UPDATE ON BULLET THE REUNITED GERMAN SHEPHERD (courtesy of John Alan Wareing) ....
He will be allowed home tonight and his leg has been saved :) :) :)
The police and RSPCA are investigating who pulled down the fence panel that enabled him to get out and who shot him.
As soon as he is settled we will get the happy reunion pictures.
A big thanks to everyone involved... the list is large.
Bullet would not have made it through another night especially as the cold hit hard here. HE WILL BE HOME TONIGHT !!!!! :)

I pray he won't lose his leg, and that his beautiful face will heal. I'm really hoping the police can find the bastards who did this. I've said it before, I'll say it again...I would castrate these people, with bricks, no aneasthetic. Maybe shoot them in the leg too. Love and healing wishes from the midlands.

So pleased that Bullet is now safely back with his owners. Nice to know there are some really kind people about, after hearing what some person or persons did to this innocent animal. They are lowlife scum and I hope they are caught soon and get what they deserve. Sure Bullet will recover soon with lots of TLC. Sending absent healing to Bullet from me, with loads and loads of cuddles. Stay safe now Bullet, and keep close to your owners. God Bless

UPDATE ON BULLET (courtesy of John Alan Wareing via FB) Just received this from his owner... He was OK overnight. Vet checked him after surgery and sorted his face as best he can but he had been shot in the leg and has to stay in to see what happens with infection in leg, he may lose his front leg, not broken but the bullet is still in the muscle. 2 Canine teeth broken and may need removing.
Police and RSPCA informed and Police been investigating. May be Hollowpoint pellet, vet reckons 48-72 hours before we found him. It will look like he is snarling on left side of his face. May have a permanent limp but doing OK so far, tougher than I thought. Vet reckons he would not have survived one more night in that state.
His owner has told Police that she could not have done this without everyones help and the Police have said its people like those that restore faith in the human race and will throw the book at whoever shot him if they find him

Sending healing thoughts to Bullet, hope you wounds heal quickly and they catch the sub humans that did this to you xxx

Hi Sandra, thank you for taking the time to look for Bullet and for taking a poster at southport vets and rufford, greatly appreciated.
I was just going to call the owners for a update then got a text to call.

I'm happy to say that they have got Bullet! They found him not far from Dib lane! The owner took her other dog to see if it could pick up a sent and he lead them to where Bullet was, what a clever dog :)
Bullet is ok but he's got some injuries, the skin on his jaw is hanging off and he's hurt his leg, they think he's either been attacked or got caught on barbed Wire, they were just outside the vets when i rang.I have asked if they can let me know how he is and i will ask for a reunited photo when they are settled.
I'm really glad they have managed to find Bullet and catch him, sending Bullet BIG (((HUGS)) and i hope he makes a speedy recovery.
I am more than happy to be putting Bullet into the BLUE!, Welcome home Bullet xx
Sandra R

Talking to the RSPB man in the car park at the end of Dib lane, today, he mentioned the local farmer had reported seeing a German Shepherd running in the fields the day before. I didn't see any sign whilst on my walk today, but walk that area most days, so will keep a look out. Hope hes home asap

Can alerts go out please, thank you
Maggie
I have just spoken to Bullets owner. Bullet and the owners other dog went out to go toilet, they didn't know at that time that a fence panel had been pulled down (it was a calm day, no wind). When they went to call the dogs in, Bullet had gone. The owners contacted Dog Warden, vets, rescues, Leigh Dogs and Cats home, loads of people are looking out for him
He is a rescue dog and as a problem digesting food, thats why he is on a special diet!
They have had sightings of Bullet in the area which shows he's not wandering further a field.
Bullets owner is going back out to look for Bullet in the area he's been spotted today, they are going to take their other dog with them to see if Bullet will come when he sees him. I hope Bullet is home very soon
Unknown
He is a stunner. Hope he is home soon. Liz xx
