Thank you everyone. Patch is trotting around like nothing happened...funny now. He seems more confident than before...lol...I think he nnow thinks he's the bear grylls of the dog world! My other half first saw him and called, he came running straight away without hesitation with his tail wagging like mad. He jumped up on me and gave me kisses, which he only does if he is super duper excited. Lovely pup. The first people who phoned have a chalet on the beach and they brought out some turkey and ham for him, his delayed xmas dinner. :-)

Just for your info, I put Patch on another website same day as here and they only contacted me last night. You guys are top dog and I am spreading the word about the site as much as I can. x

Hi everyone, Patch has been found and is home safe. Thank you for all the support you have given it has been amazing. He was found where we lost him, oddly we walked there this morning. He seems healthy just a bit skinny.

Tried to post a reunited pic on here but it didn't change. Any tips.

I will donate some money to you guys for the fantastic job you do and will definately help where I can to help others with their missing pets. Helping keep someones spirits up is just as important as finding the pup. Thank you sooooo much. xxxxxxx

Spoke to the local newspaper this morning and they are definately going to print the article on Patch. It's a weekly paper so plenty of time for people to buy it and see Patch. It comes out on Friday.

Amberpaws - Have tried local rescues, but most only operating again tomorrow....maybe. I have emailed Patchs poster to them all in the meantime. Didn't Clacton though so thanks. Numbers would be brilliant thanks i can't have enough of them at the moment. There may be some I don't have.

Have you tried Mistley Place Park, Clacton Animal Aid & all local vets? It is too late tonight to get a response from them but if you need some local numbers tomorrow I have a list as I used to live in CO16. Hopefully you'll have some good news in the morning.

Owner, Jotty can assist you by phone. From what you have said, is it possible that someone picked Patch up at the time he went missing? Or, did he simply get lost and that was him sighted in the field? Can he get to the field from the beach? Dogs usually get back to the place they were lost if they can. Even if it was Patch picked up, you still need to keep posting so they know who to call. Keep checking those fields, as right now we don't know, so best to keep going. Let's hope Patch has been picked up safely - if so, as dog wardens don't work till 2nd Jan, maybe Jotty can find out where the holding kennels are? Or the person could keep him till dog wardens back at work. Cars - if you're worried he could get hit by a car, the emergency council line would receive a call to collect any animals seen on the roads, they should be able to tell you if one has been collected. If not, someone would take him to a vet and they should call you, or you keep calling them. So, if not he should still be safe out there or somewhere.You are doing really good - you can get sweet Patch home. Hang in there. x

A man in a 4x4 was seen picking up a Jack Russell that seemed lost at Horsley Cross last night. Have contacted local police...but closed until tomorrow....Dog Warden....but closed and there is no info about where to go next. Please please please be Patch!!!!

Okay thanks. We search the possible triangle you've suggested 3 times a day, walking and car. At night we walk our other dog to the last seen place and back to try leave more scent home. To give you a guide, where he was last sighted was 2 feilds away from where we walk him most days...so it's that little missing link we're trying to fill in for him.

We were walking on Wrabness beach and he ran off...he doesn't usually and it was within a minute of last seeing him follow us. Usually Daisy is the one to spot interesting things and go after them, but she is very much a humans dog and stays in sight.Patch will go out of sight but not far and comes back. We spent 3 hours around the spot calling him and even checked rabbit holes, bushes etc. It was odd because a few people were reasonably close in different directions but no one saw him.
I've emailed posters to the dog wardens and kennels, will get on the phone again from today.
I have hope, just worry about cars.

One other ting to remember, if someone has caught Patch, most dog wardens do not work again until 2nd Jan. This means he cannot be handed in. Some areas have an out of hours serve, so have you checked your dog warden? Some have holding kennels where lost dogs can be taken to. Otherwise finder can look after him. But, you cannot wait - as you never know where he is. If someone has him they should see your posters. If you have rivers or railways there, you need to check them out just to rule out, but dogs survive very well in the wild. Little hardy ones like JR's should be just be just fine. You are doing really well.

Do whatever you feel is right. Can you drive and they get out and walk round the secluded bits? Try leaving some food in that area, not in the open too much, in a safe place and see if it goes but remember foxes will eat it too. But if Patch is around it may help to keep him there. Leave something that smells of you, or do the scenting like in my e-mail just around there, to keep him there if it is him. If he is on a triangle, he may be someone where else now and come back later, maybe hours or days. The first point of the triangle is where he went from, then maybe Mistley is the 2nd point, so guess the 3rd point/area and search & poster there. Could be a big triangle, could be small. Or he could stay in one area doing a tiny triangle. Exactly how did Patch go missing please? It may help to figure it out. Even though it may seem hopeless, it isn't, okay? Just check out the reunited pages to see that you CAN get your baby back. You needs hundreds of posters - make Patch so famous! Keep going, you CAN do it! x

Is it better to drive or walk to look for Patch at night. We can drive further tahn walking but can't get to some of the secluded spots as well....what's best...not sure anymore, trying to do both.

Bumped due to sighting. Quite common for dogs to behave out of character when lost, so don't worry. Those posters need to be fairly close together to make an impact, keep going with them. Notify local radio, see if they will help? Play on the fact that its Christmas as it might warm their hearts. You may get more sightings tomorrow when people come back out. Do everything you can to make Patch so famous, everyone will watch for him. Come on Patch, where are you sweetie. Leave something that smells of you in the place he went missing - dogs usually come back there if they can. They will also do a triangle so start plotting any sightings you get. Look for a food source or smelly takeway places, a water source - pond, stream etc. Remember Patch may be scared at first if you see him, not realising it's you, as he has to live wild if he's out there. They are very resilient so don't worry just yet. You CAN do this, keep going. x

Hi guys, thanks so much for your quick response. We have already put loads of posters up as far as 10 miles away and gotten communities talking lots about him especially the dog friendly pubs spreading the word. We have had a phone call tonight about 1600. A man thinks he saw patch and tried to approach him but when he did patch growled and walked away...I guess he is scared which doesn't surprise me. We were only told half hour later but went out with our other dog daisy and called and walk the way home....try anything right. He was sighted in Mistley Heath.

Have emailed Patch's owner the usual information and included the Cambridgeshire ones too as he could easily have crossed in to Cambridgeshire. Have also sent posters and flyers. Stay safe gorgeous lad! xx
