- Update by the police yesterday - so still unclear if they are actually home or indeed if the event was even real in the first place ?? http://www.northants.police.uk/default.aspx?id=8998&datewant=yes

- Thank goodness they are home and well and thats really all that matters.
- 2012-01-09 20:14 Unknown
- Well a strange ending but as long as the dogs are safe I am happy.
- 2012-01-09 12:57 Unknown
- Fan tastic news. So pleased for the dogs and their owners.
- 2012-01-09 11:31 dewilliams42
- WELL THAT IS GOOD NEWS. WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE KNOWN THEIR STORY BUT WE MUST RESPECT THE OWNERS WISHES. MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT THE DOGS ARE SAFE AND WELL.
- 2012-01-09 11:15 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Chris from Alfies rang this morning and has stated the both dogs are safe and well and back with real owner...who does not want this to go any further.
So thaks everyone and the search can be called off. - 2012-01-08 22:43 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Oh ps Thanks Angus ...I did not get a reply from them...tx for filling us in...
- 2012-01-08 22:42 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- I agree...so many questions unanswered...thats why this thread will remain open.
- 2012-01-08 21:56 POLLYWARD
- Its all very strange, no one has anything to gain for calling this in as a hoax, why would the owners have a problem with people looking for their dogs (if the dogs were stolen) and how were the dogs located without the search party knowing about it? There's so many questions unanswered, especially whether it actually happened and if the dogs are safe....
- 2012-01-08 20:18 Angus
- Alfies had the same information as we did from the inital email ( I asked them to remove the details of the description of the van the case the vehicle had been stolen & it could have had a detrimental effect on a business - they removed this information immediately hence the edit to the first post )

- If Alfies have direct contact with witness that could be helpful...but as yet no one seems to know who they are and indeed alfies may be cross posting what we were given...please ask Justine or Chris to call me if they have more news...tx...actually...best I call direct...but they are usually busy ..so if you dont see an update please post on there on our behalf.

- This is very strange methinks. According to Alfie`s site someone witnessed them being thrown out of the back of a van with legs tied together and covered in blood. Are CCTV cameras being checked for any clues? Just a thought;

- mumphie - I have edited a little bit from your post for safety reasons

- Thanks for the update and for looking into this. This is a very strange situation, I am glad so many of us alerted you to this so it could be looked in to. I just hope the dogs are ok. Still strange the search was called off and being told they were believed to be back with the owners, clearly they are not and of course the threatning phone call. your help has been much appreciated

- THANKS FOR THE UPDATE JAYNE. IT CERTAINLY IS A VERY ODD SITUATION. IF THE DOGS HAD BEEN GENUINELY LOST OWNERS ARE USUALLY ONLY TOO PLEASED TO HAVE SUPPORT. MAYBE IT IS BEING KEPT LOW KEY FOR A REASON AND HOPEFULLY NEWS WILL COME THROUGH TO PUT PEOPLES MINDS AT REST.
- 2012-01-08 10:47 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Thank you to those who have emailed...there has been no confirmation that the dogs have been found. Also the threats were saying the dogs were valuable to them...but if that is the case why throw them out of the back of a van? whether this is a hoax that has got out of hand or the fact they do exist is not for me to speculate on...so the page will remain open.
- 2012-01-08 06:31 Unknown
- If the person who saw these dogs being thrown out of the van was 2 cars back , then what became of the person driving in front of her? They were in a better position to see what had happened and should be contacting the police......I am very confused at all of this as most who find dogs are so relieved they , at least, confirm to all who have taken time to search for them. The FB page got nasty , which is another reason I am annoyed, why cant people just realise all are out to help and nothing more.I really do hope, that the dogs, if missing in the first place,(which is another thing to think about)are safe.A very odd scenario all around.
- 2012-01-08 00:58 BBKM
- This has got me very worried about the dogs and all the people who tried to find them. I do hope no one has been threatened or hurt. If it is true about the condition of the dogs when and if they were thrown out of a van, it speaks volumes of what type of people these are. Hope everyone is safe xx
- 2012-01-08 00:40 Myhal
- Thanks Jane, for phone call. I initially posted info when these dogs went missing, in addition to searching for them. I left FB group for many of the reasons listed by others in previous posts on here . I have no more info to report or news about any police involvement regarding these poor dogs. I hope they have been found and returned to owners who really care about them.

- Thankyou for keeping this subject open as many of us are still very worried as to the outcome of these babes....we were told the fb page closed as it was a police inquiry now...but it would be fantastic to know the truth !
- 2012-01-07 22:22 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Because of the info posted earlier I have removed contact details from the person who put the report on.

