad hoping to find her. I'm going to put fresh poster around the area he found her, let's hope we're lucky enough for an early Christmas miracle!!
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Hoping and praying this is Bourbon, please keep us updated xxx
elaineschuett
A HUGE thank you to everyone who has helped and passed along Bourbon's information. I just received a call from a perfect stranger who heard from a friend that our baby may be tied to a tree just one town over from us. My husband is driving out now to see if she's still there. For those of you in the area, she was tied just outside the Auction Barn in Lakenheath village. Please let us know if you see her elsewhere!!
Thank you so much!
DogLostRiverlady
Have put Bourbon on twitter + will circulate.
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
I have spoken to the owner and Bourbon was spooked in the house when the doorbell went off. She is a very nervous collie who hasn't been her new home for long so would not know the area. The owner has contacted the dog warden and local vets.
I will E-mail general information including contact numbers for vets in the area. I have added Bourbon's details to our Dog Lost Norfolk and Suffolk facebook group.
Stay safe Bourbon until you are found xxx
DogLostHelen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
Will contact owner.
