Kimmybear. Lovely kind comforting words from you for Buddy`s owner. Just thought I would check up to see how he is coping. It may be good therapy for the owner (In his grief) to be a helper on this site, helping others to locate their lost dogs. And then you will know that Buddy did not die in vein. Sending Buddy`s owner MORE comforting hugs. God Bless you and Buddy, who is watching over you and wants you to be happy in the knowledge that one day you will be reunited with him. RIP Buddy+++

This is heart breaking. It will also be so very hard for Buddy's owners to help when searching for other missing dogs; it may prove too much. But in time, they may be able to and it will be in Buddy's name. Think of all the dogs that Buddy will be helping from above alongside his owner, as in life. God bless you sweet Buddy. Another baby earnt his little wings, safe in God's arms until he is reunited with his loving owner once more, when he, too, has earnt his wings. God bless you all. x

words are not enough for your loss, I know. Your family have had a long, hard time with much suffering.
We were very, very fortunate to get our little JR girl back, so we know how kind and helpful the folks on this website are in a time of deep distress. We will always be grateful for the kindeness shown.
We planted a willow tree over a much loved family pet- and the willow tree provides shade and shelter for our curent pets. When it blossoms it is beautiful.

So sorry that Buddy didn't make it home. So very sad to lose a much loved family pet in this way. To his family I send my heartfelt sympathy. You did all you could to find him and it's so sad that it just wasn't to be. Buddy was obviously very loved, and hopefully, in time, that will bring you some comfort. Remember all the happy times and the love you shared. Run free at The Bridge Buddy and watch over your Dad especially, night night Little Man. xxx

So sorry to see this about Buddy, but at least you have closure and can lay him to rest. He is now with Jesus at Rainbow Bridge. Please try and take some comfort that you have not lost him forever, and one day you will be reunited with him; his tail wont stop wagging. He will never leave you because of the love yuo gave him during his life. Sending Buddy`s owner healing thoughts for his grief and lots and lots of comforting hugs from me. Night, night sleep tight Buddy, and please look over your owner who really, really needs your strength at this extremely difficult time. God Bless. RIP Buddy. Will remember in my prayers.+++

My heart is breaking for you and your daughter. Buddy was obviously a very loved and important member of your family. People who have never loved and lost a dog don't understand how much it hurts. It does get better. Everytime you pick up Buddys ball or walk in his favorite park, he'll still be with you. x

email from owners daughter...

Good afternoon,

I have this afternoon spoken to a lady on the Doglost helpline regarding my Dad's missing Jack Russell 'Buddy.' He has been missing for 6 weeks now and sadly he was found dead close by yesterday. Ironically he was only at the top of my parents road at a caravan and camping site, so he hadn't made it that far after all. He was discovered in their pond yesterday. It had been frozen over for some weeks due to the cold weather we have had and someone on the site noticed there was something in it yesterday. My brother was able to go and check that it was definitely Buds and it was. He doesn't appear to have any injury's and we have to presume he fell in and couldn't get out. He just looks as though he is sleeping and very peaceful. We shall never really know what happened but we just hope that he did not suffer in any way.. we wouldn't have wanted that for him. He is coming home today so he will be back where he belongs.

My Dad as you can imagine is beside himself and I think it will be sometime before he can begin to get over the last 6 weeks and the sad outcome of Buddy's demise. At the moment he cannot bring himself to speak to anyone about it so we have been taking posters down, notifying vets etc and you are the last (but not least) ones on our list. We cannot thank you enough for all the help and support you have provided Dad with. I think the area co-ordinator who Dad has been speaking to is called Helen although I am not 100% sure. She has been teriffic in reassuring him he has done as much as he can and suggesting things to try which we had not considered ourselves. She brought a bit of light on days when Dad was really down and we will be forever grateful for that. I am sure that eventually Dad will get in touch with Helen himself when things are little less 'raw' for him.

So far I haven't updated Buddy's profile on the website - I myself can't quite bring myself to but maybe you could update that he has been found and move his profile from 'Lost' to 'Found?' It would be much appreciated.

Both Dad and myself have signed up to be 'helpers' for missing dogs in the area, it is something we are happy to do if we can be of help to someone else going through the same.

Thank you once again and keep doing the fantastic job you are doing.

Much love
AlisonH

That's brilliant news swiftskippy. Tell your dad not to forget about the conversation we had about scenting. If it is Buddy scenting the area may help to keep him there. Good luck with the search today I really hope it is him and he is soon back home where he belongs.

Evening all. Buddy's advert has been in the Boston Target & Standard newspapers today and this evening Dad received a call from a gentleman who had returned home from work early this evening to the sound of a dog barking at the bottom of his garden. It was in the Swineshead Ramper area the other side of Boston near to the Four Cross Roads pub. He went to investigate and the barking was coming from over the hedge backing on to the field. On closer inspection he saw it was a lone Jack Russell but before he could do anything the dog ran. It wasn't until later this evening that he saw Buddy's ad in the paper and called. We have been to have a look round tonight but can't see anything in the dark but have determined from the Farmer at the back of the house that he does have a Jack Russell among other dogs but that it has been inside the house all day and can't have been him that he saw. Still a long shot but we have handed some more posters out in the pub and Dad will be returning to the area at first light in the morning to have another look round. Fingers crossed it was him and he's hung around. Could be nothing but after a week without even a sighting it's something and if nothing else we know his advert and all the postings on here and Facebook etc are getting him 'out there.' Lets hope tomorrow is his and our 'lucky day.' xx

Buddy is featured in the newspaper today, hopefully this will bring us some news xxx

Try to stay positive he is out there somewhere and it just takes the right person to see a poster before you get that much wanted phone call. Alison

Buddy is unfortunately still missing and other than a possible sighting on Wednesday night there has been nothing since. We are all trying to remain positive at this stage. Putting up more posters and getting an announcement put out on the local radio today has helped - feels like we're doing something. Fingers crossed that tomorrow brings Buddy home to us x

I have spoken at length with the owner and he has done a wonderful job of spreading the word about Buddy. All authorities have been notified and poster and flyers have been distributed. The only things left to do are contacting the local radio station and microchip company. The road verges have been checked in case he has been knocked down but thankfully nothing was found.
