- Watson facebook page has just been updated: NEWS OF WATTIE BY HOMEBASE 10 MINUTES AGO! by pc world, currys etc..
- 2012-01-07 15:21 Carole
- Have just walked round Hamilton golf course which is at the other side of the service station. Tried to look in the nature reserve too. Saw deer but sadly no sign of Watson.
- 2012-01-06 21:54 lozzibear
- Do you think there is any chance he could have found his way up to Baron's Haugh/Dalziel Estate? There is a woodland path that leads from the Strathclyde Park up to Baron's Haugh, and it isn't far from the area where he went missing.
- 2012-01-06 20:56 astro2011
- I will be at Strathclyde park tomorrow. I'll be with the puppy so can't go to far. If I have time ill go out myself later in the day to look.
- 2012-01-05 17:02 Vonnie
- Yvonne G here. I went a drive into Bothwell 4ish to see if he could have went that way. I don't think so. Came back drove into Strathy at the woods then into the services where he bolted. Hopefully the deer lead him back the way to strathy as it has so much land back there. I am sending pawsitive thoughts that Watson is found/shows himself very soon. The amount of people out looking for him has been terrific.

- @the beard, Julie, Simon and the girls said he ran into the area where the big pond is heard him bark for a minute or so then nothing:(. This area has been searched on numerous occassions as have the surrounding areas, my husband and my self are just back we must have just missed you we got there around 11 we have put up more posters round the pathways but as you were saying the area is heavily flooded. He could be virtually anywhere at this stage, a sighting would be amazing as then we would know where to go from here, I have also visited Bothwell Cat and dog home again, becoming a regular :) no news there. Jill- If you would like to contact me re - searched areas ect 07850016135Last edited: 2012-01-05 14:22:32 by Kaydee

- When Watson ran off can you tell me what direction he took to give me a better idea of an area he might be lying low in?
- 2012-01-05 09:07 thebeard
- Going back down to search initial lost area again with my son and Spike (Border Terrier) about 1030 today to see if there are any tracks in the wooded area next to the Mausoleum.
Update;- Spent about an hour in the areas South of the service station and West of the golf range and also in the heavily wooded area around the Mausoleum. Both these areas are heavily flooded and I allowed Spike to have a free run about to see if he would encourage Watson to show himself. The underpass was flooded and we could'nt get through to the other side of the motorway to check there. Sorry but no news for you. - Thanks Sable I agree, Today Carol has visited the area and again spoke to some dog walkers, If anyone Admin perhaps could get in touch with dog-man-kev It would be really good if we could speak to him regarding this as he states he has experience and he could maybe give us some advice, I have spoke to Julie tonight and Simon has been interviewed by the Hamilton advertisor so Watsons Story will be featured in this weeks Hamilton advertisor Julie and Simon have all my details and I have advised then I am happy to be contacted re any possible sightings or any information that needs followed up as I am in Wishaw.
- 2012-01-03 08:24 Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
- Sometimes there are no sightings for around 3-4 days and then there are more. Depends on different things, like if they have moved to another corner of their territory or weather conditions etc.
- 2012-01-02 15:24 Vonnie
- No sightings :( Walked round the Hamilton side, put flyers up around the entrances/exits, MCDs, KFC, Pizza Hut. Went up past the tunnel and the Mosoleum (sp?) then into the woods behind there and the Service Station. Met another friend as I was coming out of the woods, he was heading in and going around also. Kaydee is also out. We are doing all we can, hopefully he will be sighted soon. Come out from hiding Watson we're all trying to help you!

- Running off some more posters just now and will put them up this afternoon. Will also put a few in town centre. Also asked dog training club to post on their website. Every pair of eyes looking surely increases Watson chances of being reunited with his family!

- 2012-01-01 16:41 carol
- carol here, spent afternoon looking until dark fell..no sightings however met lots of folk looking and also met the lady who sighted yesterday...(Elaine) this sounds like a positive sighting which is brillaint as Watson is then staying in the area he got lost and is likely to be going between the retail park for food and the service station/marsh area....i'm not an expert but i hope i am right. this is such a busy area so posters and awareness is so crutial..good luck to the evening watch folk :))
Also lets not forget to check police and Bothwell rescue centre daily and also there is every chance Watson is going into Strathclyde park through the walkway - however hope this is his triangle and he remains in area he was spotted in yesterday.Last edited: 2012-01-01 16:45:55 by carol - 2012-01-01 14:17 Kaydee

- Don't want to get your hopes up, but just been for a walk around the Mausaleum in Hamilton with my wee BT, and I saw a small dog at the diagonally oposite end of the football field. I called and whistled and Frisa barked, but it ran off towards the underpass that leads through to Strathclyde Park. By the time we crossed the muck there was no sign of the dog and there was definately no people about. I didn't see it go through the underpass so it could have headed through the wooded area which would lead to the Service Station that Watson ran off from. I'll walk Frisa that way again over the next few days to see if we can see this wee dog again.

- Hopefully he will be found soon and thankfully as he is chipped, he can be re-united with you asap.

- Watson is my families dog and it was my moment of carelessness that resulted in his bolting off after a deer that he had seen. I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and support of the doggie people in the Hamilton area who have been and continue to help us try to find him. One feels so helpless but my daughters have also done so much to help. He has a very strong hunting instinct and he is a very clever dog and I hope and pray that he will be found in or close to the Strathclyde Park where he was sighted last Tuesday. We live far from the area but my daughter Pippa is a student in Edinburgh so when you do find him she can come and collect him. Thank you to all of you who are helping.

- Have spoken with Watson's owner and added Watson to the LostDogs-Scotland.org.uk website.
- 2011-12-26 12:47 Sable - Regional Co-ordinator - Scotland
- Have changed the breed to Border terrier. ( you have to search terriers and then choose the type on this site). I have also re-instated the commented you removed in error.
- 2011-12-26 12:02 Pippa
- Sorry dog/kev/man accidentally clicked 'report this comment' instead of reply as I'm on my phone it's a bit tricky. But Watson is indeed a full breed border terrier the option buttons only allowed cross! We scoured the area which included a wetland marshes which we think he would avoid, a golf course which likely has many holes and a park with small woods. Thank you very much for your comment it does seem you know alOt about this as it's the first time he has gone missing and this is very far from home for us we are very scared. We have put up lots of lost dog signs hoping people will be out and about on boxing day and will find him and see this! If you do happen to be in the area please do keep and eye out and call 'Wattie' or 'Watson' as this will hopefully lure him out of holes. Thanks and merry christmas

- Is Watson a cross? Looks pure BT almost.Hope he's found safe soon.
- 2011-12-26 01:19 dog/man/kev
- I live in motherwell, i have experience of finding lost terriers. That area is riddled with foxes and badgers. The dog has more than likely gon down a sett/earth. It is in their blood and 99% of terriers like the border/jrt/patterdale etc will act on that instinct. They arent forced to ground like activists would have you believe but go to ground because that's what they know. If you want i could visit the are and look for earths. i can then assess if your dog could be in one of the many earths in the area. Dogs have been known to survive weeks to ground. trust me if this boy is to ground he will be alive.

- Sorry to see that WATSON SIGHTED is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (35614)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
