- Whenever I'm over that way I keep my eyes peeled for Holly, was at Down Grange on Saturday and had a good look round, saw nothing but as it was teeming down she was probably being sensible and keeping warm and dry. Had a word with the security chappie at the hockey club house who wasn't aware, also didn't see any posters, lots of people around - dog walkers, runners, cyclists and football teams so lets get lots of posters up and keep people aware, also the gym and nearby hotel.

- Forgot to say I am going around the area with my two dogs to scent the area as she knows my two well. Paula

- I have just had a call from the out of hours dog warden saying she was sighted around the rugby club last night around 7.30. He went to have a look but nothing...my dad is going around today to have a good look, so if there is anyone in the area PLEASE grab her!!, there are loads of posters around stratton park and down grange with our numbers on thanks so much. - Thanks Guys, I have posted all around stratton Park today, I have done 2 trips one on my own and one later with my two dogs!! real fun trying to get the posters up!! just to clarify Holly is a mixed breed with a Jack Russell type head but maybe even staffie in her..she is around 18 inches high so not a typical Jack hight, hope that helps. Regarding the Gazette I think my father said they were doing a freebie for him as he has been putting adds in weekly, shame no picture, rather pointless. Lets hope we all keep the heat up and my father gets Hollyy back soon xx.

- We have been out this morning looking, we covered Stratton park and down grange, unfortunately no sighting of her. Looking at the posts so far it seems like she could be circling her way back, maybe another check on Brighton hill could be good. I have a jack Russell of similar markings and have been asking people if they have spotted holly who is similar to my jack. Will be going out again this evening.

- There is a very small bit about Holly in the Basingstoke Gazette this week (bottom of page 19 - news in brief). Sadly, no photo.

- I will also go to Stratton Park to walk my dog today - she's usually attracts every dog in sight, will take some treats and a spare leash. I'm also out running early on a Sunday morning and come around the park and along Buckskin Lane so will keep my eyes peeled. Hope she's found soon x
- 2012-02-24 22:21 pw
- Thanks Claire you beat me to it lol!! I've walked all over the park and immediate area with my dogs today, but no sign.I also went back this evening and put the head lights all over the park, but nothing and drove around Buckskin again. I have also tonight spoken to the out of hours dog warden Gary to keep him in the loop.Like Claire said we are all going to poster tomorrow.Paula

- Hi clare yes it was the facebay comments ,just a thought sheeing as she is being spotted around the king of wessex pub is it worth asking landlord/landlady to put poster up inside pub as well its the hub of the community there, also it said she was seen round the bottom of south ham so one in the beacon pub also Im sure they would oblige.

- Hi all
My Dad is putting an add in the Basingstoke Gazette all next week, lets hope we get some responses Paulax - 2012-01-17 21:10 pw
- Jayne the info is correct regarding the youths, but today I went with Laura (dog warden)after she received a telephone call regarding a dog in stress with the description given sounded like Holly, so we went this morning and Laura sighted the dog but it was more of a collie type breed.Sorry for the misunderstanding.
- 2012-01-17 18:54 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Bit of wire crossing here...have spoken to owners daughter and this is the update...due to posters a positive sighting YESTERDAY of Holly with 2 youths in Cranbourne. Owners daughter and dog warden Laura have been out today in the area and discovered another siting of Holly....more posters have gone up in the area.

- Hi, have you phoned all the council dog wardens that are on the boundary? If not please ring them just incase she has crossed the border. I know they are emailed through this site but it is deff worth ringing them too. Will the local echo do a piece on her?
Good luck, Im thinking of you. - 2012-01-17 11:04 Jayne - Founder Doglost.

- I will contact my Dad today about Kestrel, he hasn't been well for a few days, I think its the stress of not finding her. I have been mainly putting my time in getting posters up, I think calling the radio will be the next step. I have put a poster in the vets and some in the surrounding area, I just hope she's being looked after as the weather has been so cold. Thanks for looking very kind of you x
- 2012-01-14 08:45 GTMRpups
- Probably a stupid question but have you contacted the local radio station (Kestrel)? Also there is a vets just near Cranbourne Lane (Brunswick Place vets) have you tried them, see if anyone has mentioned a sighted dog? I live just 5 mins from Cranbourne Lane so will walk my dogs around and keep an eye out for her. Hope she gets found soon x
- 2012-01-13 22:40 pw
- Hi she was lost from a back garden in Headington Close. It was New Years Eve and there was a huge firework let off she bolted out of the garden. I have been putting posters up helping my Dad over a hundred. We have had only one sighting, two lads text saying they saw her over cranbourne way, so I have put posters up there, but no one has called. She is a very loving happy dog, I just hope she is ok in this weather maybe an old lady has taken her in or something x
- 2012-01-13 19:58 GTMRpups
- I live in the Brighton Hill area, where abouts was she seen/lost? I will look out for her. Is she likely to come up to my dogs if I take them out? I will spread the word around my doggie friends. Good luck x
- 2012-01-12 09:56 Nina
- Keep going Paula hopefully this is the atart of good news about Holly, do hope so.
- 2012-01-11 23:28 pw
- We have just come back putting more posters up, mainly in bus stops, pubs and social clubs..well 70 posters later taking us 4 1/2 hours we just got a text, saying they saw one of our posters and 2 lads said she had followed them on new years eve, they tried knocking on houses but she than ran off. So we went over that area posting more posters, hopefully we may get some news tomorrow!! I will also call Laura the dog warden tomorrow.paulax
- 2012-01-11 09:12 Nina
- Would it be worth paying a printer to get some posters done. Not sure how mobile your Dad is and go into town and hand them out with possibly the help of friends and family.
- 2012-01-10 21:31 pw
- Thanks so much for your ideas, I know my Dad has said to his postman, I will ask him about the dustman..good idea, I plan to go over to his area again to REALLY put more posters up, you can never have enough can you, and Basingstoke is a large place, I just hope she hasn't been picked up and taken to another area, but I have been advised to carry on close to home first.....so frustrating, not one sighting, i'm trying to keep positive for my Dad's sake but as time is going on it is hard.x
- 2012-01-10 18:42 Nina
- More thoughts. Tell newpaper boys and milkmen if you still have them. Postmen and dustmen may keep their eyes open for you. Garages. churches, supermarkets anywhere that people pass and will read.
- 2012-01-10 18:20 Nina
- Hi Paula, I am a long way from you so not in a position to search myself. Have you contacted local schools offer a reward for school funds. Children see and hear a lot. Pet shops. dog groomers, dog walkers, pubs, hairdressers are a good places to advertise. Posters in cars are good. Ask anyone with a house near a bus stop if they will put a poster in their window out of any rain. Ask shops/charity shops to put it in their windows and offer a donation. Local radio and local newspapers..stress the owner is elderly. If you get any feed back of sightings let doglost know straight away and they can give you scenting intructions. Hope thats enough to be getting on with. Will be watching out for news. Good luck leave a message if you need any other ideas.
