- Thank you for all the help and kind thoughts we received whilst trying to find Bayer. We are very lucky that someone found her for us and so allowing us to be able to bring her home to Staffordshire where she belongs. She will be buried in a special place where we can always go to remember her. Thanks again to everyone for all you've done to help and we sincerely hope that all of the lost and frightened little doggies out there are reunited with their owners too. xxxxxxxxx

When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not there to see;
The sun will rise and find your eyes, all filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry, the way you did today,
Remembering how I'd lay my head, In your lap that special way.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you.
And each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name, and petted me with her hand.
She said my place was ready in Heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
But, as I turned to heel away, a tear fell from my eye,
For all my life I never thought, that I would have to die.
I had so much to live for, so many sits and downs to do,
It seemed almost impossible, that I was leaving you.
I thought about our lives together, I know you must be sad,
I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had.
Remember how I'd nudge your hand, and poke you with my nose?
The frisbee I would gladly chase, the bad guy, I'd "bark and hold".
If I could relive yesterday, just even for awhile,
I'd wag my tail and kiss you, just so I could see you smile.
But then I fully realized, that this could never be;
For emptiness and memories, will take the place of me.
And when I thought of treats and toys, I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you and when I did, my dog-heart filled with sorrow.
But then I walked through Heaven's gate, and felt so much at home;
As God looked down and smiled at me, from His beautiful golden throne.
He said, "This is eternity, And now we welcome you,
Today your life on earth is past, But here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last;
For you see, each day’s the same day, there's no longing for the past.
Now you have been so faithful, so trusting, loyal and true;
Though there were times you did things, you knew you shouldn't do.
But good dogs are forgiven, and now at last you're free;
So won't you sit here by my side, and wait right here with me?"
So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart.
For every time you think of me, I'm right there, in your heart

- Just spoke to cousin, she is already aware of Bayer's plight, one of her customers rides in the country park daily and is keeping a look out. She mentioned a travellers sight off the A10 that may be worth investigating, assume DW/police know where this is?
- 2012-01-02 17:23 lesleyjane
- My cousin owns the Wagon and Horses pub in Milton High St, she is an animal lover so I will call her and ask her to put up posters and tell all her customers to look out for Bayer.Good luck.

Also now posted to cam.announce and cam.misc which are Cambridge news
groups.
It occurs to me that you could try to get an article into Cambridge
News, the local daily paper for the Cambridge area. It's a quiet time
for them news wise and they like human interest stories. You've got a
hook to hang the story on (coming a long way to meet Bayer's previous
owners) and you've got photos they can use, which they'll like to have.
Give them a ring or send them an email, or both. They can only say no.
See http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk - their offices are right next to
Milton Country Park as it happens!

- hi i found a milton village website i sent them an email so it should be in the milton local paper... i have just noticed bayer on their page now and hopefully in there local paper soon http://www.milton.org.uk/news/opus2167.html ....
We can only publish your news if you tell us about it.
News posted here now reaches around 24% of homes in Milton via the Milton News mailing list, Twitter, and Facebook. More importantly it's read by people who want to read it unlike Cambridge Weekly News or Milton Village View which may drop through every letterbox but in many households remains unread. So it is well worth getting us to publish your news. We can also publish news very quickly, unlike the print media.
You can send us your news by email to news@milton.org.uk and if you have a photo to go with the news then so much the better. If you prefer to use the Web you can use this form:

- What a terrible nightmare you are all going through, I pray that your lovely Bayer will be found asap. We have put her on our Bullie forum www.bullterrierforum.co.uk and of course I will look out for her arriving at our rescue (we take all the dogs from the West Norfolk council holding kennels). I know she is microchipped, but please ring the local dog wardens every day if you can as chips can be missed.
I was heavily involved in Bull Terrier rescue and have had 5 of my own so I know exactly how you feel about her.
Keeping everything crossed for some good news very, very soon.

- Bayer is such a special girl who didn't exactly have the best start in life. However, she was eventually adopted from an amazing couple who due to no fault of their own, had to let her go. At that time, she was living very close to Ipswich and we drove 200 miles to see her. We fell in love with her immediately and brought her home to Staffordshire where she has been for the last 3 months.
We reg...ularly keep in touch with her previous owners, and have become good friends with them. We decided that it would be really nice to meet up at Christmas with all the dogs and go for a walk, as they were desperate to see Bayer again. We agreed to meet roughly half way and plumped for Milton Country Park near Cambridge. (CB24 postcode area)
We arrived at midday on Thursday 29th December where her previous owners were eagerly waiting for us. Bayer was in the boot of the car and looked very excited. Little did I know that she was about to change our lives forever. I opened the boot thinking that she would jump out and enjoy all the fuss she was about to get, whilst giving me time to clip the lead to her collar.
How wrong could I be? She leapt out of the boot and started to run like I have never seen her run before. We started to run after her, screaming at her to come back but she was so fast - we had no chance of catching her. We then spent the next 3 hours scouring the local area for her, but to no avail.
Someone told my Husband that they had seen her leave the park and run along a road towards Tesco supermarket which is close by. We searched nearby streets but found nothing. With the help of our friends, all organisations (Police, Dog Warden, Vets, you name it.....) were called immediately.
At 3pm we had to make the heartbreaking decision to leave, as we had to drive 120 miles back to collect my 6 year old son - who knew nothing about the incident.
Since then, we have tirelessly tried every avenue to get some information. As yet, we have not received a single call.
We are not in the fortunate position of being able to scour the streets of Cambridge to look for Bayer - it is just too far away. This is making it increasingly frustrating and upsetting for us. Hence the reason for this page.....
Please help us. xxxxx - 2011-12-31 18:44 susie
