- THE RAINBOW BRIDGE POEM
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

- Just had this very sad update:
Can you please do an update on doglost for me as I can't do it just yet. have just collected what I believe to be the remains of Ruby from Bredbury Motorway Maintenance depot. She was knocked down and killed in the early hours of 2/1/12 on M62 quite close to where I live. Very sad :o(. Just want to say thanks for the brilliant help for you all...
This is the worst outcome and news we have wanted to receive, thanks to her family for letting us know it must have been so hard. Thinking of them at this very sad time.
Run free at the Bridge and sweet dreams Ruby. x - 2012-01-05 11:04 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- Thanks Emma for the update. x

- I have posted on again on our facebook page to jog peoples memories.
We have received no reports of any dead dogs I have double checked. All dead animals are scanned for a chip in any case. Fingers crossed this is not a route we need to go down.
Its definatley worth putting posters up as I haven't seen any when I have been out and about. - 2012-01-05 02:46 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- New photo received and grouped together. Keeping everything crossed she is back home soon. Good luck. x

hi i saw your dog last night at tesco irlam follewed her to springfiled rd onto a dirt rd she ran off into a field my contact nimber is 07732764044 ask for aidy
Owner went to area but no luck. Have sent scenting and plotting instructions. Also told her to poster the area like mad, knock on doors asking if anyone has seen her. Also put a poster in the Tesco's and one in the staff room too as this is where Ruby may be getting food.
Unfortunately also a report of a dead dog on the road not far away on Monday night, owner will be contacting council tomorrow.

- Still no news :o( Have lefts posters at vets and local animal shelter, visited Leigh Cats & dogs home just to make sure she wasn't there, informed petlog that she's missing, let the local taxi firms know and asked them to keep a look out for her. Seriously worried. Also contacted petmedics to see if she's been involved in a RTA. Next step is to blitz the area with posters. Have been driving around for hours :O(
