Niko has been found, yay! thanks for all the advice. He has an injured paw and a scratch on his eyelid. looks like he's been living rough for a week. Customer at a petrol station spotted him, chased and caught him and took to RSPCA. We dont have his details but thank you! We are so happy , glad that your site exists for all the help, advice and support and knowing we were doing everything we could. Also reassuring that there are others that are willing to help. Thanks to anyone who put up posters.

A slightly later sighting on same day, slightly more towards Eccles town centre. It was at 5pm on Fairless Road off Barton lane . Running , sniffing and looking panicky . Person who saw him was not able to get near him. We will put up more posters in this area.

Thanks for emailing the scenting instructions Jan :) KB the sightings sound promising. Make sure you check out the scenting instructions Jan has sent you, as she says he may not recognise you and as he is bewildered he will be avoiding anything he sees as a threat, including all humans. Try and plot the sightings on a map and see if he is staying in the same area and then put up lots of posters there to bring more sightings in. If you need any more help, please don't hesitate to contact myself or Jan. Keeping my fingers crossed for you :)

Kate, thanks for the update, keeping everything crossed for you. Not sure if Jackalee has emailed you Scenting Instructions but I will just in case, it also covers how to behave if you do see him as he may well not recognise you at first. I'll also give you advice in the email on what to do.

Really sorry Niko is still missing, fingers crossed someone has picked him up and he is safe and warm somewhere. Leigh Cats and dogs home is back open tomorrow morning.

Two more sightings, same time and area (Barton, Eccles) as last -
Between 3.30 and 4 pm on 23rd December,
1. seen running down Barton Road, M28
2. Seen running down Cawdor Street, M30

both times was described as looking terrified/disorientated and just running
please put up posters if you can in area and wider area as he may have run a long distance by now and we are not able to cover all the areas ourselves. Any help would be appreciated as dog wardens are off till Wednesday, and dog homes not contactable. Been missing 4 days now .

Ive just seen there was a sighting. Copied from Dogs in Salford FB page.....

Had a sighting, he was heading towards the grape pub on Liverpool road, eccles near Alexandra road yesterday! Drove around and asked about but still no luck...

Spoke to owner earlier and they have notified all the relevant people and are putting up posters. M30 is covered by the Salford Dog Warden who take their found dogs to Leigh but have mentioned to visit Manchester Dogs Home as well just in case he wanders into the Manchester area.

Advise email sent. Hope Niko is home soon :)
