Hi there
I registered my Border Terrier, Monty with you as lost this evening as he'd gone missing at lunchtime... after a sleepless few hours I took the risk and let my other (older) dog out around 1:30 am to look for him we live out in the country (miles from roads and livestock). I figured if someone had locked him up to give me a scare or had actually stolen him locally, my Louis would track him down and find him.
Then at 4:45 am we heard Louis' bark at the back door. He'd found him. They were both there together. Monty still had his collar and tag on and wasn't as cold from the night air as Louis was. I can only surmise someone had locked him in or kept him somewhere and when Louis turned up they both would have barked the house down, so he was released. Louis was fed a nice prime piece of gammon steak as reward. He's a total star.
He wasn't staking out an in-season bitch as we know all the bitches around here and I'd already checked them and everywhere else several times this afternoon and evening and Monty wasn't cold enough, whereas Louis coat was. I have a shrewd suspicion I know who it was... but what can you do?
Thank you for your help and for being there.