- Its getting even more weird Love fur pets...The info we are getting to Doglost HQ is worryingly people have been threatened...we dont know who by..at this stage...if you have been ...or others do ring doglost on 0844 800 3220 or email us in confidence...your names will never be mentioned...but there is something going on here...and we want to get to the bottom of it...probably best to use my email jayne.doglost@gmail.com please put subject 2 missing greyhounds....and we will get back to you asap
- 2012-01-07 22:09 Animal Magic Chelt
- As I understand it, but could be wrong, the dogs are thought to be back with their owner but ther is no proof of this.
-x- - 2012-01-07 21:29 Love Fur Pets
- Kettering borough council made a statement on 4th Jan. asking for information from anyone who might know about these dogs, so I assume they think they are still missing? This has gotten so weird!
- 2012-01-07 21:09 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Polly I did initially because of an earlier post...then on having another post switched them back to lost...then having another post...switched them back to blue...so will wait for more info to filter through....Facebook is a great way to communicate but we dont have the time to monitor...If posts are made to Doglost they come up on our admin pages so we can update accordingly....have spoken to the kind lady who registered the dogs with us....she also thinks the dogs are safe...but will be emailing all her contacts so we can get the facts...these dogs have gone viral on the internet, but its time to establish the facts...so as such the dogs will remain in reunited...and we will update as soon as we hear anything..tx

- 2012-01-07 20:07 Moogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall
- All this is hearsay and are going on what has been put on Facebook. Could someone on doglost call police, local authorities and the RSPCA to get an accurate update. I'm too far away but people still need to be looking out for these two dogs just in case. Hoping they're safe.

*****IMPORTANT UPDATE*******
We have strong belief that the Greyhounds have been or are being reunited with their owner.
All relevent details are being passed to the local authorities, who are dealing with this incident. - 2012-01-07 19:23 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- I agree with Jayne - I hope these dogs have been reunited with their REAL owners and not given to the people who chucked them out of the van or to the travellers site. The group on FB, sadly whilst trying to help these poor dogs, did have a lot of bickering which upset a number of people, however everyone had the interests of these dogs at heart, so I sincerely hope whoever cauight these dogs did not fall for a story given by certain individuals in order to get these dogs. I ptay they were given to the rightful people who will love and care for them forever. If anyone hears anything more, PLEASE do post on here. Very upsetting not knowing and desperately need the truth. x

Northamptonshire Police
With regards to the two greyhounds, Kettering Borough Council are now dealing with enquiries and have not confirmed that they have been returned to their owner. Whilst Northamptonshire Police initially attend incidents such as this, police officers are not trained animal experts therefore we seek assistance and advice of specialists in the case of animal cruelty. This means that agencies such as the RSPCA will prosecute offenders with the support of our evidence.

- Due to no direct confirmation that the dogs are home...have reposted just in case they are still on the loose. I f anyones knows please call doglost on 0844 800 3220 so we can update their page and status. Thank you.

- I was following the FB Group page and sadly through the amount of bickering and disagreements on comments I stopped making any comments of help or idea's to help find these poor dogs, so I just kept checking for updates. Now I am even more disappointed to find the page has removed everyone from the group and gives no definate account to what has happened to these 2 dogs. I am worried and concerned like probably many other members in the group are. Is there anyone who can tell us what has actually occurred. Are these poor babes home/reunited to good caring owners and how did this all come about, they being dumped and injured as initially reported. Were they stolen???

- ATT POOCHPAL- this sighting was on the evening of the 4th. copy of post put on forum from sadeyes - "Last night while I was driving to my parents house I believe I might have seen the three legged grey hound. It was dark, so i'm not certain of the coat colour, but it was definitely a three legged greyhound. Was on Rothwell RD in Desborough near the fields.
I pulled over, but it was gone by the time I got out of the car. didn't see where it went but I hope this helps. Didn't see any other dogs, hope nothing bad happened" admin from the group responded with "we believe this dog is now home" hope this info helps. on northants police facebook someone saw a grey coloured greyhound yesterday, doesnt mention were though. the group that set up the search can not actualy confirm the dogs have been found, they just say " we believe" the rspca had no knowledge of their return yesterday, so i am reliably informed. its all very confusing, i dont like to interfere but want the best for these dogs! - 2012-01-06 21:32 Julie B
- I like many others seem to be very confused. I was following the story on facebook from the start. Does anyone know if these 2 poor dogs have been found or are they still missing ?? I cant stand the thought of them still being out there on their own x

- When was the sighting in Desborough? One was reported the night before they were reunited.
- 2012-01-06 18:55 mumphie
- just been looking on the forum that was set up for these dogs. someone saw a greyhound in desborough (i believe) stoped the car but had vanished. she thought it has 3 legs but not certain. somewhat confusing, i do believe this person, as the group dont seem very aproachable right now, as they believe they have been reunited, i feel someone needs to be aware of this. the police say are not envolved and kettering borough council are dealing with it. hope someone hear can look into it?
- 2012-01-06 16:07 Unknown
- Has anyone any idea if these dogs really have been found?I was under the impression they had not, but found it hard to believe that there had been no sightings.........I think it needs to be clarified....thank you x

- Very confused with the information given on their Facebook group and wonder if they are really reunited. I think this needs to be looked into further please by someone.

- Great news they have been reunited. Hope they are well.
- 2012-01-05 17:27 dewilliams42
- where and when were they found and what condition were they in? how did the owner know where to look?
- 2012-01-05 16:46 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Lets hope its the real owners...not the ones who dumped them...I am sure the authorities would not hand them back...will look into it.

- Having just put a comment on another lost dog I thought it might be worth mentioning on this page as may be connected in some way. A hairy lurcher was thrown from the back of a van in South Cambridgeshire on 21 Dec 2011 and sadly had to have his leg amputated due to the injuries - hopefully this link to the Hunts Post works http://www.huntspost.co.uk/news/latest-news/cambs_dog_thrown_from_van_loses_his_leg_1_1165942
