- Just wondered if OTTO is still missing as no postings on his page since 2012.......
- 2012-01-03 22:25 Helenmathias
- Hello,
Yeah that would be great thank you, much appreciated, as many places as you think best. We have one in the Hoghton Post office and the Hoghton garage window.
Thank you very much x - 2012-01-02 19:15 LCJR
- Hi, I wonder of we should poster/leaflet through Riley Green? I can do that as my mum lives there. When I walk this route I always come up from the viaduct to either Riley Green near the pub or continue to Pleasington. I can try to pop one in the post office at Hoghton as well if I am passing tomorrow.
Let me know if you think there is anything else I can do. Happy to help.

- Hello, yep we have posted the leaflets through all our neighbours doors (viaduct road and chapel lane) that includes the farm down the road and I think we took one to the farm by the royal oak because past the waterfall can lead up there! Dad normally takes them out in the early hours every morning just because he knows he won't meet any other dogs at that time so he can let ours of the leads! Otto is quite a quiet little dog, likes to keep himself to himself and can be nervous around strangers, but I doubt having your dogs would scare him off! When we go looking for him I always take our other three Bostons in hope that they will sniff him out but they are hopeless!! Thanks again for your help :) x

- Hi they often do shoot on NY day. I'm also wondering whether we could get word out to the farmers - perhaps just pop some posters through their doors?
Perhaps also worth looking at the time his regular walk was? All suggestions- which you might have already done. We'll keep looking.
Do you think walking with my dogs will encourage him or scare him off?
X

- Thank you so much Nicola! It means alot! Not heard or found anything, been looking everyday since it happened and down the river! Got to keep thinking if we haven't found his body then there is always hope that we will find him!
Yes we informed the game keepers! They go shooting in the area and down by the river, don't know when there next shoot is, maybe tomorrow?

- Hi, I have been around and about the area a few times. No sightings. Have informed other dog walkers, particularly local/regular walkers in the area. Sorry I have no further info.
- 2011-12-28 22:30 LCJR
- Oh sorry, just seen that the gamekeeper has been informed.
- 2011-12-28 22:22 LCJR
- Thanks Jan. Have also emailed you. I'll run some off tonight and take them with me on extra long walkies in that area tomorrow.
The Citizen newspaper goes out free to all Blackburn residents. Although this is a PR postcode its literally on the border and lots of Blackburn residents walk this route. Lancashire Evening Telegraph may also offer some space for an article.
My parents live in this village, I'll ask them what the Preston free paper equivalent is.
The place where Otto went missing is on the Hoghton Estate. The Hoghton estate groundsmen have access to areas we couldn't go on foot as it isn't public, but easily accessible to a dog. Perhaps the groundsmen would be a good link?

- Thanks a million Nicola. I'll email you the various size posters and ask owners for an update. x

- Hi, I walk here veryday, will keep my eyes peeled.
Posters are very visible already. This walk easily links to the Witton Park area, so perhaps worth postering there and in Pleasington (apologies if this has already been done). Happy to help poster further- I live very local and know the areas/walks and surrounding villages well. Nicola - 2011-12-24 11:54 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- Thanks Riverlady. :)

- Spoken to owner who was on the way out to do postering door to door which is great. Given some immediate advice but will also email more in depth info/advice and catch up with owner a.s.a.p. Chip Co have not been contacted yet but will shortly and his details will be registered with the AW's.
Not everyone knows what a Boston Terrier is and he maybe described as another breed or crossbreed, have discussed this with his owner. I'll do various size posters and start spreading the word. Keeping everything crossed he is back home soon. x - 2011-12-22 20:13 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West

- Sorry to see that OTTO is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (35555)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
